Lilac has her eyes on her career. Beckett has his eyes on Lilac. Can this grumpy boss convince her to give him a chance?
I am perfectly content with my life. I have a loving (albeit nosy and interfering) family, a fulfilling career as an environmental engineer, and I enjoy living in my quirky hometown of Winter Falls.
But then Beckett Dempsey is appointed CEO at the company I work at. For reasons I cannot fathom to understand, Beckett believes that I am incompetent. He also thinks I should be at his beck and call twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week.
Unfortunately, Beckett is also the sexiest man I’ve ever met and my body yearns for his. I will not give into these ridiculous cravings, though. I know better than to mix business with pleasure.
But then Beckett suggests we burn off our chemistry together for Only One Time. I agree. Unbeknownst to me, he has plans to convince me for more.
Hit BUY NOW to find out if Beckett can convince Lilac to give Only Forever a chance.
This grumpy boss romantic comedy includes a career woman who doesn’t do complicated or drama but finds herself smackdab in the middle of both, a grumpy boss who’s determined to get his engineer to take her hair down, a gaggle of sisters who think matchmaking is their true calling, and a whole town full of hippies who think being called a busybody is a compliment.
Only Forever is a standalone novel in the Winter Falls series.
My Forever Love – Aspen and Lyric’s story Forever For You – Ashlyn and Rowan’s story Just For Forever – Ellery and Cole’s story Stay For Forever– Juniper and Maverick's story Only Forever – Lilac and Beckett’s story
D.E. Haggerty is actually just plain old Dena, but she thinks using initials makes her sound like one of the cool kids. She was born and raised in the U.S. but has spent the majority of her adult life abroad living in cool-sounding places like Istanbul, Heidelberg, and The Hague. She has job hopped from military policewoman to lawyer to B&B owner. She finally jumped off the job hopping bandwagon a few years ago when she decided to turn her addiction to romance novels into a career. If anyone has ideas on how to turn a love of wine into a job, she's all ears.
It is the end of a series, BUT there are many new characters, and I see that the author has already created a spinoff for Beckett's sisters. There are four of them, and one of them has a crush on Lyric's brother, Phoenix. I think that is going to be a fun story.
I have always liked Lilac. She is intelligent, no-nonsense, and always honest. She may not always get social cues, but she is a loyal sister. She has had her share of flings, but Beckett, her new boss, is something more. He is annoying and doesn't quite know what to make of Lilac. Of course, everything he says or does is offensive to her, and I can't blame her in the least. He basically says, without words, that she is incompetent and can't do anything right. But that is her interpretation. Beckett just wants to spend time with her but can't seem to come out and say so. Plus, there is that pesky "no dating coworkers" policy. It takes time, but he eventually overcomes the barrier to her heart.
I still love this quirky little town. The gossip girls (ladies), Ruby offering condoms to all the men dating her daughters, and the West sisters and their beaus make this town entertaining. I do love the zero carbon town where they do everything they can to save the environment. I think out of all of these books; Lilac has been my favorite. I think it is because she doesn't resort to trickery or stunts to get by in life. She is very matter-of-fact regarding everyone and everything. I love that they call her Literal Lilac. As the story progressed, I enjoyed seeing Lilac and Beckett's story unfold, and their relationship moves forward. There are a few surprises near the end regarding Beckett, but they are good surprises.
I look forward to the spinoff series since I am sure we will learn more about Lilac and Beckett since the book ends with them together, but there are still several questions left in the air.
