What would you do if you were stranded 100 Miles from your family and home when disaster struck?
Ben Walker’s family means everything to him. So when an EMP decimates the power grid and he has to cross 100 treacherous miles to get to them, he doesn’t hesitate to hit the road. His journey proves that when the unthinkable happens, it can bring out the best—and the worst—in people.
Follow his journey home from the mines near Gillette, Wyoming to the Black Hills of South Dakota in this exciting sequel to 75 Miles.
Robyn VanDerSys was born in Washington State, which is where her love for the great outdoors was born. She has lived in several different states and has now settled in the Black Hills of South Dakota with her husband and kids.
Her life has consisted of one adventure to the next, including racing monster trucks in her early twenties, raising three strong children, riding around Mexico on her four wheeler while living out of a backpack, driving a school bus for a living, and volunteering on a chase team while her husband raced the Baja 1000.
She spends her free time off-roading and hiking the many trails of the Black Hills, and also enjoys traveling and having as many adventures as humanly possible.
The first book in this series, 75 Miles, wasn’t a fluke - the second one is great, too. This writing team delivers! I love this family, their neighbors, and their friends. Can’t wait for number three.
This is a sequel to the 75 miles book. We had to revisit the explanation about the EMP quite a bit, though I suppose in a real scenario, someone like Ben would encounter a lot of folks with no idea what was really going on. It did bog the story down a bit. A lot of the story is fairly standard with people needing to get home, druggies and gangsters causing mayhem, etc. I liked Ben for the most part and the fact that he and his coworkers banded together to help each other get home. His willingness to take on a sweet, mentally-challenged man was commendable too. I was very surprised that Audra was willing to leave her 12-year-old daughter home alone all night, while she tried to see if she could find the 16-year-old daughter who was away from home. Wow. There were times that it seemed like things were building to have something happen, but then nothing did. There was also the frequent comments at the end of chapters and sections that foretold what was going to happen or what to expect; takes the fun out of it. Just like 75 Miles, this book had a need to slag Bernie Sanders in a way that was not really part of the story...just a need to snark I guess. Ben also had a tirade about the country going downhill, presumably the fault of liberals. The end of the book, is Sam retelling all of her story that we read in the first book. I do actually remember things from book to book, so that was tedious.
With the termination and planning specially if you have a go bag you can get home.
Ben was looking for his family trapped 100 miles from his home determined to walk home. Along the way he has a variety of adventures his wife Audrey who is working in town had to get home and she too trying to find their daughter Sam Had experiences. Sam finally make At home just read the book and see
Book two was just as good as book one!!! If you like books that keep you on your toes and on edge the whole time then these books are a definite 👍 👌 💯 I didn't make it through the second one as fast as I had the first but, I struggled to put this one down just as much if not more than the first one.
This was a great read with average people trying to survive. I enjoyed the fact that it didn’t have a person from the special forces or millionaires that had the money to have all kinds of weapons and supplies. It is a lot like my first book I just published, “I Just Want to Get Home” by Wes Pruitt
This series is top notch! Real believable characters, lots of action and plausible solutions. Only one complaint....page 128,last paragraoh....misuse of the word ACCOSTED!!! Took me two hours to get past it and finish the book!
This is what you get when smart writers get together. A great read with plenty of excitement, interesting characters and full of useful information for when the SHTF. Already looking forward to the next book...no pressure 😉
This book can be read as a stand alone but it's actually better if you read 75 miles first. After reading the first book I mentioned in my review that it would be great to have a sequel. Worth the wait.
The books 75 and 100 miles were very entertaining. You really get into the characters and almost feel with them. Never thought I would enjoy reading about a 16 yr. Old girl getting home. I hope there are more follow up b
The author has created an excellent parallel story to her first on 75 miles. This time following events from the perspective of Sam's parents and family. Well worth your time to read.
I read 75 Miles and 100 Miles. Thoroughly enjoyed both books. Characters in both books were believable and likable. Story line kept me intrigued and I had a hard time putting these books down. Not too grim. Not too much violent detail.
A great read on a very difficult subject. Good plot, characters and character development! I definitely am recommending purchase of a fine read. (Be sure to read Book 1 also: 75 miles!)
This is the perfect continuation of the story drafted! in 75 miles. Well written and exciting with believable characters and realistic situations. I recommended it!!
I really enjoyed reading this two book series. In fact, I binge read both books since I had a hard time putting it down. I highly recommend this to SHTF enthusiasts!
Really enjoyed finding out the flip side of Sam's story, learning what her mom and dad were going through. Cowboy was a wonderful surprise and a great addition.
