Sacred
jumps right back into Sadie Ray, Dane, Wes and Rhett’s story, with continuing from the cliffhanger ending that occurred in
Sacrifice.
This story took you on a wild adventure ride through a labyrinth yet again with all that took place. It was filled with drama, suspense, mystery and explosions from secrets that are revealed as well as with the unknown past history coming to light from certain characters that just so happened to affect some of the main characters. All whilst still being an action packed thriller considering everything that went down throughout, only to lead to some OFF THE CHARTS FIREY STEAM! Given how Sadie Ray, Dane, Wes and Rhett not only couldn’t keep their hands off, but their constant need led to them wanting to get down and dirty like animals in heat, always having a need to give into their sexual desires.
With the narrative coming apart at the seams, giving us further and deeper looks into the characters of Sadie Ray, Dane, Wes and Rhett alongside some of the secondary characters given their connections/relations. There was definitely a lot more focus of emotions and feelings emerging and being the centre of attention. Especially when it came to Rhett, who always put out a tough exterior, but finally started to allow his feelings for Sadie bring out a side of him that softer and caring that he kept hidden. All for the sake of being able to please his Sadie.
At the same time a lot of the focus was on Dane too, understandably so seeing as how there was definitely a lot to unravel with him and dissect given the information that was revealed about him in
Sacred.
I liked how Caitlyn chose to show us not only different sides to Dane with him having been fractured, the results of everything he had been battling from his past to now. Of which included learning the truth in regards to who he really is and where he came from, which just so happened to involve the enemy Darren Creed. But his chosen coping mechanisms of sexual relations in order to try to push through everything with putting it behind him.
Being able to delve more into Dane as a character helped with understanding his story more, as well as bringing missing pieces together in order to get more of the bigger picture and see where and how everything fitted in together with where this narrative was heading.
My only criticism would have to be with the constant moments of steamy scenes, it led to the narrative being lost at times with having to take a back seat. All just so Sadie Ray, Dane, Wes and Rhett can fulfil their sexual desires. And while that might not necessarily be a bad thing for most. As for myself, it made the overall story lack substance to make the plot even stronger than what it was IMO.
Despite all that, I still enjoyed
Sacred
overall. Then again Caitlyn Dare always manages to win me over regardless, especially with their surprising cliffhangers.
Safe to say I will be back for
Sever
to see how everything will end because I know Caitlyn won’t disappoint!