It's release day!!! Are you ready for a grumpy boss and a career woman to find love? Yeah, Lilac isn't ready either. In fact, she thinks Beckett is more than grumpy. How dare he question her work??!! Here's an excerpt to whet your appetite:
Lilac reads the message before picking up her briefcase. “I really do need to leave now.” Not on my watch. “You are not running off on some date while we have work to do.” “What are you talking about?” “I was speaking English, wasn’t I?” “Of course, you were speaking English – according to you personnel file you don’t speak any foreign languages – but your words made no sense.” I forgot I need to be literal with Lilac. She doesn’t understand innuendos or ambiguities. “We have work to do. Your date can be postponed or, better yet, cancelled.” “You’re speaking English, but your words are still confusing. What makes you think I have a date?” I wave toward her phone. “You laughing and giggling while reading messages from some man while I’m standing here in front of you.” “I don’t giggle,” she protests. “Whatever. You laughing then.” “Hold on. You’re upset because you think I have a date this evening?”
This is the fifth book in D E Heggarty's "Winter Falls" series and I have loved every one of them.
Everyone should live in a town like Winter Falls, set up by a hippy community many years ago it is completely eco friendly, only organic foods eaten, people travel about in golf carts because cars are banned and the most wonderful collection of slightly dippy residents including the gossip girls, elderly ladies in pink sweatshirts who make it their business to know everything that is happening in the town, matchmaking anyone who is unfortunate enough to be single and running bets on anything and everything.
Four of the zany West sisters are happily loved up leaving only serious, straight talking Lilac, an environmental engineer. Lilac loved her work, Becket Dempsey was CEO of Clean Mountain Environment and Lilac's boss and thereby lies the problem. It is obvious that they are attracted to one another but the signals were very mixed, also the company had a "no fraternising between employees" policy, Lilac had worked hard to get where she was and she wasn't about to let her boss sabotage it……….. enter the West sisters Ellie, Ashlyn, Aspen and Juniper and their long suffering but adoring partners ably assisted by Cassandra, Elizabeth and Gabrielle, Beckets sisters, Oh, and not forgetting the gossip girls all in cahoots to push Lilac and Becket together often with hilarious results, put into the mix the West girl's hippy mother happily handing out condoms to all and sundry and you have a lovely tongue in cheek story.
Although this is a standalone story I would really urge reading the series in sequence to get to know the wonderful, zany residents who reside in Winter Falls and their stories. I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary
Ahhh-MAZING….I devoured this book in one sitting. Another great addition to this series and a fantastic stand alone if you haven’t read any of the others. I especially love the author’s sense of humor with the quirky little chapter intros that set the tone for the setting and characters of each book. This leading lady was very complex and a bit of a concrete-sequential thinker on the outside, but on the inside was just as interested in finding love like the rest of her sisters.

I just can't say it enough - I love Winter Falls! Only Forever gives us the story of Lilac, the last West sister and I went into this book feeling sad that this would be the end of this journey BUT it's not!
This story has the usual cast of characters - the West family and their significant others, the Gossip Gals and pant-less Forrest. We also get to meet new people which is where our story has potential to continue.
Maverick is Lilac's boss at the environmental engineering firm. They have been working together for a year and Maverick's working style with Lilac bothers her to no end. Where with her previous boss Lilac has much less restrictions and could work very independently, Maverick is involved in everything she does, including reaching out after work hours. Maverick has four younger sisters so when he meets the West sisters he has a small understanding of that family dynamic.
Lilac is the least like any of her family. She a very smart, very literal person and rarely jokes or shows emotions - often called the robot sister. While she gets involved with the antics of her family, is well loved by her family and the town, she is often the outsider in that she doesn't subscribe to the foolishness that takes place. Maverick's micromanaging of her work does not align with her personality.
Despite this the two cannot escape the chemistry and attraction and one night changes their dynamic.
This book is so great because we get a glimpse of Lilac not seen in the prior books. She has a playful, sexy side that comes out around Maverick. We also really see the protectiveness of her family. With her other sisters we see the family stepping in but with this one her family is quite clear that Lilac is not as robotic as people seem to think. Her feelings run quite deep and anyone who threatens to hurt her will have a long line of people defending her.

