Life is full of twists, turns and surprises… and so is love.
Harper is single and her career is in the slumps, so she isn’t looking forward to her high school reunion. But, when a friend convinces her to go, her life suddenly takes a turn when the dream guy from high school hits on her after all these years. She’s flattered at first, but as the days go on, this dream guy’s story doesn’t check out, creating suspicion that he may actually be a nightmare. Fortunately, Harper has Bitty, a friend and mother-figure, who helps her get her career on track and discover that love and happiness is sometimes hidden where you least expect to find it.
Ellen lives in a small town in New England, between the Atlantic Ocean and the White Mountains. She lives with her husband, two sons, and one very spoiled puppy princess.
Ellen writes in the early morning hours before her family wakes up. When she's not writing, you can find her spending time with her family, gardening with her puppy and chickens, or headed to the beach. She loves summer and flip-flops, running on a dirt country road, and a sweet love song.
All of her stories are clean romances where families are close, neighbors are nosy, and the couples are destined for each other.

I didn’t enjoy Harper’s story as much as the first three books. I think it was because Harper’s personality seemed different in this book. She suddenly seemed insecure and over sensitive. I still loved the story because reading these books is like visiting family. These characters are all so wonderful even if they all seem to start out with a chip on their shoulder.
Harper’s story wasn’t as convincing as the previous books, first of all, her character is very different and the relationship with her father was one of my favorite things about this series , it was also different from the previous three books, even the romance wasn’t convincing. For some reason, this author starts the stories with a rude heroine, I’m not sure why but it’s off putting at the beginning of the book , Harper wasn’t rude until she became a heroine in a book. Maybe this book wasn’t as good as the previous books in the series but I did enjoy listening to it.
Another fantastic addition to the Cliffside Point series. I absolutely loved "Home on the Harbor" by Ellen Joy. This series has been such a needed escape for me this summer. This author has the amazing talent of writing such engaging characters that you want to know in real life. Each story is fresh and full of twists and a wide range of emotions. This book gives us Harper's story and it doesn't disappoint. I also love how Bitty is a major part of this story - it's like two books in one. I'm thrilled to find out that there will be more books in this amazing series! I cannot wait. If you are looking for an amazing series to add to your collection - look no further. Really - any book by this author is worth the read. Happy Reading...enjoy!
Ellen Joy's Cliffside Point series is very special, they all feel like family. Was great to continue to read and get to know more about them with more focus on specific people. Harper has been going through a lot, so good to see how Ellen's friend, Bitty, stepped up to the role of friend/mother to be there for her and support her, sometimes with a listening ear and some advice and at other times just having fun together. Rene and Mateo had their beautiful wedding and all stepped up to make it a beautiful day and . I love how Lilah and Andrew were drawn in and became a part of the friends to family. This is a clean and beautiful romance, however it's much more than just a romance book. Get the book, and if you haven't read the other books in the series, get them as well. I appreciate that it is a clean read. I received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
The fourth book in this series has all of the characters come back with big appearances. While this may hold Harper's love story, it also holds the love story of the whole family (blood and chosen)- the love story of how these characters found each other and rely on each other. While the romance is sweet, the greater meaning comes from how these women are light to each other and can rely on each other. Reading about their struggles and will to survive makes me want to reach out to those around me so they know I have their backs and love them.
Overall- I wish I could have seen more of Harper's love story. There is so much to her back story and understanding who she is as a person that I felt a little gypped on seeing her happily ever after. To seeing the characters fall in love after they came around to enjoying each other's company. Maybe we will see more of that in the next book!
Martha Vinyard MS Didn’t like Harper in this book, she was always so nice upbeat in the other books and her relationship with her father was zip, to much of the book was on her negativity. Then not enough when she fell in love. She has writers block can’t get going on 2 book. She is kicked out of her apt. Over the pizza place. Feels like is is a wall flower, not important to her family Her and Bitty go out and drink to much and form a close relationship. Bitty starts working for a prominent family of the island, taking care of 90+ Robert he is a case and they get along well. He is the grandfather of Andrew who has had a crush on Harper since HS. Andrew takes them all out in the boat. Harper is warming up to him. Renee and Mateo get married. Bitty asks her son Drake to come visit he says yes.
This book was a great addition to the series. I enjoyed learning more about Harper and how her mom's leaving when she was a child still affected her as an adult. It was so nice that she had really struck up a friendship with Bitty who was doing some soul searching of her own. The two women seemed to be able to help each other and were finally able to deal with their struggles and find hope along the way.
I liked how I could see and feel the characters growing as I read the book. Randy was so funny and seemed to give Bitty's life a purpose as she took care of him. Everything seemed to move full circle after that. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
I loved this book and I am loving this series. In book one we met Charlie and Evelyn. Charlie has an adult daughter, Harper. She's the main focus of this book. While all the others make their appearances, this story centers on Harper and Bitty as everyone gets ready for Mateo and Renee's wedding.
Each of these books is a love story of sorts, whether it's the love between a couple, parents and children, friends discovering a sisterhood or siblings. This one also adds a grandparent.
I love the characters in these books. - their interactions, insecurities, strengths, and vulnerabilities. Most of all their heart.
Harper is given an eviction notice right after her high school reunion. Unfortunately she ran into her nemesis and her brother. Bitty needs to find a job and someplace to live. This book focuses on both Harper and Bitty. But, there is a lit of catching up with the others. Love the friendship between Harper and Bitty and how Andrew helped Harper with her writer's block. Sweet Romance with wholesome characters and a heartwarming story. Really enjoy Ellen Joy's books.
I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Ellen Joy never disappoints. This series is hard to put down. The characters are well balanced,a storyline is well thought out, reaches out to you, made me reexamine lifes events and keeps me wanting for another book in this series. Can't wait to read Biddies story next! I love her character. Heck I love all the characters! Please keep writing more wonderful, thought provoking stories!
I have enjoyed this series so much, its about family, friends, finding love and healing, both emotional and physically. The characters are kind, generous, thoughtful, not perfect and they know it but they give of themselves to help others. I highly recommend this series if you are looking for a sweet, clean small town romance.
I really enjoyed this series of books. Getting to know each character was like meeting another family member. It was so good I read all four books in 5 days. Waiting for the granddaughters to fall asleep so I could jump in bed and finish the next one! I usually don’t read series books. I think I’m hooked now! I can’t wait for the next one! Any recommendations for my next series? TY
I was thinking why Harper was the brown Adirondack!
I liked this book but was having a hard time with Harper. Harper struggled very hard to find herself and it wasn't until the end that she let some color and light open up her life. Looking forward to seeing whose story is next.Enjoy!
Loving how the author Ellen Joy includes all the people in each and every book while making one person’s story stand out. Friends become family and continue to rally around each other! Love this series!!
I've read all 7 in the series. At the end of the 7th book it goes onto say there's a sequel to the 7th. I can't find it anywhere on Amazon. Can anyone tell me how to locate it? I'd appreciate it. My email is bcosmark@yahoo.com
I love happy endings with honest characters who have their own authentic struggles. This one was a nice change because I honestly wasn’t sure what happy was going to look like
The characters are very likable and supportive in all their relationships. This story is full of ups and downs that readers can relate with. On to the next book enjoy.
A great romance series set on Martha's Vineyard at Cliffside Point, about a group of friends and family, their relationships, friendships and a touch of romance.
If you like getting lost in a series, this one is for you, also the Camden Cove series by the same author.
The 4th book in this delightful series, the books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and series.
