Memphis Magic #2

Obsession: A Memphis Magic Novel

Rate this book
They say some stones are better left unturned. I’m learning that lesson the hard way. My name’s Aubry Brooks and here’s the thing—I have myself a coven problem.

I found my mama’s book of shadows, and it's clear she didn’t share my magical philosophy of do no harm. She was hiding us from someone, but meeting her former coven only leads to more questions.

When the Angel of Death’s scythe goes missing, I realize things aren’t what they seem. No worries, the Mystery Gang is on the case. For the record, my sexy half-Incubus boyfriend Damion Blackmon does not agree to our group nickname. The broody detective Chris Sullivan doesn’t agree to much of anything, but that's his problem, not mine.

Pull up a chair and let’s work some kitchen magic. A word of warning—do not listen to Grandma’s nonsense about a love triangle, she’s delusional. Another word of warning—do not listen to Aunt Callie’s nonsense about a smoothie challenge, she’s sadistic.

Welcome to the metaphysical shop Memphis Magic.

✳️'Obsession' written by Andrea Hagan is the second installment in the Memphis Magic series. If you're interested in reading a novel featuring witches, devils, and angels, then 'Memphis Magic' series is a perfect choice for you.✳️

🔹“𝑵𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒄 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒑𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒆.” 𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕 𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒄—𝒂 𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂 𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒙𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒚 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒍.”🔹

✳️ Synopsis:
They say some stones are better left unturned. I’m learning that lesson the hard way. My name’s Aubry Brooks and here’s the thing—I have myself a coven problem.
I found my mama’s book of shadows, and it's clear she didn’t share my magical philosophy of do no harm. She was hiding us from someone, but meeting her former coven only leads to more questions.✳️

✳️OMG... I'm sorry Andrea, but I loved 'Obsession' more than 'Possession'. I was immediately drawn into the book and couldn't put it down. If I hadn't been so busy, I would have finished this book in one sitting. The narrative holds the reader's attention quite well with its quirky and hilarious elements. In the story, everything is thrilling and magical. This book's twists and turns added to its intrigue. I still have the opinion that this should become a TV show..!!✳️

🔹“𝑩𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒍. 𝑰 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔.”🔹

✳️So now Damion and Chris..!! I am always team Cambion 😈. Still smitten with The Wanton Witch and The King's chemistry 😂. Totally rooting for them. But my favourite character from this book is the angel of death ☠️. Perfect bff for Vivian 😂. Even I wondered who Aubry's granddad might be. He must be one hell of a person 😂😂.✳️

✳️Absolutely adored the cover. Like the first book, it is quite beautiful. So, if you are interested in reading stories about witches, angels and demons, then this book series is a perfect fun ride for you. Now I can't wait to read the next part of this series, 'Heal Me'.✳️

Thank you to Andrea Hagan for an ARC in return for my honest review.

Obsession, the title of book 2 in the Memphis Magic Series and how I felt while reading it. I loved it! If you enjoy Paranormal Romance you have to start this series NOW!

What I loved:
🧹Aubry continues to be sassy, strong, and full of puns. I love the way she can hold her own against Demons and Angels and isn't afraid to tease them or call them out.
😈Damion is one delicious, dirty talking half- Demon with some sexy tricks 🥵
🔎We get more of the broody detective in this one and I love the interactions between him and Aubry.
💀 We meet a new character who is EVERYTHING. I love him so much.
😂The humor in this book. Your eyes never skim because you are too busy laughing and soaking up all the big personalities of the characters.
🥵 Did I mention Damion's sexy tricks?
🔎 This one has some mysteries and a rag tag team to solve them. You'll love their nickname.

This book is engrossing, gripping and unputdownable. It has everything, humour, sass, mystery, adventure, paranormal romance, angel, demon and enticing moments.

Imagine meeting two personalities who blends in each other like a two peas in a pod and then Demon sigil binding them. Conversations through spellbinding magic and speaking in each other’s head. What if those conversations have humour, sass, and little bit of everything. Imagine meeting a hot character. And meeting with Damion’s ex and his mother. From solving a murder case to the Angel of Death’s scythe goes missing. Aubry accidentally getting her hands on her mama’s book of shadows and unveiling the magic philosophies. Playing sexy tricks and mystery engrossing them yet they never fail to find their way back to each other. And fascinating perspectives of Aubry’s grandma and Aunt Callie.