Lilac may be the most interesting West sister. She’s different in how she processes the world and, while she is brilliant in evaluating everything scientifically which makes people think she’s cold and unemotional, yet she has all the family’s best attributes: she loves and supports her family though she doesn’t entirely understand them or they her; she’s smart and extremely environmentally conscious and, unlike the others, she doesn’t butt into others’ lives. Beckett is special in that he appreciates all Lilac’s differences and, after raising his four sisters, he has the logistical, emotional and mental strategies to be able to manage and build a strong relationship with her. I liked, and would like to see more of, the sisters being supportive rather than just competitive or pushy. This series still has people to match!
I received a free Advance Review Copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.
This is the fifth book in the Winter Falls Series and is Lilac and Beckett's story. I have not read any of the other books in the series but didn't have a problem keeping up. But after getting glimpses of the other West sisters, I want to go back and read the rest of the series. This was a fun romantic comedy that will keep you giggling. The chemistry between Lilac and Beckett was explosive and it was a great read. I read a free advance copy via Book Sirens and voluntarily chose to review it.
Lilac loves her life just the way it is, really she has everything a girl could ask for; kooky but supportive family, a kick butt job that she loves as an environmental engineer and all the entertainment she could need in the form of all the wacky towns people that she calls friends. The very last thing that she needed was to have her new annoyingly hot boss Beckett Dempsey all up in her business twenty-four seven! If having to deal with his constant poking wasn’t bad enough Lilac also has to keep her body in check around him… you see Beckett might be the most infuriating man in town but he also so happens to be the hottest man she has ever met and her body doesn’t seem to have got the memo that they hate him! So when Beckett suggest that they share only one steamy night together to work each other out of their systems Lilac agrees…little does she know Beckett has plans to convince her that their one night should turn into forever…
I have absolutely been loving this series to bit and Lilac and Beckett only just made me love this series all the more! There is absolutely nothing not to love about this book, from start to finish we are taken on this hilariously cute ride with Beckett and Lilac as they dance around their attraction to each other.
Lilac was such a boss lady character, granted she doesn’t always pick up on all those social cues but girl who does really? I loved her passion for her job and that she so no-nonsense about the way she went about her business. I really loved getting to see her bond, bicker and banter with her sisters and really just getting to see this family at their crazy best. I liked that she was different to the other West girls and that even though she was a bit on her own buzz she was so perfectly herself, her passion for being environmentally conscious just called to my own eco loving heart.
As for our hero Beckett well lets just say for all his well meaning intentions he sure does put his foot in his mouth a lot! I really liked this guy and even though things don’t get off to the best start with Lilac I loved that he appreciated her for all her wacky and original qualities. I liked that at the core of all of his actions all he wanted to do was spend more time with Lilac even if it was coming across in all the wrong ways. More than anything I loved the bond that Beckett had with his sisters and that after practically bring them up on his own he kind of had all the right tools to help him build a relationship with Lilac.
I can’t not say it enough but I just love this quirky little town and the fact that they are no carbon town. Also how can you not love the Gossip Girls and all their meddling and poking. This entire series has been one laugh after the other! Im so not ready to say goodbye to this series but never fear Haggerty has us covered with another series already in the works and let me just tell you I have a feeling it is going to be GOOOOOD!!! In the mean time I highly suggest reading Only Forever and then binge reading the rest of the Winter Falls series!
Highly entertaining romcom as Lilac finds forever whether she’s looking, ready or not
Only Forever (Winter Falls Series Book 5) by D.E. Haggerty brings all the romcom elements together for the final West sister. Lilac is sweet even in her no nonsense ways. In fact, she reminds me of what Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler’s daughter might be like. Just as those two sitcom characters worked well together, Beckett and Lilac balance each other beautifully. Best of all, Beckett is just the man Lilac needs. He understands her like she thinks no one is capable of. I just adore this couple, this series and everything this author writes. There’s plenty of heat, so much heart, humor in every chapter and always Heroes and Heroines worthy and ready for love (even if they don’t know it yet). The plot keeps the reader guessing. Not only are we rooting for all the matchmakers (and there are several!) to be right, but Lilac and Beckett are enmeshed in a forbidden office romance. Drama, heartbreak and antagonism drives our Heroine to take desperate measures much to our Hero’s protestations, dismay and disagreement. Overall, Beckett doesn’t let things stand. As a true Hero, Lilac’s Hero, and a resourceful CEO, he finds a solution and sets their HEA in motion in true ‘nerd grand gesture’ style. This highly entertaining romcom is not to be missed! And, if you haven’t read all about how the other West Sisters fall into love and HEAs, your missing out on some fabulously worthwhile entertainment.
