The wonder of the created cosmos is that it is indeed a tapestry -a carefully planned patterns of dark threads and light- and not merely a random collection of billiard balls following chaotic pathways through a mindless ocean of space, as 20th century science would have us believe. The source Hilarion, writing this book through the pen of Maurice B. Cooke, takes you on a fantastic backward through time to glimpse secrets that lie buried under the dust of ages, upward into a cosmic awareness that dwarfs the petty concerns of everyday, and inward to the seat of divinity that waits patiently within each of us for the inevitable day of discovery. With this quiet humour, and the same gentle widsom that runs like a golden thread through all of his writings, Hilarion shows us the earth from his own perspective -shows that it is a precious experiment soon to give forth its richest a civilization that can manifest the love of God at the level of man.
Hilarion (i.e., Maurice B. Cooke) wrote in the Prologue to this 1985 book, “we propose to lay before the reader a view of himself and his little world which compares to the perspective that humanity’s highest guides enjoy… We must use an earth-based language… while attempting to project thoughts which belong to a much higher plane of being. But it has been decided to make this attempt, primarily because of the other material that has been passed through this channel. That material may be viewed as a preparation for the mind-expansion that we will here attempt to produce. For this reason we recommend that the reader, before proceeding further into this book, be already familiar with the perspectives set out in our earlier transmissions… The present book will be… dealing with different aspects of the human condition, each one attempting to offer a more spiritual perspective than is normally available on the earth plane. A reading of this book will be facilitated if the reader tries to imagine that he is one of the great Guardians who have responsibility for the race called mankind, wrestling with problems which humanity present and sharing in the decisions. We expect that by the end of this book, the reader will find his approach to life very much altered.”
‘He’ explains in the first chapter, “From the perspective of a guides of humanity, every physical form is a vehicle through which a spiritual being or spiritual essence expresses itself. Indeed, forms at the material level have no other purpose than to act as instruments to allow spiritual essence to manifest, experience its own being and the results of its own actions, and learn about its true nature. It follows then that ALL forms must be used in this same way. Hence, NOTHING IS DEAD.” (Pg. 1)
He continues, “In a sense, the integrated nature of the physical body itself is able to weld together into a single unit the multitude of ‘intelligences’ possessed by the various parts and organs---even the very atoms themselves---which constitute the body. And this welded-together unit must be looked on as distinct from the soul-projection or personality which also inhabits it (during waking hours). The existence of this body-intelligence helps to explain certain otherwise puzzling occurrences. For instance, in the excellent book ‘Autobiography of a Yogi,’ there is related a strange experience of the author. He goes to visit a revered older yogi at a time shortly before the latter’s death… the author finds the old yogi trembling in fear… of his own imminent demise… the fear originated not in the old yogi’s conscious personality, but rather in the far more rudimentary consciousness of his BODY… The body recognized that physical meant the end of its own integrated self-ness… However, the integrated-ness of the body’s rudimentary intelligence does not immediately cease as soon as the spiritual inhabitant (the personality-consciousness) has fled. Instead it lingers on, seeking to retain its unitary wholeness… the experience teaches the spiritual essence of that rudimentary intelligence the desirability or remaining in existence…” (Pg. 2-3)
He continues, “In order for human souls to be able to incarnate on the earth, there must be an existing, reproducing life-form available. With rare exceptions, the only method by which a soul belonging to the life-stream of humanity can enter into physical manifestation as a human being is that of normal birth … If the latter life-form should become extinct, such manifestation or ‘incarnation’ would no longer be possible.” (Pg. 7)
He states, “You see how far the race has advanced in terms of its grasp of technique, and its comprehension of theory regarding the structure and uses of matter. However, the truth is that, without the generous help of many advanced races, groups and beings, all of mankind today would still be wondering how to start that first fire… the help has some through advanced non-human entities who incarnated as human beings… Most of the important contributors to science---the great inventors like Copernicus and Newton---were in this category… all of the significant developments in medicine were made by entities who had come to earth from other realms to benefit the human race.” (Pg. 26-27)
He asserts, “When the time came for this life-stream (the Great Being..) to enter upon its experience at the level of man, many decisions had to be made as to the place that the life-form would inhabit, and the characteristics of the form itself. In the early stages of humanity, the form was essentially an aetheric one… As such, it consisted primarily of aetheric organs, including a single eye, but these components bore little resemblance to the present physical make-up of the human being.” (Pg. 37)
He states, “As this book will shortly be read by races other than earth humanity, we will address only the latter when we say: appreciate the form you have; give thanks to those who so carefully designed it; strive always to feed it with pure food, pure thoughts and pure thoughts and pure emotions. It is the temple in which you have invited God to live.” (Pg. 47)
He says, “The cosmic design proceeds by stages, and for the earth realm the progression moves in steps of twelve: the twelve zodiacal ages in each Great Year of 26,000 normal years. Hence each age lasts a little over 2,000 years on average…” (Pg. 62)
He asserts, “Although distinct national groupings have characterized mankind’s civilization for the whole of RECORDED history, there were vast stretches of time prior to the existing records when no such divisions were apparent… During those earlier eras, the principal civilization was called Lemuria or ‘Mu’… this being succeeded by Atlantis… These civilizations did have colonies in other parts of the globe from time to time, but none of them broke away from the motherland to form independent groups… With the sinking of Atlantis, a new era was inaugurated, called the Time of nations. During this new period, it was intended that mankind would fragment itself into distinct national groupings.” (Pg. 71-72)
He contends, “In our book, ‘Dark Robes, Dark Brothers,’ we explain the nature, purpose and techniques used by the entities who seek always to draw human beings away from the True Path… The Dark Forces are strongly entrenched in the field of rock music generally… Yet, the Forces of Light have made some inroads into the rock music field. The so-called ‘gospel rock’ is an attempt to introduce religious themes to this elementary music… Another gift to mankind was that of the written word… this gift has been perverted by the Dark Forces… one of the most deplorable genres of present-day popular fiction is the ‘romantic novel’… There are many other forms of degenerate writing now available on the shelves…. Another gift to mankind has been the invention of the moving picture… the Dark Forces have had a considerable hand in their production… In the past few years, however, several pictures have worked primarily for the Forces of Light. ‘Close Encounters’ was one…” (Pg. 87-89)
The book concludes, “Lastly, remember that you are the torch-bearers of a new order of love on the earth. Though the details of the new civilization have yet to be worked out, it has been decreed that its basic driving motivation must be that of caring for others rather than the self. This noble purpose can only be sustained if it is erected on a foundation of brotherhood and love.” (Pg 98-99)
This book may appeal to some interested in purported alien encounters…
