No matter the cost, this problem must be contained.
Cognation Academy has always harbored mysteries beneath its enchanted, tech-fueled campus, but certain alcoves hold more sinister secrets than anyone suspected.
Last fall, the cutting-edge Android Inception Program flipped Charlotte Blythe’s world upside down as she risked everything to save her android friends, Isaac and Denton. With Isaac’s future still in jeopardy, Charlotte throws herself into the annual enigma tournament and campus-wide battle over androids’ rights. As reality and illusion converge, a cryptic journal from Cognation’s founder awakens an unexpected foe and opens a decades-old cold case with explosive implications. Only Charlotte and her friends have the courage to search for the missing clues before it’s too late.
Though it’s impossible to know for sure, Nicole Marie is fairly certain that she is not in fact an android. She is, however, a former English teacher who loves literature and believes that stories have the power to change the world.
Nicole is also co-founder of Tandemental, a publishing and consulting company focused on literature, education, and design.
Charlotte is getting kind of annoying. She has the social-cue awareness of a ten-year-old, and she makes stupid mistakes that could easily have been avoided if she weren't so insecure and oblivious.
This is my favorite so far, but I still feel like the story's not getting anywhere.

I could not put this down! Just like the first book in the series, After Intelligence: The Missing Passage raises perplexing ethical questions about the future of AI and how it will soon shape our world. Great character development and pacing. I love the futuristic atmosphere of the Cognation Academy campus. I’m excited to share this book with all of my family and friends and cannot wait for book 3.
I loved the story as it unraveling. It reminded of myself in my first few years in college. The confidence juxtaposed beside the uncertainty was nostalgic in some ways.
A truly enjoyable follow-up to the first novel in the series that takes an unexpectedly eerie turn, with hints of Frankenstein that I truly enjoyed! Very much looking forward to seeing what happens in the third novel!
