"Readers will swoon for this sequel . . . " ― Publishers Weekly, starred review

A new destination, a familiar spark . . .

Two years have passed since Mira and Jake missed their flight and spent a magical 24 hours together in Paris. Sparks flew. Romance bloomed. But life got in the way. When they’re reunited for another whirlwind adventure, will they connect in the same way?

Mira’s living her best life, having started a new chapter by taking a leave from her high pressure corporate position to spend time in Italy. Surrounded by amazing scenery, fantastic food and wine, and endearing locals, her life is nearly perfect―except for the thoughts of what might've been with Jake.

While Jake’s career has never been better, the move to California has been less than perfect. Still, he’s got high hopes that seeing Mira at their friends’ destination wedding can right past wrongs. Except travel has never been his strong suit, and his reunion with Mira is punctuated by another, more recent heartbreak.

When the pair collide again on the gorgeous Amalfi coast, the spark they felt in Paris is reignited, but their quest for a happy ending will surely be as rocky as the Italian coastline.

The good: The descriptions of the Amalfi Coast firmly entrenched this place at the top of my bucket list, and the tantalizing food had me drooling.

The not-so-good: Jake and Mira kept circling around to the same conversation, over and over. It felt repetitive and I started to get a little bored with it.

I needed to go to bed, but kept getting sucked in for “just one more chapter”. The story felt very unrealistic, but it was fun to read!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Update (31AUG2023): Updating this to 5⭐️. I can't stop thinking about this book and I'd re-read any time any place so that means it's actually 5⭐️ instead of 4⭐️.

----------
Whew! I predicted the ending for 24 Hours In Paris, but not for this one! The last 100 or so pages of this were a whirlwind. 🌀

I would read it again.

This book had much less lying. The (new) characters were nicely developed. It felt more realistic in some regards. It would be cool to visit some of the places mentioned in the book if they’re real. I think I laughed less at this book than the previous one.

🔥🔥 This has 1.5 open door spice scenes.

I really enjoyed this book, but I didn't agree with a lot of the Mira's decisions. I thought that the characters were extremely well written and they slow burn was perfectly paced. The real winner is the descriptions of the Amalfi Coast! It really felt like I was there with them! The food sounded delicious, and the description made it feel like I was eating it myself.

Overall, this book is good. I enjoyed it. I thought it should have moved a little quicker, but not fast. I also think it should be the second book In a series as opposed to A standalone with other books in the series. I felt quite left out at parts.

Thank you Netgalley and Romi Moondi for the opportunity to read this book. All opinions expressed are my own.

I rolled with this book assuming I could read it as a standalone, or maybe switch the order. Turns out the chemistry, backstory, and everything in the story makes no sense whatsoever without the first rendezvous, and that's on me.

I would still like to say that most of this book felt dragged and depressing. Maybe this is more realistic, but I enjoy a not so grievous version of pining with some ice breakers here and there.

Now some scenes we quite brilliant, the mini turning points, which kept me reading till the end. In specific I loved the scene at the beach which is light hearted and also a shift in the story.

Wow.
I don't even really have words.

I am not normally a romance reader, I am new to the genre, but this series/duology has converted me!
I absolutely love the writing, the banter between the 2 main characters, the description of the scenery, and Italy in general. It makes me want to pack my hacks and leave today!

I can't wait to read all of your books ❤️

This book is difficult to review. I think it is well written, and the setting is glorious. It's Italy, so it should be!

I liked the character of Jake. He seemed like a person I'd know in real life, genuine yet flawed.

But Mira is the problem. I think I'm supposed to genuinely like her, and feel for her, and understand and love her. But she's just so unlikable.

"She longed for and dreaded his words in equal measure." (251)

The worst part is, I don't think she's supposed to be. Sorry, Mira, but it's a no from me.

24 Hours in Italy was everything I could have hoped for and so much more.

I really loved Romi’s 24 Hour in Paris. It felt like this delicious and unforgettable love letter to the City of Light. It is also a book I plan on re-reading before I go to Paris to visit some of the sights Mira and Jake visited. I was excited to get my hands on Romi’s next book, 24 Hours in Italy, because the Amalfi Coast is another place that is on my bucket list, and I knew Romi’s description of this place was going to have me wanting to pack my bags and visit this gorgeous location. Readers, I am here to tell you that Romi did not disappoint me with this book. Like most rom-coms, you don’t have to read the first book to understand what is happening in this book. Romi does an amazing job at bringing readers up to speed. Fans of the previous book will be excited to hear that many of the previous book’s characters make appearances in this book.

I’m always amazed at how masterful Romi is at transporting her readers to these magical places. I felt like I was exploring the Amalfi Coast with Mira and Jake. I adore that Romi will often explore those small and not always super tourist spots; she really brings to life those hidden gems that often get overlooked. Of course, the food talk in this book is out of this world. Mira’s passion for delicious food is infectious, and all I wanted to do was cook up some Italian food and eat until I burst at the seams.

