Late Downwind: Adventures in small aeroplanes

Rate this book
"I have control sir," I replied knowing full well that I hadn't.
“Ease the stick forward, a touch more, ok that's fine." We were now in a horrifying dive.

David charts his personal flying evolution in this illustrated book. He wanted to learn fly from an early age but it only became affordable in later life. Despite a failed attempt to destroy his instructor, and a successful attempt to destroy his instructor’s aircraft, he managed to qualify as a microlight pilot. In his early flying years, he survived a number of mishaps. That he was able to walk away unscathed is a testament to the excellence of his training and the inherent safety of microlight aircraft. David considers it a privilege to be able to fly and wants to encourage others to take to the skies by sharing his dark humour, experiences and adventures. He is a member of the Cheshire Flyers and a regular contributor to Microlight Flying.
