The girl’s pretty face was relaxed, snowflakes settling on her cheeks as they began to fall over the quiet frozen lake where she’d been found. She could have been sleeping… but her empty eyes and the blooming bruises around her neck told a different story…
When Special Agent Nikki Hunt receives a call on Christmas Eve, she knows it can’t be good news. Seventeen-year-old missing teenager Kesha Williams has at last been found… her body floating in an icy forest lake, miles from her hometown.
As Nikki rushes to the scene, she’s chilled to see the past repeating itself. Kesha disappeared from the mall where Nikki’s own little girl was targeted the year before. With Kesha’s grieving parents desperate for answers and the media out for blood, Nikki promises she’ll find Kesha’s killer no matter what it takes.
Local police are convinced it was Kesha’s boyfriend, who was spotted disappearing from security cameras that day at the mall, but Nikki isn’t so sure. The dense marshes and unstable ground around the crime scene mean it’s nearly inaccessible from the road. Whoever took Kesha is a local, and this probably isn’t his first kill.
Nikki’s worst fears are confirmed when the team find another grave on the shore – a second teenage girl, her body wound in a brightly coloured beach towel. Suddenly on the hunt for a serial killer, Nikki knows that an early break is the key to solving this case. But as the body count rises, will Nikki be able to find Kesha’s killer… or will he find her first?
An unputdownable thriller that will keep you up all night! Fans of Lisa Regan, Kendra Elliot and Robert Dugoni will absolutely love this gripping read.

Special Agent Nikki Hunt is back again in this gripping, captivating, page turner which sees Nikki hunting a sadistic serial killer who is always a step ahead of her. I have loved this series from the very first book, The Girls in the Snow, and I always get excited when I see Stacy Green has another book out. Her Frozen Heart did not disappoint! The writing, the plot and the cast of characters keep me coming back for more. Her Frozen Heart is riveting, tense and compelling!
Nikki receives a phone call informing her that the body of Kesha Williams, a missing seventeen-year-old has been found by an ice fisher in an icy lake. Kesha was last seen at a mall and reported missing by her boyfriend who has become the main suspect in her disappearance. Nikki can't help being reminded of when her own daughter went missing in the same mall.
With all the other books in the series, I was instantly drawn into the story. I loved being on the case with Nikki as she investigated and looked for clues. Plus, all the supporting characters are in this one. I love the character development that has occurred over the course of the series. There is the perfect balance between Nikki's personal life and her investigative role.
Nikki is a character to root for. She has suffered loss in her life when her parents were killed, and her testimony sent the wrong man to jail. She is a mother with a young child who has found love again. She is smart, extremely likeable, flawed, and tough.
From the very first page, I was glued to the pages. There is no down time as Nikki investigates. I enjoyed the pacing and how the tension mounts as the investigation progresses. Whew! Did I mention, I love this series? This book proved to be a fast read and as it is only book 6 in the series, those who have not read it, can easily go back, and begin with book #1. Although, this would work as a stand-alone, this is such a great series, why not go back and start at the beginning There is great character development and growth for all of the characters that you won’t want to miss it.
Captivating, tense, and pulse pounding!
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
It was Christmas Eve when Special Agent Nikki Hunt received a call from Miller, saying an ice fisherman had discovered a body in the waters of the frozen lake, one that would prove to be missing seventeen year old Kesha Williams. It wasn't too long before another grave was found in the woods and more bodies of varying age were discovered. They had a serial killer on their hands, and Nikki was determined to catch them...
With Nikki's six year old daughter Lacey off to her grandparents place on Boxing Day, and her significant other Rory, caring for Lacey until she left, Nikki was able to give the case her all. The horrors of what they were discovering sent shivers down Nikki's spine and she realised the killer had to be a local as he knew the area so well. But would they find him before another person was taken?
Her Frozen Heart is the 6th in the Nikki Hunt series by Stacy Green, and I loved it! Fast paced with plenty of action, the intrigue and gripping sentences kept me flying through the pages. I thoroughly enjoy this author's writing and look forward with eagerness for #7. Highly recommended.
With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my digital ARC to read in exchange for an honest review.