Obsession is book two in her Memphis Magic series. It finds our lead character Aubry fighting hexes against her and her luscious boyfriend slash incubus Damion cast by a witch practicing dark magic. It leads them on a journey through a fun and colorful cast of characters. They dub themselves the Mystery Gang (scooby doo style) as they try to figure out several situations.

I love this series. The cast is hilarious and they’re so well written. Andrea Hagan holds your attention the whole way through. I read her first book Possession as an ARC and I couldn’t wait to read this one and get back to Memphis to see what the gang was up to. This book gave me a new favorite character in the angel of death who is so funny and tries to fit in with a fake southern accent. I also love Aubrey’s grandma who is completely sex obsessed and is constantly bugging everyone about their sex lives.

I give this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 and recommend this series if you love paranormal romances.

Book 2 picks up right where book 1 leaves off. I enjoyed this but it felt rushed or maybe it was that there was so much going on. There were a few spicy scenes but it was mostly fade to black.

Damien and Aubreys relationship felt off in this book and honestly, I kind of liked her with Chris more even though it didn't go far. I did like that we got more backstory on Aubreys mother.

Azrael is a great addition to the story. He was hilarious and just what was needed for comedic relief. Some of the plot was pretty predictive but still enjoyable. I will definitely read the rest of the series but I did enjoy book 1 more.

This is the 2nd book in the Memphis Magic Series and picks up where the first book left off. But as expected humor and hijinks arise.

Hot dirty-talking Damon is back, along with other favorite characters....plus the introduction of a new character. Of course, we can't forget our main character the sassy Aubry, who can't seem to escape trouble.

This book is full of paranormal elements, interesting characters, mystery, adventure, romance, and of course humor.

Wow! I have no words! I absolutely loved this book! Book one was amazing so I had some pretty high hopes for book two. Let me tell you, this book did not disappoint! I loved the puns, the humor, the spice, the magic, and the mystery all involved in this book. The one thing I loved most about this book was Damion. He will forever be a favorite book boyfriend of mine. The side characters were amazing as well. I love that everyone is unique. I will most definitely be rereading this book again soon!
Thank you to the amazing author for the ARC of the book In exchange for my honest opinion.

Aubry is serious witch goals!! Demons and angels fighting over her, arch nemesis witches trying to screw her over, best friends and family that have her back no matter what- I wish I was a Brooks! This story is so different from the first book, but with the same Aubry solving her own mysteries. The story is written so well- twists and turns and hexes and hijinks abound. I was pleasantly surprised at every turn and I absolutely cannot wait to dive more into Charlotte and Gabe’s story!!!

Aubry Brooks has literally just gotten the half incubus lawyer, Damion Blackmon exorcised out of her body. Finding her mom's book of shadows reveals things Aubry wasn't prepared to tackle. Dark magic and covens weren't on this witches to do list. Neither was the intense chemistry with a Dominion Angel, detective Chris Sullivan or hanging out with the Angel of Death, Azrael. Life at Memphis Magic Shop is never dull. With dark magic getting in the way of her relationship with Damion and trying to figure out how to solve the missing sythe for Azrael Aubry sure has her hands full.

My rating:☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️(5/5)

Honestly I would of used Chris to spite Damion. I love Aubry and Damion together but I also want Aubry and Chris!!! This duo screams grumpy sunshine trope!!! While I'm glad all is well in paradise with the half incubus he could have suffered just a bit more after the hex was broken. I mean if a simple feather got him hot and bothered imagine what he would of done if Aubry and Chris would of had a real date!! My only wish was this book offered at least one chapter from Damions POV when the hex was broken! Or a POV from Chris having to ask Aubry for help in a case!!!!

🚨🚨Spoilers below read at your own risk🚨🚨

While I am glad Lucy didn't get to play out her plan with Aubry thanks to Damion; I wish Chris had gotten their first! That is one more thing Chris can bring up in future arguments with the half incubus! I completely agree with Chris in how easily one simple hex (and by the sound of Lucy talk of Bettina's Magic; not a strong one) could make Damion stop loving Aubry so easily and there for he should suffer a bit more than he did. I loved how everyone in her life offered to hex him, voodoo him or in general help her out after the breakup. It was so heartwarming to see even Chris say that she is more special than she believes. (Again wishing a Chris POV cause this man so unreadable and unpredictable!) Maybe next fight between Damion and Aubry we can find out what the angel wings can really do!

