Oof. I loved a lot of the info in here, but there was a lot that just wasn't my vibe. Much more of the materialistic manifestation than the growth side. It really could've benefited from an editor (both at the higher level to get ideas into a more cohesive form and at the copyediting level with basic punctuation). I felt extra sour finishing the book since the last 20 pages were testimonials, which just felt odd and overly promotional.

ETA Did love the underscoring about how important it is to choose your partner... "Merging your life with someone else's is one of the most significant things you can do, and that is because their life becomes your life (and vice versa). If it gets serious you'll probably end up living together, spending time with each other's friends, and participating in -- or at least talking about -- each other's interests. Your lives truly will merge. So when you are going on dates and getting to know someone, it is absolutely essential to ask yourself, what would our life together look like? And is this a life I want?... the relationship stuff is not trivial. The person you choose to mate with, live with, marry, or spend exorbitant amounts of time with better be the absolute best person you can find. Because their standards will become your own."

I wanted to love this. Gala Darling is one of those incredibly divisive people; if you know who she is, you likely have a big opinion about her.

I, for one, enjoy most of what she does. There's some stuff that I don't care for (she's big into 'tapping,' which isn't my cup of tea), but generally, she's harmless and kind of interesting.

I really liked her first book, "Radical Self-Love," but this one felt like she took every self-help/manifestation book in Barnes & Noble, threw them all in a blender, and that was the book. It was also INCREDIBLY self-congratulatory, which felt gross, and incredibly name-droppy without actually dropping too many names.

All in all, it was fine. I'll put it on my shelf, but I likely won't be revisiting it.

Also, the book was in desperate need of a better editor.

Lots of juicy stuff! A Few aha moments!

Overall, the content is excellent. At its core, the book is built from lessons from Abraham Hicks and Louise Hay but written in a fun, modern, less gospel-esque way.

I think a little too much time was spent talking about finding a partner (those of us who have already found our supportive life partner might get a little bored). But otherwise, the pace was great.

The end of the book contained pages of testimonials, which had a tone of salesmanship to it. I think an editor was highly needed for two reasons:

1. The testimonial stories could have been tastefully placed throughout the books as anecdotes highlighting the discussed topics. As many of them have specific examples of how using the Principles of ‘Magnetic Mindset’ has worked for them. It also would have added some balance as most of the anecdotes in the body of the book were Gala’s. As a leader in the self-help world, having both personal stories and experiences of those Gala has worked with would provide a good balance and could be more valuable to the reader.

2. There were some grammar and spelling errors.

The overall content is of great value. With a bit of polishing, this book could easily be five stars. 🤩

Although there are a lot of trendy subjects and jargon in Gala’s new book, she has been around in the self-help world for a bit and has certainly help me. There’s great nuggets of information and lots of homework assignments to work on. There is also a link to multiple videos on tapping, which were super beneficial. The thing I love about Gala is she lives and practices what she preaches - working on your self is hard and takes intention even though it is so much easier to be on auto drive in life.
This book is perfectly broken down into baby steps and multiple so you can do the work you would like when you want to do it.
Also, if you are familiar with EFT, or tapping, Gala is one of my favorite to follow- she has the best scripts and topics.

Magnetic Mindset was such an easy read and great for beginners that are new to manifestation. I would read it in the mornings and it felt like listening to one of Gala's videos or podcasts. She writes how she speaks so the words in her book really capture her wonderful energy. It was realistic as well as knowledgable which I loved and gave great advice on the manifestation process. Looking forward to when she brings out her next book.

3.5/5 stars for the content, -2/5 stars for the editor.

Felt like this should have stayed as a collection of longer blog posts rather than trying to be a self-help book. I really got a lot of out the content and (somewhat scattered) advice. 100% worth reading this book, and following Gala Darling.

Gala is the most adorable hype man with the dreams of a toddler princess and puppy-like excitement that teeters between inspiration and annoyance. There are some great nuggets in here, just like I gleaned gorgeous ideas from her debut book, but the redundant life-shifting stories and pages of testimonials that close out the end could have been edited for a more relatable read.

Really enjoyed this. I’m not new to manifesting by any stretch, but the ideas Gala Darling presents feel fresh and very relatable! I skipped the single girl parts and really focused on the overall vibe. Highly recommend if you want an easy, inspiring read on manifesting.