That took me so long to read, not because it was a bad book but because I was very unwell. So, short review. FBI agent Nikki Hunt is called to a scene where a body has been found under the water by an ice fisherman. It turns out to be a young woman who has been missing for a couple of weeks. Strangely, her hands and feet have been cut off.
A K9 team is brought in to sniff out the missing bits but instead they find a body dump with 6 bodies in various stages of decomposition.
There are many suspects and red herrings and no progress is made. Then Nikki’s team is alerted to a missing young man from a neighbouring county. Are these cases related? Is the young man still alive? It is, however, clear they are chasing a serial killer who has been at it for a very long time.
This was a very tense read but I felt that the book was let down a bit by the ending, it was just a little too ‘pat’. Nevertheless an exciting and suspenseful story with a very twisty, shocking ending. I’m already looking forward to the next Nikki Hunt book. Matt thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the much appreciated arc which I reviewed voluntarily and honestly.
I am a great fan of the Nikki Hunt series. Always real page turners and always devoured in one sitting. In this book Her Frozen Heart was another page turner. A prolific serial killer who loves his work and likes to inflict indescribable pain on his victims. Atmospheric and definitely chilling in places. The more I read the more my heart rate increased and I was really loving this book. But the ending was an anti climax after all the tension and suspense. A real thrill ride with a naff ending. Very disappointed, this could have been another five star read. Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for giving an honest review.
Her Frozen Heart (Nikki Hunt Book 6), by Stacy Green
I really love an edgy thriller and Her Frozen Heart definitely has all the dark elements of an intricate mystery. While this is book 6 in the Nikki Hunt series, it is my first time reading Stacy Green's work. I may have connected the characters quicker if I had read the books in order, but it is very enjoyable as a stand-alone.
Synopsis: Special Agent Nikki Hunt is called to the scene of a murder. The body of missing teen Kesha Williams has been discovered in the icy waters of a local lake. Kesha leaves behind a grieving family seeking answers to her death. Can Special Agent Nikki Hunt solve this troubling case?
Her Frozen Heart follows the trail of a sadistic serial killer. Green's writing style is well fleshed out and had me hooked. The only tiny issue I had was that two of the characters names are quite similar, and I had to remind myself which one I was reading about until I got to know them. It is exciting to find a new author and I look forward to reading more of Stacy Green's books.
Her Frozen Heart (Nikki Hunt Book 6) by Stacy Green is available on October 13th. (4.25 ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫)
Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture, for sharing this intriguing story with me. Your kindness is appreciated.
HER FROZEN HEART is the sixth book in the Nikki Hunt series, a gripping crime thriller set in Stillwater, Minnesota by best-selling author Stacy Green. This is my review of The Trapped Ones.
The books in the Nikki Hunt Series include: The Girls in The Snow (Book 1) One Perfect Grave (Book 2) Lost Angels (Book 3) The Girl in The Ground (Book 4) The Trapped Ones (Book 5) Her Frozen Heart (Book 6)
While this book can be read as a standalone, as the author does a great job in supplying background information, I would recommend you read the series in order to get a better appreciation of the growth of the characters. It is such a great series, so sit back and enjoy!
As a recap from book 5, (FBI Special Agent and criminal profiler Nikki Hunt heads up the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) that deals with crimes in the jurisdictions of Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Tyler, Nikki’s ex-husband had been murdered at the hands of a serial killer Nikki had been chasing. Tyler’s parents had decided to sue for custody of their 6-year-old daughter, Lacey, as Nikki’s job was too dangerous and provided limited time with her daughter. Nikki still owned her house in St Paul, but with her boyfriend Rory at her side, Nikki and her daughter spent most of their time in Stillwater, with Rory’s family.)
When Special Agent Nikki Hunt receives a call on Christmas Day, of a seventeen-year-old missing teenager Kesha Williams who has at last been found… her body floating in an icy forest lake, miles from her hometown.
Kesha disappeared from the mall where Nikki’s own little girl was targeted the year before, and it brings back chilling memories.
Local police are convinced it was Kesha’s boyfriend who was spotted disappearing from security cameras that day at the shopping mall, but Nikki isn’t so sure. When a second teenage body is found Nikki knows she is on the hunt for a possible serial killer.