I received this book for my honest review

This book picks up right where book 1 left us, Aubry Brooks is still dating Damion Blackmon, and of course she is finding herself caught up in a magical war she didn’t want to be a part of. She finds her mothers book of shadows, and it's clear she didn’t share Aubrys magical philosophy of do no harm. Her mother was hiding them from someone and to find the answers she turns to her mother’s former coven leaders but that only leads to more questions than anything.

I am so happy that Andrea asked me to review this book, I really liked the first book, but Obsession was on a whole other level. I was drawn into the book right away and could not put it down, I was able to finish this book in 1 day. I enjoyed the humor, mystery, action, plot twist, love triangle and the cliffhanger “who is Aubrys dad? What more could you ask for in the book, Smut, no worries the spice level in this book is about 2-3 for me.

The main characters that were in the first book are all there in the second one and we get to meet some awesome side characters, who I hope we get to see more in the next one. I think BB the cat and death are my new favorite characters.

Now this love triangle between Aubry, Damion and Chris, has me kinda rooting for Chris and I don’t know why but I am so leaning towards team Aubry & Chris.
I enjoyed the plot twist on who was stirring up the drama, and I cannot wait to see who Aubry dad is.
I hope that I get asked to review the next book as well but if not, I will still read Heal Me when it comes out. So many questions I need answers too.
If you’re interested in reading this series, you can find it right now for free with kindle unlimited.

I want to thank Andrea Hagan for gifting me this book for my honest review.

I got an email from BookSirens saying there was a new book in the Memphis Magic series and I was so excited! I wanted to see more of my white witch and her sexy demon. I didn’t even look at the plot description. It could have been a whole book of Aubry and Damion baking cookies and I would have been down.

Obsession picks up right after the events of Possession. Aubry and Damion are dating now and things are SPICY. Things are going well, until Aubry finds her mother’s book of shadows. Her mother died when Aubry was a baby and she knows little about her. And this book of shadows is dark. As she and her friends, the Mystery Gang, try to solve the mysteries of the past, a new one pops up. The area’s new Angel of Death is missing his scythe. Also there is some serious tension with Chris, the angel cop who is also a human cop.

This book was a blast. Aubry and Damion continue to have the best flirty banter. Aubry continues to be hilarious and adorable. I really enjoyed her constant needling of stuffy but hot cop, Chris. All the characters are so much fun. I liked getting to know even more about all the witches in Aubry’s circle as they work together. I also liked learning more about the structures of the whole angel justice/demon justice system.

The mysteries were really intriguing and I did not see things playing out the way they did. It was very exciting. Speaking of exciting, did I mention things with Aubry and Damion are spicy?!

Another wonderful book in this wonderful series. I can’t wait for the next one!!

“Get out of here before I lead a poor demon into temptation.”

“PhD in witch seduction.”

Book one was really good … but this one … I LOVED IT !!!!
More action, more magic, more witchcraft, more secrets, more lovers’ quarrels and more spice !!!!!!
It was a definitely yes for me !!!!!
I think I developed my own “obsession” for this characters and this world !!!
So much so that I couldn’t put the book down, not even if I wanted to !!!
I was completely hooked and the presence of a certain hot headed demon definitely didn’t let me stand down !!!!
I love how in this book we learn more about the characters background and families and somehow Aubry and Damion’s relationships both gets more complicated and also deeper !!!
Their dynamic, their banter and their tension was palpable and constant and it was soooo good to read !!!!
And I also have to admit that despite me not being a huge fan of live triangles … the hint left here for one … we’re really really entertaining!!!
I’m so grateful that I had the chance to read both books and I honestly cannot wait to explore more of this universe as well as a certain side character’s romance that I’m more than a little bit interested in !!!