I’ve said it in my other Winter Falls reviews, but I love being able to revisit Winter Falls! In this book we get to read about the last West sister, Lilac.
I always found Lilac interesting whenever she made an appearance in the other Winter Falls books. She was, as her sisters called her, literal. She always has an answer for everything, and they are always true. Some may find this a bit annoying, but it’s actually more entertaining for me than irritating.
Beckett is such a sweetheart, though he comes off as a grump. He likes Lilac and her quirkiness, you can’t find a better man than that.
This was a fun book, we get to take a trip to Winter Falls during one of their festivals. We also get to see what the other West sisters have been up too. And bonus, we are introduced to the Dempsey sisters, who are almost like the West sisters. They were raised by Beckett, so they are a very tight group. Can’t wait to see their stories unfold. This is part of the Winter Fall series, but it could be read as a standalone. However, why would you want to do that? Definitely pick up the other books, they are definitely worth the read.
I received an ARC and I am leaving a review voluntarily.
Last but not least, the most awaited West sister's story - Lilac!!
Lilac is an environmental engineer whose new grumpy boss has been incessantly bothering her every chance he gets. She's at her wits end but he is the most attractive man she's ever met. When a work trip turns into a bit more, the lines get confused and she doesn't know where she stands or what to do.
I love all the West sisters, but Lilac has a special space in my heart. She's logical and doesn't always insert herself into the nonsense that her sisters involve themselves in. She's a bit quirky, but in the way all Winter Falls residents are. Also, she's very committed to the environment and it shows in her commitment to her work. She and Beckett together were so wonderful and Beckett's sisters were so fun to have and see how they interacted with the West family.
Again, I can't reiterate how much I love this series, this town and D.E. Haggerty for making such a fun and quirky hippie town for us to all enjoy. Everyone is in everyone else's business (the best part of small town romances because it's absolutely hilarious) and they all care so much for each other.
I received an ARC via BookSirens for an honest review.
Lilac is not wired like her sisters. She is a brilliant scientist and environment engineer, and has no intention of being sidetracked from her chosen career. But she lacks social skills, as she takes everything literally and doesn’t “get” the nuances of language. I found her to be a force of nature, straight down the middle, but with a good sense of herself, and wholly likeable.
Beckett is her new boss, and although there is a strict policy in force at the company forbidding relationships amongst the staff, he can’t help being attracted to Lilac.
All the Winter Falls characters are still there, not conforming to the “norm”, but bringing their quirks to every situation. New characters are introduced into the mix - Beckett has 3 sisters who he has brought up following the death of their parents, and they fully embrace being a part of the fun which follows the West family around.
This is Beckett & Lilac’s story, which is lively and entertaining, and you have to wonder how two completely opposite characters can ever get together.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is book 5 in a series ; however, it was easy to follow as a standalone read. Of course, after reading this one, I am sure that many readers would enjoy returning to Winter Falls to read the other sisters' stories. Both Beckett's sisters and Lilac's sisters are written quite well. Their story had great potential with some steamy and some sweet moments. Having a leading lady who sees the world differently ( possibly on the spectrum) is unique but I felt that I was being repeatedly hit over the head with the over-explaining of how she saw the world differently and thus literally. I understood that part of her personality quite early on. The writing style is short simple sentences which gives its reading a staccato feel rather than a flow which was distracting for me . Of course, this is not a fault just something peculiar to my reading preference. All in all, I think many readers would like not only this rom-com but would enjoy the series of Winter Falls and Lilac's family. The next in the series seems to be about Beckett's sister Gabrielle and looks quite engaging also. I received a copy of this arc and leave this review voluntarily.