One of the many things I love about this book is its fast pace. The bulk of this book takes place in 24 hours, and a lot happens in those 24 hours. Because things are moving so quickly, I become so engrossed with what is happening that before I know it, I am over halfway done with the book, and all I want to do is keep on reading because I want to know what will happen next. It is an addictive read. Plenty is going on in this book. We have the wedding between Eloise and Dembe, which has its own drama, we have fun secondary stories happening, and of course, all that delicious tension between Mira and Jake.

The romance in this book is all about second chances, forced proximity, and even a love triangle. All of these tropes blend together to make one fabulous love story. Mira and Jake’s relationship fizzles out at the beginning of this book. Life throws Mira an unexpected curve ball, which causes her to break things off with Jake. But like any good rom-com, neither Mira nor Jake can really move on, so when they meet up again in Italy, it’s hard not to see the chemistry between them. There are many will they, won’t they moments between these two, which had me turning the page because I wanted to see who would make the first move. I love Mira and Jake together; they just make sense as a couple in my mind. There is a lot of hurt and uncertainty between these two, and I enjoyed watching them rekindle their romantic relationship. Overall, I thought Romi knocked this love story out of the park.

24 Hours in Italy is an addictive rom-com that will leave you feeling very satisfied.

"24 HOURS IN ITALY" by Romi Moondi is a captivating romance fiction novel that beautifully weaves together the themes of love, destiny, and second chances. From the moment I delved into the pages of this book, I was swept away by the enchanting tale of Mira and Jake's reunion!
.
The blurb sets the stage for a compelling story that explores the powerful connection between two individuals who missed their chance at love. The author skillfully transports readers back to the magical streets of Paris, where Mira and Jake's initial encounter ignited a flame that refused to be extinguished. The anticipation builds as they are brought together once again, this time on the breathtaking Amalfi coast, where the stunning scenery serves as a metaphor for the tumultuous journey that lies ahead!
.
What sets Romi apart is her ability to infuse the story with genuine emotions. The characters feel authentic, with relatable strengths and vulnerabilities. Mira's internal conflict, torn between her idyllic life in Italy and the lingering thoughts of what could have been with Jake, tugs at the heartstrings. Meanwhile, Jake's personal and professional struggles in his new surroundings add layers of complexity, making him a deeply empathetic character.
.
The chemistry between Mira and Jake is palpable, and as their paths intertwine once again, the sparks reignite, setting the stage for a rollercoaster ride of emotions. The author expertly balances moments of passion and tenderness with moments of heartbreak and self-discovery, keeping readers on the edge of their seats. This was 5/5 read and definitely looking forward to read more from this outstanding Author!

I absolutely loved this sequel, and what a sequel at that! Romi Moondi has weaved a heartwarming love story set against the backdrop of one of the most romantic countries in the world with two of my favourite characters, Jake and Mira. It’s a whirlwind romance through the picturesque landscapes and delectable cuisines of Italy (…and I am going to have to try that lemon pesto spaghetti recipe at the back of the book! If you know you know, and if you don’t then start reading!).

What I love about this book is that there is so much authenticity and realism in the love story. Romi has skillfully portrayed the complexities and uncertainties that come with reconnecting with a lost love. The emotions are relatable and raw, and it was hard not to become emotionally invested in their journey.

What I also love about this book is that the focus isn’t just on Jake & Mira but also provides a captivating side story involving their friends, Eloise & Dembe. Their own journey adds an extra layer or depth and realism, offering a different side on love and relationships which enriches the experience of reading the book.

And not to mention, the descriptions of the Amalfi Coast are so vivid that you'll swear you've been transported there. She's got a passion for Italy and its food that shines through every word.

The book's pacing keeps you engaged from start to finish! 24 Hours in Italy is a perfect blend of romance, travel, and mouthwatering culinary experiences. I highly highly recommend!!!

By: Romi Moondi
Review Score: 3 1/2 Stars

Five Key Feels

-The scenery of this book is BEAUTIFUL.

-I love that Mira researches food places to add special touches to her travels.

-Eloise seems like a good friend, no matter what crazy antics are occurring.

-It was fun to see such a beautiful destination wedding from Mira and Jake’s eyes.

-I loved the chemistry between Mira and Jake, but I wish they had communicated more!

——

24 Hours in Italy was kindly provided as an ARC by Netgalley and Wattpad Webtoon Book Group. Thank you for allowing me to read this wonderful book!

Release Date: 7/18/23

24 Hours in Italy was a whirlwind of a story. Following Mira’s path from the US back to Italy, and then having her come face to face with Jake was a lot in a small amount of time.