OhMyGosh Andrea Hagan did it again. I was totally hooked to her writing in Possession and she did just as good with Obsession. I love how her books are so quirky and cute. Not to mention I really love Damien and Aubry. They just have this cute relationship/friendship and you can't help but love them. I was quite shocked by Damiens behavior in parts of the book.

This was such a great magical book to get me into the fall season. I couldn't help but be intrigued with all of the new twists and turns as well as new characters in book 2. Obsession was such a good book but there's one thing that would have put this book over the top and that's if the author would have thrown in some chapters with Damien and Chris's POV! Otherwise I really enjoyed this cute paranormal romance.

Plus who doesn't love the cover of Obsession, right??!!! And talk about cliffhanger.... Andrea Hagan knows how to write one heck of a ending. I'm really excited that I was gifted this book as an arc. I've really enjoyed this series!!!

ARC Book Review

Obsession by Andrea Hagan
Memphis Magic Book 2

Paranormal Romance

Wow, what a great follow up to "Possession". We are still following Aubry and Damion, which YAY! We all know we wanted more Damion. Luckily, most of all our favorite characters came back with a few new ones to join our cast. There were many storylines to keep our minds busy trying to figure out who did it and why. Luckily, my hunches were way off and I was pleasantly surprised with my ending. I have to say though, I may be jumping from Team Damion to Team Chris...or maybe we can make this a poly relationship to satisfy both my needs? Maybe, Maybe?

Anyway, I greatly enjoyed the book. I have only one small complaint, but I will take that up with the writer personally.

I rate this book 5 of 5 stars, because I couldn't put it down. I need to reread it to really absorb everything and truly enjoy everything to its fullest.

I recommend this book for ages 18+ as it's pretty spicy!

🧙🏽‍♀️Aubry is back and her love life just got more interesting. Now things are a little more complex than the last time we saw her. Enter Chris. (Or ..Re-enter Chris)

😈Damion is still Damion. The cocky cambion is back to make things interesting…and steamy 🌶

👼🏽I love the character Azrael and his very morbid sense of humor. Hey with a job like his it comes in handy!

Grandma is still grandma. Vivian‘s heart is in the right place though!

🐈‍⬛ and Elvis is Elvis…but with a new friend!

I would also like to point out I officially want a mystery gang T-shirt!

I really enjoyed the second book in the series and I am loving the characters. I can’t wait to read the third book in the series. I have to have a couple questions that I want to see answered. The book was a quick read and then I couldn’t put it down whenever I had free time I wanted to get finished with this book to see what was going to happen next.

After falling in love with Possession, I knew I had to read Obsession, the 2nd book in the series.
And boy I was not let down. Obsession is just as fantatsic (or even more so) I absolutely loved it.
I read this within a day.

Andrea just pulls you in from the first the first page. Her writing is magical.

I enjoyed the pace and the storyline was fantastic. I liked Aubry trying to find out what happened to her mum and the mystery gang coming together again to solve mysteries. The introduction of Azrael was great. I love him!
We have more of Chris in this book too and well I've fallen for him!
I was surprisingly happy that Sonia and Aubry became friends.
And Vivian is back with her usual tricks which I loved, loved!

To sum it all up I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and
I thousand percent recommend this series and I can't wait to see what else is in store for the Mystery Gang.

Thank you Andrea for the E-ARC as always my review is my honest opinion.

TITLE: Obsession
GENRE: Paranormal Romance
AUTHOR: Andrea Hagan
TROPE: PNR, Witches and Devils
TYPE: Series (Memphis Magic Series Book 2)
POV: Single POV
MY RATING: 4.5 / 5 ⭐️

Obsession is the second installment in the Memphis Magic series, I am not sure what it is about this series, but I am enamoured with it.

Aubry is a witch with a talent for finding dangerous situations, and Damion is a half-incubus and Aubry's boyfriend. Chris is an angel and brooding detective that seems to help Aubry when she finds herself in trouble, and he may be a corner in this budding love triangle.

Obsession is a little bit sweet, funny and sexy, with great banter between characters. I was engrossed in Obsession quickly and could not put it down. I can't wait to see what happens in the next series installment. I am giving a rating of 4.5 / 5 Stars.

I am obsessed with Obsession!
Like, book hangover from staying up all night to read obsessed.