After all the other sisters found their HEAs, I was really excited to read Lilac and Beckett’s story. It absolutely grabbed me at the first page and never let go. I sincerely appreciated how Lilac's character peculiarities were written. Beckett is wonderfully suited to her.
The banter between these characters is written so well that I felt like I was seeing it happen in person! These sisters are absolutely hysterical. And I loved that Beckett’s sisters entered the story! The world of Winter Falls is full of quirky townspeople and entertaining situations that keep the pages turning.
This creative author has given us another addictive part of this story. I smiled and giggled through the whole read. It is a fantastic "conclusion" to the West sisters' romance series, but can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. Trust me, you'll want to read the other stories if you start here!!
I highly recommend this book, author, and series. She has quickly become one of my favorite rom-com writers. I anxiously await her next new release!!
I was fortunate to receive an ARC of this book, and am happy to voluntarily leave my review.
Lilac loves her job and is good at her job. Beckett is soon appointed as the new Ceo of the company where Lilac works for. He loves to be involved in every project that Lilac is a part of.
😊What i liked -
✔ Workplace Romance/Small Town/He Falls First/Romantic Comedy. ✔ I absolutely love this small town nosey bunch. ✔ Got introduced to Beckett's four sisters in this book too. The combination of the nosey West sisters and Dempsey sisters is just fantastic. They are a Riot. ✔ My favourite Gossip Gals strike again. ✔ Okay my new favourite in this one is the Mum.( I love you Ma and you are my favourite but i think the West mum is cooler and funnier). ✔ I loved the banter, the jealousy and the chemistry between Lilac and Beckett. ✔ I loved all the characters but Lilac has a special place in my heart.
🤔What could have been better -
✔ I wanted more of the Gossip Gals.

P.s - I have totally become a fan of this author's work.
This was Lilac West story and her grumpy boss Beckett Dempsey. Lilac was an environmental engineer and on top of her game and a workaholic. In comes Beckett as the new CEO of the company and always questioning Lilac’s engineering abilities. Beckett raised his four teenage sisters after the parents death and they were a handful so he knew how to handle any situations he thought tell he fell for Lilac. She didn’t want anything to do with him because he was her boss.
Lilac had four sisters also and three of them lived in Winter Falls also. Lilac’s mother stole the scenes at times with her condom pushing antics. All of the sisters worked together to try to get Lilac and Beckett together. The camaraderie between the sisters, boyfriends, husbands and fiancés were so much fun along with the older ladies gossiping. The initiation of Beckett into the family was hilarious. I can’t wait for the next book these are fun to books to read.
I received this ARC from the author and Booksirens for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
And we're back in Winter Falls, with the last of the West sisters. Also, the most interesting. because the most interesting one is always saved for last, right? I really enjoyed hearing from Lilac in her own words, discovering her takes on the quirks she has and getting to understand her motivations. Beckett I was... slightly less enamoured of. The way he went about things with Lilac felt a little pushy, like he wanted her but didn't take the time to understand her, and I was glad he was called out on some of his actions. Also, his sisters were a delight and I hope we get to learn more about them.
One fun thing about series like this is seeing previous characters and how they're faring, and possibly because of this, the series has got better and richer as it's progressed. Looking forward to whatever comes next (hopefully) for Winter Falls...