Then the team find another grave on the shore – a second teenage girl, her body covered in a beach towel. Now on the hunt for a serial killer, Nikki knows that she must solve this case fast to avoid additional deaths.
Her Frozen Heart is a fast-paced crime thriller with a strong protagonist and engaging characters. Lots of twists and turns with a satisfying conclusion. Great series that will appeal to a wide audience. Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the author, Bookouture and Net Galley for my digital copy.
You can buy body bags on Amazon? ummmm ... I didn't realize that. LOL Sooooo ... When Special Agent Nikki Hunt receives a call on Christmas Day, she knows it will not be good news. A seventeen-year-old missing teenager, Kesha Williams, has been found dead floating deep within an icy lake miles from her home.
Local police are convinced it was her boyfriend who was spotted disappearing from security cameras that day at the shopping mall, but Nikki isn’t so sure. When a second teenage body is found Nikki knows she is on the hunt for a possible serial killer. Christmas leaves her short staffed and racing for answers.
This thriller grabs you right from the start and doesn't let up until the very last page. The middle of the book did get a bit slow, but overall the story was pretty solid. When the person was revealed I had a feeling. I also definitely had a moment or two that I wanted to yell "Nikki! No!" LOL
Returning characters are likable and glad to catch up on them, plus the story had several twists and herrings. You could probably read this as a stand-alone but there would be a bunch of fantastic backstory that you would miss. Nikki's character especially. Good series ... not to be missed!
Many thanks to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Stacy Green for the opportunity to read this book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kesha Williams goes missing at The Mall of America and her body is found in a frozen lake. Nikki Hunt is called away from Christmas with her family to investigate her death. This is the sixth book in this great series. Has a great surprise twist ending! Many thanks NetGalley, Bookouture and Stacy Green for the opportunity to read this book. 😁
Merged review:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Kesha Williams goes missing at The Mall of America and her body is found in a frozen lake. Nikki Hunt is called away from Christmas with her family to investigate her death. This is the sixth book in this great series. Has a great surprise twist ending! Many thanks NetGalley, Bookouture and Stacy Green for the opportunity to read this book. 😁
Her Frozen Heart by Stacy Green is the sixth in the FBI Agent Nikki Hunt series.
First, let me thank NetGalley, the publisher Bookouture, and of course the author, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
Series Background: (Warning – May contain spoilers from previous books) Nikki Hunt is an FBI Agent whose parents were murdered when she was young. Their real killer is behind bars, after she helped free Mark Todd (who she originally helped incarcerate). She now lives with his brother Rory, and family dynamics are settling down. She has a young daughter (Lacey), and her ex-husband (Tyler) was murdered by a serial killer (Frost) who is also now behind bars, and is apparently Nikki's half-brother. Nikki heads the BAU unit based out of St. Paul Minnesota. Her team consists of Crime Scene Analyst Courtney Hart and Agent Liam Wilson. Her boss is Victor Hernandez.
My Synopsis: (No major reveals, but if concerned, skip to My Opinions) On Christmas Eve, Nikki is called to investigate the death of a young girl that was just found beneath a frozen lake. 17-year old Kesha Williams was last seen on Black Friday at the Mall of America, where she had been shopping with her boyfriend.
When other bodies are found buried in the nearby forest, Nikki knows that she has a serial killer on her hands. A boy from a nearby town is missing, but due to politics and bigotry, Nikki is just now hearing about it. She fears it may be too late to save Parker Jameson.
Hernandez, Nikki's boss, calls in Dr. Alex Roth, a neuroscience researcher working on mapping the brains of criminals. He will be consulting on the case.
Liam is still recovering from his concussion, and although he can't work in the field, he is still actively researching.
My Opinions: Hmm, again I'm not sure about the cover to the book. It's nice, but the butterfly necklace has no relevance to the story.
On the other hand, the plot was very good, and although I had guessed the perpetrator early on, it was still a very good journey from start to finish.
Green's writing is very straight-forward, and the book was another easy read. The pace was quite fast throughout, and it held my attention from start to finish.
Looking forward to the next one!

