I'm not sure what I expected from this, but this wasn't it.
This is a continuation from the first book, Fireflies where we're introduced to the fantastical world that is bridged between our world and the land of the Fae. It takes a good deal of Celtic lore and places it well within the means for us to understand and sort of relate to.
Brigid's life still leaves me aching, she's not really a present character in this book but she does go through trials and tribulations. She's forced to watch on the outskirts of a past life and suffer through it all over again.
Declan and Ruad are the main characters in this book, they are both caught in their own internal and external conflicts. But together they are able to find the middle ground for their particular struggles.
That cliffhanger though, always bringing me back for more. Definitely a good read and if you haven't read the first one, DO IT.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
