Again, another very laid back read but I do appreciate the development of the characters. I’m a little upset with John right now so hoping he stops being a control freak and embraced Imani’s choices!! I’ll be continuing this series for sure!!!

After finding her soon-to-be ex with another woman and at her daughter’s suggestion to move back to Cocoa Beach, the family is settling in nicely. The Renovations to Sweeney house have given Sam and her mother a new passion. Erica has woken up as a mother and is excited about this new experience. Taylor, Sam’s daughter, is at a crossroads about her future career, while nursing a broken heart. Imani needs a vacation by herself; her three kids have her spinning.
I love the way this family is there to support each other. I am looking forward to the next book. While I am waiting, I might just look into a trip to Sweeney House, after the renovations.

This series has been fabulous so far. We are really getting the deep dive into the Sweeney family. It has all the love, drama and real to life situations that make up an extended family.

I can't get enough of this new series! Book 2 of the Sweeney House series was absolutely delightful - more AND MORE of the characters I already love dearly as they traverse unexplored new territory in relationships, careers, budding endeavors, and life in general...being the loveliest, most supportive, and HILARIOUS bunch all the while.
I adore how much I am transported from the second I pick up a book by this author. The writing in this installment sings with passion and sheer talent; it's storytelling at its finest. Erica's storyline in particular, about the trials and unexpected joys of becoming an adoptive mother, made me choke up with emotional tears (and happy ones!) more than once...this author portrays raw feelings with such absolute grace and skill.
But back to my love for this WHOLE family - The Sweeneys are a strong, witty, and resilient crew who I could read about forever. I am one happy camper to have the ability to dive into these pages and follow along with their winding (but always wonderful) journeys of life.
Do yourself a favor and pick this series up - you'll be just as hooked as I am, it's a guarantee!

Life is never dull for the Sweeneys and there are more changed to be had with some emotional rollers coasters, life change decisions as well as some heartbreak and second chances. I am soo happy how things are turning out for Sam as she deserves good thing and I hope maths becomes her favourite subject soon!! There are some big changes for Taylor and of course Erica and Will are getting a crash course in parenthood with sweet wee Jada. Then things between Imani and John .... how will it all pan out, I know the sweeneys will be there for them but is it enough and just s you get to the end of the book another bombshell is dropped!.

Sam and Dottie start to renovate the Inn. She meet a new guy
Taylor takes Sams job at John’s ad firm and kills it. Helps with social media problems, suggests useing Kai to promote new beer. Kai comes for surf competition as he leaves he asks Taylor to come with him. She gets the new clients so she has to decide what to do.
John and his wife have struggles, she wants to work. She get a big offer but has to go to Cali for 3 months, John isn’t happy.
Erica and Will get an 11 yr old to adopt, Jada. Erica struggles to connect with her but finally finds her love is drawing. They get her adoption finalized.
Julie come home, her daughter Bliss needs a kidney.
Lot of verbiage about nothing…then moves on fast.

Holy cow... There is so much going on with the Sweeney extended family... New love, new and old friends, job opportunities, and a new cousin. I'm inspired by the love and support that this family shares. I haven't been to Cocoa Beach in 20 or so years, but I can't stop trying to visualize the town, and where the inn might be. I adored everything about this book! The family dynamics makes it a story I could dive in to and feel part of the family. Sweeney House is a place I want to go to and meet everyone there.

Cocoa Beach Boardwalk, the second in the Sweeney House series, is drawing me in even more to this family and the area. The trials and triumphs, the smiles and the tears, and the heart wrenching decisions women often have to make in the journey through life…it’s all so relatable. I’m already crying and celebrating with the Sweeney family as they face hardships and good times. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I really liked this story. Each one of the characters has a long winding story to tell. It's not your traditional series where love finds its way at the end of each book. So far we are 0 for 2 in happily ever afters. As each trauma happens we stand back and cry waiting for the other shoe to drop. I have read one book a day and cannot put them down. Now for book #3. Enjoy!

I'm totally into this series, and what I loved about book 2 was that midlife people are seen in full. They have issues! John's wife feels taken for granted and when she gets a big opportunity, it might hurt her family, but to ignore it would be to die a little inside. What will she do? Tayler, Sam's daughter, gets a new career opportunity, and Will and Erica have a shot at parenthood just as the bioclock is running down. Another winner from Cecelia Scott.

Family Drama and Family Love!
Book 2 continues the story of the Sweeney family. There is plenty of drama, emotional ups and downs, questions, changes, and trials. But above all, there is the love that holds this family together. I am loving this series and can’t wait to see what happens in book 3. Be sure to read the books in order - it makes more sense and is so much better that way!

An amazing beach read that's witty and full of emotion and charm. I enjoyed the story line with a strong focus on family and the writing style. The characters are so real you can't help but fall in love with them. A wonderful book with such heart.

This is the second book in the Sweeney House Series and continues the family saga. This is not a standalone and the series really needs to be read in order. Renovations to the inn begin but there are many distractions. Although there is a lot going on the story is character driven and many of the situations are relatable. I'm looking forward to book 3.

another Good Read from Cececila Scott
We the second book was just as good as the first. I enjoy reading stories that have family members in the story and of course the beach. I love reading beach stories. Cecelia makes sure you know every character in her books. Each chapter covers someone and the trials or triumphs they are living in. I can’t wait to download the next book.

The Sweenys are a great family! Great story line, good to show all families have issues, but they can all work together & make the best out of a bad thing!! Really great series to read, I would recommend it to everyone. On to the third book, I am looking forward to reading all of this series.

I generally like the characters but I found the Imani plot line so infuriating. Her husband is so unsupportive I just want to punch him in the face. There’s an implied theme that motherhood should be enough for women and I’m hoping this will go in a less narrow-minded direction. I otherwise am enjoying the series so I’ll stick with it in the hopes that it resolves in a better way.

Just finished Cocoa Beach Boardwalk. This was another great book. I loved Annie. She is smart, strong, caring, and wants to be a mother so bad. She has a loving husband and a great family. This book took us through her journey. An awesome book.

I am enjoying this series as light-hearted summer reading. Honestly it does remind me a little of 80’s sitcoms where someone has a problem and the family comes together to make it ok. Looking forward to starting book 3!