I was so happy to get an advanced copy of this book. Nikki is fast becoming one of my favorites. Stacy Green is such a strong voice in this genre and her characters/stories will never leave you wanting! It's Christmas and Nikki and her team are brought in on another case. This time, the killer matches no patterns and has been at it for a long time. This story will have you at the edge of your seat as Nikki and her team once again face off against a heartless killer. The story is fast-paced and the plot is full of twists and turns as Nikki once again digs into the mind games of a sociopath. A killer who hides in plain sight. I can't wait to read more from Stach Green and hopefully lots more of this character!
Read and reviewed via NetGalley for Stacy Green, Bookouture publishers and Bookouture anonymous
Publication date 13th October 2022.
This is the fifth book I have read by this author. It is also the sixthbook in the 'Nikki Hunt' series but can be read as a standalone. I have previously read 'The Girls In The Snow' which is the first book in the 'Nikki Hunt' series, 'Lost Angels' which is the third book in the series, 'The Girl In The Ground' which is the fourth book in the series and 'The Trapped Ones' which is the fifth book in this series and which I highly recommend.
I was originally drawn to this book by its gorgeous eye catching cover and its intriguing synopsis and title. The synopsis stated that this book is 'An unputdownable thriller that will keep you up all night! Fans of Lisa Regan, Kendra Elliot and Robert Dugoni will absolutely love this gripping read. ' I am a huge fan of all three of these authors so am looking forward to seeing if this lives up to this statement. I am also a huge fan of Stacy Green and if this is half as good as 'The Girls In The Snow', 'Lost Angels', 'The Girl In The Ground' and 'The Trapped Ones'. it is sure to be a page turning read. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).
This novel consists of a prologue, 23 chapters and an epilogue. The chapters are short to medium in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!
This book is set in Minnesota, USA 🇺🇸.
This book is written in first person perspective with the main protagonist is Special Agent Nikki Hunt. The benefits of third person perspective are that it let's you see the bigger picture of what's going on and you get to know more characters more, what they are thinking and what they are doing. It feels like you get to see the whole picture and not miss out in anything.
Wow!!! Yet another absolutely unputdownable addictive book in this gripping series!!! Very well written with fantastic descriptions this book had the perfect settings and a great storyline! The cover and blog suited the book perfectly.
The storyline started straight into the action and sucked me straight in where it kept me until the last page. Every time I pick up one of Stacy's absolutely addictive books in the Nikki Hunt series it feels like I have only just put the previous book down as it all comes flooding back. I may have read the previous book months or even a year ago and it just goes to show how memorable this series is and how much it stays with me. It is definitely one of my favourite book series'! This storyline is very fast paced and packed with suspense, murder, family, friends, romance, lies and an abso 2 explosive ending!! I had absolutely NO IDEA who the killer was in this book and when I found out I was absolutely gob smacked!!! At no point did I suspect them so a MASSIVE WELL DONE Stacy on yet again shocking me.. It gets harder and harder to shock me as I read so many crime books yet you manage it every single time which just goes to show what a talented author you are!! This book is absolutely addictive and I read it in one sitting. It kept me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails with my heart absolutely pounding throughout especially at the end! I really am looking forward to the next episode in what is definitely A gripping, all consuming addictive series.
Although this is the sixth book in the series there would be absolutely no problems reading it without the others. Any details or events that have previously happened are mentioned in just the right amount of detail to let a new reader know what has happened and yet not too much to bore a previous reader.
I absolutely loved meeting Nikki, Liam, Rory, Mark, Miller and Courtney again along with many other characters. This gang have become like friends to me that I miss each and every time I close the last page in one of the books in this series and thay I cannot wait to meet again!! I love the fact that the females are such strong women who are not to be messed with and Ive become completely invested in each of them including the sweet Lacey although we didn't see much of her in this book I'm looking forward to seeing her again in the next one. Although Nikki went through hell as a teenager and continued to do so in each book, especially in Lost Angels, book three in this fantastic series, she was definitely not being dragged down. She has a massive personality and her team worked well together, each having their own individuality which is always great to see. All the characters were believable and worked really well with the story. The team dynamics are perfect and they all work well together, they can laugh together and bring each other comfort and it's lovely to see a team of friends work together in a book. I have loved watching her relationship with Rory develop throughout these books and I think they make such a fantastic couple. It is so sweet how Rory takes care of her and Lacey, it's about time Nikki has some happiness in her life, she really does deserve it!! I am looking forward to meeting them all again in the next novel.
