Even the best-laid plans can falter. Lady Rolayna Seville has one chance to make up for past mistakes, marriage to Baron Rauf Oliveander. Hopeful to appease her powerful father, they journey to seal the contract when they are abducted by a demon warrior and his disciples. Desperate to obtain forgiveness, Rolayna uses every weapon in her arsenal to escape.
Dragos, Duke of Dragonthorne has one job, to do whatever is necessary to stop the rebellion, including abducting a powerful duke and his pain in the ass daughter. When the situation deteriorates, his remaining option is to marry her, something he swore he’d never do. The attraction between them is soul-consuming. With the rebels attacking at every turn, Rolayna must choose between her planned future and remaining at the heart of the devil’s dominion.
This is a historical romance. It centers around the MC’s of Dragos and Rolayna. I like the read although there are some confusing points about the writing style overall/ For instance when Rolayna and Dragos are running from the rebels, he stops and introduces all his men with him. That would not be a realistic expectation with people chasing you at the time, so my suspension of disbelief was a little broken after reading this in the book. Also, the names of everyone were a bit confusing as there were so many characters introduced and you kind of must keep track of them as a reader after that. The romance writing was very good though, this book has just the right amount of steamy romance. The twists and turns in this book make you want to read also. The ending is fitting for both Rolayna and Dragos and a happy ending. So if you are a romance reader you will love this book!
I LOVED this story of Dragos, Lord of Dragonthorne, and Lady Rolayna, a headstrong young woman determined to marry her betrothed, Rauf Oliveander. But when she discovers that the man she thought she loved is a traitor, and her abductor is her hero, her world is thrown upside down.
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for this arc. I really liked the story and I look forward to reading other books by this author. The leading lady is thankfully not a damsel in distress, which I liked, and the male lead was great as well.
This book is "devil's dominion". It was a nicely written adventurous romance book that really drew me in. It is worth checking out. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
