Jack Henseleit was born on a winter evening in 1991, just after the stroke of midnight. When the weather is dark and stormy, he writes fairy tales – real fairy tales, where witches and goblins play tricks on unwary girls and boys. Not all of the tales have happy endings.

En zo dacht ik dat ik een mooie top 10 post had voor mijn blog, en dan lees je deze nadat die is gepost en voeg je hem maar toe als bonus. Want wat was dit boek SUPERLEUK. Ik heb heerlijk gelachen, genoten, en ik WIL MEER.

Eerste deel van de avontuurlijke reeks over vier piraten honden : Iris die uit de circus is ontsnapt , Ed ooit een slachters leerling, Vlekkie een straat hond en Magnus het scheeps kapitein. Later word piraten bemanning verrijkt op nog een extra lid. De Meesterspion een heel eigenzinnig hond die niet blaft, haat water en houd van sardientjes.
Samen gaat de groep avonturiers op zoek naar legendarische schat.

Maar de weg naar de schat is bezaaid met allerijl valstrikken, gewaar, en aantal ongure figuren die ook op zoek naar de legendarische schat zijn.
Ik vond de boek heel erg goed. Er is niet zo veel geschreven tekst des te meer leuke illustraties.
Soms valt het verhaal gewoon in een stripboek vorm.
Ik vond ook de leuke relaties binnen het groep: kameraadschap ( behalve van de leden ;- ) )
Verhaal eindigt met een open einde die lijd vervolgens tot onmiddellijke koop of huur van de verdere delen met de vervolg avonturen van dit voortreffelijke honde bende.

Amazing book. My 6 year old son and I read this together and he loved it. It rekindled his love for stories and I couldn’t be more thankful. It’s the perfect mix of story, jokes and illustrations that kept his interests peaked.
We read this book in four sitting and that was with me having to enforce bedtime he was happy to keep reading. We are reading #2 and he is already asking if the third is out. Reading with my son is my favourite part of the day and having something to read that he enjoys so much is just magical. We will end up rereading this book.

Pirates, puppy dogs, mischief, mayhem and lots of fun along the way.
I think kids will really enjoy this one.
