I’ve been in love with Ellie Wentworth for more than half my life. Have I ever said a word? Not a chance.
She’s made it clear more than once she doesn’t see me like that, most notably that time she rejected a mistletoe kiss in front of my entire family. Message received.
So, we’ve stayed friends. And long-distance ones, at that. Her pursuing her nursing career while caring for her sick grandpa, and me mixing up world-class craft beers at my family’s brewery.
But now she’s back—looking better than she ever has—and she’s staying in my guest room while she looks for a place of her own. The thing is … I don’t want her to leave. In fact, I want her. Us. Everything. And after a joke about testing the waters results in the best kiss of my life, I’ll stop at nothing to show her it’ll be worth the risk to our friendship.
But Ellie knows loss as well as I know her, so when things get more intense than we anticipated, she wants to run. Can I finally convince her some things are important enough to stay and fight for? Or will the threat of another loss keep her from giving us a chance?
Knowing you is a sexy small-town romance written in first person/dual POV featuring a nurse returning home and the brewmaster Walker brother who has always loved her. Ellie and Jake’s story is the first book in the Walker Brothers Brewery series, but it can be fully enjoyed as a standalone.
I really enjoyed this story which focuses on Jake Walker and his best friend Ellie Wentworth. I appreciated the previous story or prequel, so we were able to meet the Walker family and now it’s Jake’s turn to maybe find true love. Jake and Ellie are best friends and while they haven’t seen each other for a while they still stay connected with calls/texts and facetime. Ellie has been in Florida taking care of her sick grandpa but now she’s back in Granite Springs and ready to start a new job. When she shows up it’s at the engagement party that ended the prequel book. She’s been told by Jake’s mom that she can stay with her until she finds something, but his mom springs a surprise on both Ellie and Jake that Will is coming home so Ellie can’t stay with her anymore but suggests she stays with Jake since he has the room. You gotta love Mamma Walker and her matchmaking skills because that was a blatant display right there. Interestingly enough however Ellie and Jake have been secretly crushing on each other for a while and who knows where a kiss or more might lead. I wasn’t expecting Ellie’s secret that she shared with Jake, but she knew what she wanted and held firm to that. I really liked this story and just when I thought things were good, we hit a bump. I was glad that Ellie showed up when she did but unfortunately with what she had just dealt with with her grandpa what happened kind of threw her and I understand her wanting to step back a little bit. I did appreciate Will stepping up and talking to Ellie and kind of putting everything in perspective and it was exactly what she needed in the situation. I’m glad that things got back on track for Ellie and Jake, and I totally loved the ending for them. Great Story. I’m intrigued for the next book since it’s a second chance romance which is one of my favorites and it’s for Will and Kate. I think there’s a lot to unpack there for both of them and it’ll be interesting to see what happens.
This was so boring. I had no feeling for either mc they were so bland and dull. In fact i just didnt see the point of this story, there was no real plot, it could have been a very short novella. Boys been in love with his best friend his whole life, she moves away, the comes back, they end up being room mates, they get together, add in a bit of last minute drama, the end.

What a sweet best friends to lovers romance (with 🔥 too). Ellie and Jake are such a great couple & I loved getting to see some of their history together as life long friends. They've both been through a lot, but the way they found each other again was lovely. Great read!