This is exactly why you are on my favourite author list Stacy and I would love to see made into a movie!!! Here's to your next success 🥂
A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS ON YET ANOTHER FANTASTIC SUCCESS STACY AND HERE'S TO MANY MORE 🍻🥂 !!!!
Overall an absolutely explosive addition to an addictive, unputdownable race pulsing series!!
Genres covered in this novel include Crime Thriller, Mystery, Romantic Suspense, Thriller, Suspense, Psychological Thriller, Romance Novel, Police Procedural and Crime Fiction amongst others.
I would recommend this book to the fans of the above as well as fans of Karin Slaughter, M. J. Arlidge, P. J. Tracy, Lisa Regan, Robert Dugoni, Kendra Elliot and anyone after an action packed crime book.
271 pages.
This book is just £1.99 to purchase on kindle or £7.99 in paperback via Amazon which I think is an absolute bargain for this book!!!
Rated 5 /5 (I LOVED it ) on Goodreads, Instagram, Amazon UK and Amazon US and on over 30 Facebook pages plus my blog on Facebook.
Feel free to add me on Goodreads or follow me on my website or Facebook for more reviews
Some men are ice fishing and they caught something completely unexpected. Sadly, it was the body of seventeen-year-old teenage Kesha Williams. There goes FBI Special Agent Nikki Hunt's Christmas. This case brings back painful memories to Nikki. As it turns out the teenager had been snatched from a local mall, a mall where Nikki's own daughter had been a target just a year ago. Not only are the parents and media raising awareness of the girl's death, they want to make sure that the case is not dropped or buried. They feel like because Kesha was black, that the case could be buried. Nikki assures everyone involved that Kesha's case will get the attention it deserves.
When the body of another girl is found, Nikki is certain that this is a case involving a serial killer, and is sure that other bodies will be turned up. In fact, evidence soon proves that this serial killer has been around for a long time. Hoping to connect the dots as quickly as possible, especially has her fears are confirmed, there are indeed more bodies, Nikki and her team turn over every stone that they can.
While this sixth book in the Nikki Hunt series could be read as a standalone, there is a lot about Nikki's past that lovers of continuity will not want to miss, so I suggest reading this series in order. This latest installment has excellent pacing, a few surprising twists and turns, a villain that I did not guess, and a riveting conclusion. Stacy Green has definitely hit it out of the park with the brilliantly written and executed Her Frozen Heart.
Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
Her Frozen Heart, book six in the brilliant Agent Nikki Hunt series returns readers to Stillwater, Minnesota. Where Nikki, her boyfriend, Rory and daughter Lacey are preparing to celebrate their first Christmas as a family unit and since the murder of Nikki's ex-husband Tyler by the serial Killer Frost.
But just as the trio are preparing to head to Rory's parents' home Nikki is called into action when the body of a missing teen is discovered in the frozen Big Marine Lake.
But the discovery opens a can of worms with different counties investigating the original disappearance and accusations of racial bias.
And when a burial site is found nearby with multiple bodies discovered Sheriff Miller, Nikki and her colleague Liam whose own health isn't 100% thanks to the last case they worked and the rest of their team realise they have a serial killer on the loose.
So, Nikki knows they have to act fast, especially with the media and families demanding answers and some local police accusing the FBI of not caring.
And with a fast-paced storyline, so much detail, and plenty of twists. This was a gripping read. That led to a breathtaking confrontation between Nikki and the killer and it's one I would happily recommend to others.
**I was kindly provided with an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**
This is such a great series but I recommend reading them in order so that you get the characters' back story. Nikki and her family are adorable and there are so many lovable characters. As usual with Stacy’s books, I had no idea who the bad guy was and was so shocked by the reveal, although it made total sense when you looked back. I was hooked until the end and look forward to more from this series.