With that being said, I loved the chemistry between Mira and Jake. They obviously had very strong feelings for each other, even after all that time.

I do wish they had simply communicated more. Mira’s existential crisis as far as why she feared a relationship seemed a bit far fetched for me. And the back and forth on how both of them felt for each other was hard to follow at times.

Regardless, I loved this story. It was such a beautiful setting, full of fun and complex characters. You do not need to read the first book to get into this one.

In "24 HOURS IN ITALY" Moondi masterfully crafts a narrative that tugs at the heartstrings and stirs the soul. Two years have passed since Mira and Jake missed their flight, leaving behind a connection that still lingers in their hearts. The author skillfully immerses readers in the picturesque city of Italy, where sparks flew and a romance blossomed between Mira and Jake during their magical 24 hours together.
.
Now, fate reunites them in another breathtaking setting, as Mira embarks on a new chapter of her life in Italy, surrounded by stunning scenery, tantalizing cuisine, and charming locals. Moondi's vivid descriptions transport readers to the heart of Italy, evoking a sense of wanderlust and a desire to savor the flavors of the Mediterranean.
.
Mira's decision to take a leave from her high-pressure corporate job and indulge in the beauty of Italy adds depth to her character, resonating with those who yearn for adventure and self-discovery. Meanwhile, Jake's thriving career takes him to California, yet his move is not without its challenges. The author expertly explores their individual struggles, creating characters that feel authentic, relatable, and imbued with both strengths and vulnerabilities.
This is my favorite romance book of the Year that I highly recommend it to everyone!

I read 24 hours in Italy directly after 24 Hours in Paris and that helped a lot-a lot happened in the first book that impacted the second book and made it easier to understand. I absolutely love the scenery that the author describes in these books. You truly fill like you are in the city the book takes place in-between the descriptions of the food and drinks and the imagery explained, the background is perfect for the book.

The couple on the other hand is just okay. I liked the plot line of the relationship (i.e. what happened at the end of the first book and how it impacted them in the second book) and I loved Jake’s characters. He was a very supportive partner, bringing positive energy and comfort into the story. Mira is not nearly as great of a character. I found her personality to be negative, and her thought process to be selfish.

A lot of the reason why they went around and around in their relationship was because of her lack of communication. If she had been more direct, the problems would have been easily solved. That being said, it did add tension to the book that kept it moving forward. I enjoyed the storyline in the end and would defiantly recommend the series-just be prepared to be a little annoyed along the way!

Review:

This is the second book in the 24 Hours series and it was just as cute and fun as the first, but with the added depth of their existing relationship. I read this book while I was in Italy and it was so great reading while I could so vividly picture the scenes. I even ate at one of the same restaurants mentioned in this book! I love that Mira is a bold FMC and stands up for what is important to her - too often, we read FMCs who give up on something or change themselves to fit someone's expectation of them in a relationship, but Mira does no such thing. Highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a quick "trip" to Paris and Italy.

This is the sequel to 24 hours in Paris, where Mira and Jake had missed their flight and spent an amazing 24 hours together. Now, after two years they are reunited. The chemistry between them is just as strong as before, creating a sweet passion that will warm your heart. Although these two meet again, and the sparks between them are still burning strong, life has happened in the years they were apart and their road to happiness is not straightforward. Filled with many twists and turns, they still face many ups and downs which kept me engaged and anxiously turning the pages to see how it all turns out. The author did a really nice job of creating realistic characters that you can relate to and connect with emotionally. And the descriptions of the Amalfi coast were simply wonderful and breathtaking. You can clearly picture everything in your mind!
A heartfelt story that kept me turning the pages - I'm looking forward to reading more of this author's work.

Thank you to the author and the publisher, Wattpad WEBTOON Book Group, for sharing a copy of this book with me on NetGalley !!!

Part two of 24 hours in Paris but it is been 2 years since Mira and Jake met and decided that what they had was worth exploring. From lovers to strangers to lovers again. Quite complicated but so worth the wait !!!!
Their story was white compelling and you want to be there when they finally realise that what they have, they can’t find in others. After being away from each other for a long time, they’ll meet each tiene again in Italy. Everything can happen by this point!!!!!
Sweet, funny and with a lot of unfinished business !!!
Mira and Jake are quite unique both as a couple and as single characters. And their relationship somehow proves that. It was quinte a fun time, reading about them and exploring Italy in 24 hours with them!
This book was really good and I’m so glad I had the chance to read it !!!