Awesome series! Loving the quirky town of Winter Falls where everyone knows your business before you do and where characters are fun and lovable. In this one, the 4 happily married/engaged West sisters decide it’s time for literal and logical Lilac to find happiness too. At the same time Lilac realizes her grumpy boss Beckett might be bothering her so much because he likes her. At the encouragement of his and her sisters, as well as Beckett’s persistence, Lilac decides one night of passion should be enough to sate their chemistry. For Beckett though, he only realizes that he’s already in love with her but he still has his work cut out for him convincing her. Beckett has his work cut out for him, but Luckily for him, Juniper’s 4 sisters (plus 3 of his as well as the entirety of winter falls) are on his side and are determined that It’s Lilac’s turn for love.
Finally Lilac gets her story - and it is a doozy! She is the last of the West sisters to "meet her match" and the least like her sisters. Their stories are also part of the series - which definitely do not need to be read to enjoy this book, but are they also wonderful and are all available in KU if you happen to subscribe. Lilac is a "super brain", brilliant scientist and environmental engineer who cares about her family, and the environment but in a very logical, literal, non-emotional manner. It was fun to see into her thought processes and feelings throughout the book especially since we all know people like her and try to understand them. Once we also learn about Beckett's background and feelings for her, his actions, viewed through that lens also become understandable and sweet, not overbearing and jerky. But watching the sparks fly while they try to navigate each other, the workplace environment and their chemistry was a blast - especially once the "family matchmakers" and "gossip girls" get involved. All in all, this book was great fun and I couldn't out it down. I highly recommend, and am thrilled that it is not the last we will see of Winter Falls. Enjoy!
Wow. At the start, they both were attracted to the other but had reasons for staying away. It seemed like they had no way to move forward. But they eventually break, though him more than her. As I expected, Lilac takes us on an amusing ride, with her desire to deflect from uncomfortable situations with facts, often when she knows what they meant but doesn't want to discuss the topic further. I was kind of sad to read this book because it's the last of the West sisters, but I was still excited for another fantastic read, to which I was not disappointed. In fact, my expectation are exceeded because the final West sister's man has sisters who will have their own series which I'm now really excited for the next journey.
*I am leaving an honest and voluntary review after receiving this book as an ARC.
Lilac is as smart as an encyclopedia, literal, and comes off as socially awkward. Being the middle child means having four meddling sisters followed by a lot of family chaos. She's a workaholic who doesn't do relationships. Beckett, who has raised her sisters, understands her better than anybody else does. Beckett is her perfect match and despite/or due to the antics of the matchmaking sisters and Gossip Gals, they finally get their HEA. Beckett's initiation into the family and his nerd grand gesture are so hilarious.
I wish Winter Falls really existed… Everybody in this extremely environmental-friendly hippie town is uniquely quirky. The author is so imaginative and good with words. This series is so much fun to read!

Another fantastic instalment of the Winter Falls Series!
Lilac has been an interesting character since her introduction in the first book. It’s nice to see that she has finally met her perfect match in Beckett. This is a fun, work-place, small-town romance filled with overbearing sisters and noisy neighbours.
Lilac is the middle child of the West sisters who have decided to make it their mission to set her up with the love of her life. Beckett is her boss, whose completely in love with her despite the rules against workplace romance. Throwing in sisters, gossip-girls and co-workers, their relationship is tested.
I’m so excited for this series to continue with the Dempsey Sisters!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The last of the West sisters This is the fifth book in this thoroughly enjoyable series set in the quirky town of Winter Falls. Lilac is the last of the West sisters to find her life partner. Lilac is an interesting character, she’s very black and white and literal and not at all like her sisters, so this was either going to work spectacularly or not at all and Ms. Haggerty has hit it out of the park! While our main characters, Lilac and Beckett, are characters you’ll want to get to know, they have a whole towns worth of quirky characters fighting for page space and bringing humour and enjoyment to the story. This may be the last of the West sisters but thankfully Beckett has sisters and Lyric has brothers so our time in Winter Falls is not at an end. Yay!!