I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
This is a great crime thriller. With a young girl’s body found under the ice, Nikki is called out to investigate. Despite having her hands and feet chopped off, Nikki and Miller realise this is Kesha, a girl who has been reported missing. The investigation takes a more serious turn when a mass grave is found in the area and when they hear a young man is also missing, they’re up against the clock to find him. This is a gripping crime thriller with a nail biting ending. Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
Her Frozen Heart by Stacy Green. Nikki Hunt Book 6. The girl’s pretty face was relaxed, snowflakes settling on her cheeks as they began to fall over the quiet frozen lake where she’d been found. Nikki Hunt books are always a hit with me, mostly because how consistent and likable all the characters are. [Get me a guy like Rory, now!]
Although I have to say this was one of the better books in the series. Held my attention and wasn’t as messy as some of the previous installments. Weird how almost all of these murderers have connections to Nikki lmao. That being said, these aren’t deep soulful books with a lot of character development, but they are easy reads and quite entertaining.
My only criticism? The ending was so rushed (I probably knew the identity of killer from miles away) -- the chase and climax could have prolonged for the better.
Absolutely loved it! Stacy Green is on top form and building serious momentum with her Nikki Hunt series.
Stacy is this rare, semi-undiscovered gem in the crime fiction world. She writes like she’s written for decades and yet this is only book 6! Her style is edgy and fast paced with lots of police procedural and criminology insight. If you love Angela Marsons then Stacy is the one to watch - this author is set for big things.
Book 6 sees a much different and changed Nikki. Slowly finding the new normal after loosing her ex husband to the Frost killer and almost her and her daughters lives. What should’ve been a bitter sweet first Christmas without Taylor turns into a serial killer man hunt. One that will test all of Nikki’s and her teams skills as this person is clever and calculating and might possibly have the upper hand.
The way in which this story unfolds is nothing short of break neck speed. It literally grabs you by the eye balls and doesn’t let go until it’s all over.
My only criticism of the book is that I felt the ending and the conclusion of the murders was too swift in comparison to the build up. It was nothing short or terrifying - don’t get me wrong it’s brilliant you won’t see it coming - but up until the ‘big reveal’ this case was almost unsolvable. Then all of a sudden… here’s your murdered, here’s your confession and evidence… and that’s the end! In all honesty it probably happened at just the right time and way. But I just enjoyed the hunt so much that I was utterly broken that the book was over.
Hurry up Stacy I need more books!
Thanks to NetGalley for my advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
It's Christmas Eve and bitterly cold in Stillwater where the snow is falling fast. FBI Special Agent Nikki Hunt is anxious about the first festive holiday after a recent bereavement but also looking forward to spending time with her daughter, friends, and family. Unfortunately when the body of a missing teenager is found all plans are put on hold and Nikki rushes to the scene.
As the FBI and local Sheriff work together an horrific discovery is made which changes the whole focus of the investigation. With a vital member of her team on restricted duties, Nikki finds herself involved in a case which stretches even her extensive experience and results in other police departments and specialist consultants getting involved. The weather remains a hindrance but time is her greatest obstacle as Nikki finds herself in a danger she isn't at all sure she can survive.
This is the sixth Nikki Hunt mystery and an absolutely excellent addition to this wonderful series. Nikki, Rory, and Lacey are evolving well as a family unit and the other familiar protagonists are all here as well. The culprit was excellently written and with hindsight there were little hints to their identity: none of which I recognised or followed up on until far too late!
There is so much to applaud in this novel from the evolution of Nikki’s character and relationships to the complexities of a case which is superbly laid out. I am in awe of the author's knowledge and ability to weave such an excellent plot which I enjoyed immensely.
I was able to read an advanced copy of this book but the opinions expressed are my own. This is an excellent must read addition to the Nikki Hunt Mystery Series
What a great book! A man innocently catches a dead body while ice fishing. It's the body of missing 17 yo Keisha. On Christmas Eve. With bare bones staff, the investigation leads to a burial ground. Another young man is missing - but are the cases connected? The suspense in this one had me grinding molars. I love the inclusion of therapy and working on personal relationships. Great job with realistic situations!
Her Frozen Heart is the 6th book in the police procedural series featuring Agent Nikki Hunt. Set in Stillwater, Minnesota, FBI Profiler/ Special Agent Nikki makes a very likeable agent. Nikki came back to Stillwater after twenty years of working away, and I first met her in book one, The Girls in the Snow.