Having not read the first book to this follow up 24 Hours in Paris, I was worried I would be out of the loop on the characters and considering its a romance, feeling left out on the romance. However, when I started this book, the tension and desire between Mira and Jake was palpable. I immediately felt that these two characters were special to each other and I felt the angst right away. The setting of the Amalfi coast where Mira and Jake reunite after two years, was the dreamiest backdrop for the continuation of their story. As I got to know Mira, she became a character I related so much to which is always appreciated as a reader. This story was fun, emotional, fast paced yet provided the sweetest stolen moments. The side characters were lovely and supported both Mira and Jake while being on their own journeys. Like Kwento and Ricardo and Dembe and Eloise. All in all, I devoured this book in 24 hours and it was the perfect backyard, summer read. 4 stars!

The only reason I finished this book is because I actually bought it for full price in an airport last summer and it got water damage so no point in using the lifetime exchange program to get some of the money back. It's too bad, because I chose it for a light travel read partly because it was written by a Canadian author. I started this in August but had to restart because I quit reading it so long ago.

I didn't think the story telling was that great, it was rather formulaic, and the humour didn't work for me, and not only because a significant part of of it involved getting drunk. I just don't find drunk people funny and I'm not even anti-alcohol even though I can't stand the taste of any alcohol (genetic), but humour is subjective, but I see now that this book isn't rated that highly--the first one is lower which is probably because, unlike me, most people who read this one liked the first book of this duology.

This was an absolutely perfect second book for Jake and Mira.

After life got in the way following their Paris trip, Mira moves to Italy to find herself, gets herself an Italian fling, and Jake gets himself an L.A. girl…and then their friends from the Paris picnic get married and guess who’s in close proximity again?!?!

I absolutely love these two. Mira lives the life she wants (and needs), and is brave in so many ways. Jake finally listens to his inner voice and starts to find himself too. The writing is perfect—the characters are both flawed and personable. The setting is almost poetically beautiful. The adventures being had are life-changing ones for any of the characters in the book.

I was hoping I would love this book after falling completely head over heels for Mira and Jake in the first, and I definitely did!

Thanks to NetGalley and the author for a review copy!

I really enjoyed Mira's and Jakes relationship. I didn't read the first book but I liked how this was a second chance romance because they connected and fell in love in Paris before and fell out of touch. I loved the destination wedding theme in Italy.
Where Mira and Jake were attending their best friends wedding. I loved all the descriptions of food that was mentioned from the pasta to the deserts. I also did enjoy the drama of the love triangles going on with both Mira and Jake. I kind of didn't connect with Mira as a character because she seemed really impractical to me and kind of all over the place I kind of resonated more with Jake because he's kind of a mixer driven person with plans so there were times I was a little frustrated with Mira's indecisiveness.Overall this was a really fun read.

Following 24 Hours in Paris, Moondi has once again written a book that completely transports the reader to a vibrant vacation filled with enticing sights, tastes and experiences. The author's passion for Italy and food is palpable, and it's wonderful to see Mira and Jake back for some new adventures (with plenty of drama to keep you on your toes!). Moondi is a master of creating tension and throwing curveballs, and does it all in her one-of-a-kind voice.

The combo of vivid descriptions, electric dialogue, and heartfelt tender moments is perfection. Also, bonus content!! I love that the author includes a unique pasta recipe that I can't wait to try out, and some travel tips for Amalfi too. This book will make you hungry for pasta and love :P

So fun to read this next adventure of Mira and Jake! Moondi says that it's their finale but I want more! I would not necessarily select an Italian wedding romcom whilst searching Netflix, but 24 Hours in Italy kept me turning the pages. Mira's little italicized existential throwaways, her hilarious chatter with her about-to-be-wedded friend Eloise, plus Jake's irresistible gravitation toward her made this book delicious on every level. Literally! Mira and Jake torture each other a fair amount, but manage to enjoy a destination wedding trip together as former lovers (avec baggage!), each enjoying all the flavor and fragrance of this beautiful place called Amalfi. It really is quite swoony, and the ending, while quite satisfying, just makes me want more.

There are so many good rom com books out there, and this definitely isn’t one of them. Don’t waste your time on this one. I’d give this half a star if I could.

This book read like it was written by a high schooler. Simple sentence construction, basic ideas, paragraphs that read like a textbook. “I thought the food looked good. So I ordered it. It was good.” The plot is so ridiculous it isn’t even remotely believable. None of the characters are likable- you aren’t rooting for any of them. Their problems were written in such a way that just screams “this character is a drama queen.” The only positive thing I can say about the book is that the author clearly did their research before writing the book.

This was a great "travel escape" book: the description of Italy and the food were amazing. Although Italy has never been high on my to-go list, it's definitely moved up a couple spots because of this book.

I loved both characters in this book, but agree with other reviewers that they dragged out the resolution of their relationship for quite a bit. Also, this book takes place after two years of the characters not seeing each other, and that fact is repeated ad nauseum: I don't know if I'll ever see "two years" and "24-hours" and not think of this book.

But I still absolutely enjoyed the read and was invested to read how it ended (obviously knowing in general how it would end, ha!).