I've been looking forward to Lilac's story ever since I started this series and this did not disappoint. She's so perfectly nerdy and quirky and was never interested in a long term relationship (forget love/forever) but Becket is her perfect match. Even Lilac's family often think of her as not having emotions and slightly robotic because she is so logical but once we start seeing the world through her eyes we learn so much more about Lilac and her inner thoughts.
I was already sad about this series nearing the end after the last book so I am so excited to see D.E. Haggerty setting up the next arc of stories. I hope that the quirky town of Winter Falls will continue to play a role in those stories.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Absolutely amazing! I could not put the book down. I am not sure where to even begin! First and foremost I am super thankful for getting the opportunity to read this book! The author is such an amazing and lovely person! Now to the book! It is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. I am a complete fan of the boss and worker trope, so this book had me hooked. The story of Lilac and Beckett is amazing! How Lilac seems to want to resist Beckett even though she completely wants him, but her career is her main priority. Yet, Beckett tries to get her to agree to one night, to get rid of the tension going on between them, but obviously one night is not enough. This being the first book I read of the series, I now have to read the other ones as well! A must read, no doubt in my mind!
4.5 Stars The last West sister is up to bat. I couldn't wait to dive into Lilac's story. She has intrigued me through this whole series. Beckett is so perfect for her and I couldn't imagine anyone better. He truly sees her and accepts her just the way she is. Bennett also won me over with his relationship with his sisters. Stepping up to bat for them they way he did shows what kind of guy he is. He is one grumpy guy though until Lilac brings out a new side of him. This book delivered on the laughs that I've come to love and expect. When the West family gets together hilarity usually follows. I love all my visits to Winter Falls and glad to hear we don't have to say goodbye quite yet! I really love this cast of characters
Oh my lord, I loved this book. I loved this entire series. As soon as anything by Dena hits on kindle, I’m picking it up and reading it right away. The writing style is incredible. It’s so fast-paced and you can truly see that thought and effort has been put into every single line. I’m so excited to read Beckett’s sisters’ stories. I loved Beckett and Lilac. They had amazing chemistry and everything the Beckett dos her Lilac and vice versa is just adorable. Always love seeing the other people in town. READ THIS SERIES RIGHT AWAY. IT’S INCREDIBLE.
I received a review copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another hit by Dena Haggerty. Four and a half stars! I really enjoyed Lilac’s story. For someone with four sisters Beckett is pretty clueless about how Lilac would perceive his constant supervision of her work. She thinks he sees her as incompetent when in reality he only wants to be with her as much as possible. This sweet story is the last of the West sisters but the Dempsey sisters are obviously up next and I can't wait to read them. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author andBookSirens and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review. All opinions are my own.
Lilac is fully invested in her career and not interested in a relationship. Her CEO, Beckett, she feels he sees her as incompetent in her work. When they work in close proximity, their chemistry is undeniable. He loves all her quirks, she feels loved by someone who isn’t bothered by her intelligence and found someone she wants to be around with more than a night. Add in the quirky town of Winter Falls, and the nosy West family, it’s a story that keep you turning the pages and wanting more. Lilac and Beckett were my personal favorite of the West sisters romances. I received an ARC of, I voluntarily read and reviewed it. All opinions are my own.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is Lyric’s story in the wonderful Winter Falls series. This book can be read as a standalone although it is enhanced by having read the other West sisters’ books. Lyric is an environmental engineer, and the last of her sisters to find romance. Although brilliant, Lyric is very literal and lacks social skills (I wondered if she was on the spectrum). Beckett is her hot boss. Lyric and Beckett start off with misunderstandings, and clash constantly. While they are attracted to each other, Lyric resists violating their company’s fraternization policy. Lyric and Beckett eventually succumb to their attraction with the help of their sisters and Winter Falls’ busybodies. This story has some interesting plot twists and some adult heat along the way to a happy ending. There is some foreshadowing of the next book in the series, so I’m looking forward to one of Beckett’s sisters getting to a HEA next! I downgraded one star because I had a little difficulty warming up to Lyric's character. I received an advance copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