This compelling and engaging story hots up steadily. The characters are very well portrayed and protagonist Nikki has been developed wonderfully. Nikki is resourceful, intelligent and complex and with her six-year-old daughter, Lacey at her grandparents' place for Boxing Day, and her partner Rory, caring for Lacey beforehand, Nikki can give the current case - a body found in a frozen lake - her all. Her Frozen Heart is extremely compulsive with plenty of action, reveals and a plot twist. Stacy Green's writing is a good fit for me and I was glued to the pages as I was desperate to know the outcome of the story. I’m very keen to read more in this exciting series. A very highly recommended crime thriller.
This review was written voluntarily and my rating was in no way influenced by the fact that I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel from Bookouture via NetGalley.
AUTO BUY! Read in one sitting and finished at 2 am. If you have not read Stacy Green you are doing yourself a disservice. Though each book can be read as a stand alone, I would highly recommend reading from book 1. There is so much subtle layering within the group that you miss out on what makes this series exceptional. FBI behaviorist/profiler Nikki is enjoying Christmas with Rory and her daughter Lacey. She receives a call on Christmas and knows that means something horrific. Stacy weaves the story through so many tents and does it well. Police procedural that sees what can happen within law enforcement with different factions involved. The twists and pulls within a family dynamic. Especially knowing where Nikkis growing relationship came from. The horror of murder and the steps the killer takes to enjoy his own game. A win on so many levels. The first time the killer appears on page, I knew. It was such a well done plot that I did not feel cheated in anyway. Thank you for the arc! I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. #Herfrozenheart #Nikkihunt #stacygreen #bookouture #netgalley
Nikki Hunt is back! On Christmas eve a missing girl’s body is found in a frozen lake, as it is the holidays, they are limited on staff but they need to work quickly to find out who the killer is and make sure they do not kill again. I have read all of the previous books in the series; Nikki’s relationship with Rory is great as is her relationship with Rory’s brother and his parents too. They really are a rock to her, considering what happened in the past (read previous books in the series). There were people being questioned that angered me and there were others whom I suspected and later dismissed. When the person was revealed I kind of had a feeling it would be them, they gave me a bad vibe. That said it played out very well and I was totally invested in it from the moment I started to the very end.
Stacy Green, as always, wrote a great book, which was well-paced with lots of mystery and suspense and great detail that I could imagine everywhere so clearly. I hope there will be another book in the series, I am not ready to say goodbye to Nikki just yet.
Thank you Netgalley and Bookouture for the chance to read Her frozen heart (Nikki Hunt #6) by Stacy Green. I am thrilled the author has continued this series! A young girl has been missing, but on Christmas Day Special Agent Nikki Hunt receives a phone call to say her body has been recovered. She is horrified as the girl disappeared from the mall where Nikki’s own little girl was targeted the year before. Local police think they know whose to blame but when another body shows up Nikki realizes they are looking for a serial killer, and she needs to find him fast, before he finds her. I totally recommend this book, and while it can be read as a stand alone, I think it would be better to read the entire series!
Stacy Green sharp pen and mind got me hooked from the start. Nikki is such a strong, flawed, and extraordinary character. This case feels and is in fact personal to her in several ways. It is also an extremely good case for the reader because you just fly through the pages and want more, and more and more!
More is what you get! I enjoy detective stories that have a personal connection to the Detective, and naturally the story should blow my mind. This book ticks both boxes. I can't highlight enough how good this book is!
Agent Hunt receives a call on Christmas from the Sheriff to assist when a body is found. The 6th installment of the Nikki Hunt series is a page turning, edge of your seat ride from start to finish. Nikki Hunt has become one of my favorite characters. Mystery/thriller lovers will love this series!
Her Frozen Heart by Stacy Green is the sixth book in the brilliant Nikki Hunt series and I have really enjoyed this series. This is a series that had me gripped from the very first book now to the sixth book. Its a great page turner thats full of great twists and turns throughput. I just adore the character Nikki Hunt.
I highly recommend this series and its another 5 star book.
This one was probably my least favorite of the series so far. The ending was far-fetched and Nikki's life being at stake in every finale is kinda old now. It also didn't feel like there was as much of the personal lives of the characters and I really miss that, so hopefully the last two come back around.