Obsession is book 2 in the Memphis Magic series and picks up where book 1, Possession, left off. They are written in such a way you could read them as a standalone, you won’t want to though. Andrea has created a diverse group of characters that take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, and just when you think you know…you find yourself going OMG.

Aubrey and Damion are well on their way to a happily ever after; even with Grandma Vivian encouraging her to explore angel Chris and their beloved cat Elvis judging her. The magical and paranormal elements are fun but the heart of the story is Aubrey trying to learn more about her mother. It’s a beautiful, witchy romcom that’s perfect for your fall reading list.

While looking through the family library Aubry finds her mother's book of shadows, and she quickly realizes that her mother didn't believe in the do no harm philosophy of magic she follows. Meeting members of mama's former coven leaves her with even more questions. She also needs to help the Angel of Death find his missing scythe, and time is of the essence.
These characters are all fascinating, well written, and unique. Grandma is a hoot, and Aubry and Damion have some sizzling hot interactions as well as some quite believable relationship issues. I love Aubry's snark, and her ability to stand up for herself. Mystery, suspense, magic, surprising twists in the plot, and lots of steam. I definitely recommend this book, a must read.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Alright. If you’ve read my reviews, you know I absolutely loved the first one. I was a little worried that this one would have the sequel syndrome, where it just goes downhill from the first book, but I loved this one just as much. There is still humor, mystery, action, paranormal mingling, banter, and spice. That recipe turned out another winner. I literally out off sleep between shifts so I could finish this book. Who needs sleep anyway? (So forgive any nonsense I’m typing out now, I’m sleep deprived, okay?!)

So Aubrey and Damion are still setting of sparks like fireworks, and getting comfortable in their new relationship. Damion’s dad tasks them with getting his friend out of being trapped in a summoning bowl. But then Aubrey was looking in some books to find an answer and found her mama’s shadow book. Her mama had passed away when she was a baby, so she immediately starts translating it to try and learn more about her. Well Mama was into some dark magic, and was using some pretty hefty spells to shield them from someone. And now their focus is on Aubrey. Oh, and did I mention the Angel of Death lost his scythe and needs help finding it? It’s fine, it’s fine, everything’s fine.

The comic love story of Aubry and Damion continues in this 2nd book of the series. I love their interaction and banter. It always makes me laugh! They have this chemistry about them that just makes you believe that love knows no bounds.

That being said, the story evolved into something heartwrenching somewhere in the middle and I couldn’t help the tears from falling down my cheeks. But even with that emotional roller coaster, Aubry’s humor and puns shine through.

I love the Scooby Doo - esque mystery busting this group has, coupled with the relationships of all the crazy characters. Definitely an entertaining read!

Oh what fantastic book!!! Aubry learning some much about her past, things that her mother hid from everyone. Damion is right there with her as part of the Scooby Gang (you will see 😉) to ruffle feathers, (sorry a pun for you, if you know you know 🤣) make deals and of course be of any service to his girl. Unfortunately things don't always goes and planned. Aubrey is definitely a Velma sometimes running head first into danger by thinking with her heart, but what a big heart she has. Your feelings towards alot of these characters might be questionable or change in this one I know mine sure did. A certain not so little angel go is now under my skin and I have mixed emotions now. So excited to see how Andrea can keep me on the edge of my seat for the next one, I know I won't be sleep when it gets her. Also thanks for making want to do yoga and I am dying for some red velvet cake now 🤣

Aaaand we're back folks!

Obsession takes us back to Aubry and Damion and the metaphysical shop, Memphis Magic. Many of the players from the book one are still here which was nice. It also gave us a lot to look forward to for future books. Because ya girl is in a choke hold for Gabe and Charlotte!

The "who dunnit" was great. I definitely was thrown off the scent, just like book one. I appreciate this a lot in books with mystery because, to me, it means the author is doing a fantastic job with red herrings and such. It also means that if me and the MC both can't figure it out, maybe I'm not dumb after all! Lol

The age old question right now is if I'm still Team Damion...if I've jumped ship to Chris?

Thank you, Andrea Hagan, for this ARC copy and letting me join your Street Team. Congratulations on this book!! I can't wait for more.

Another steamy and exciting instalment in the Memphis Magic universe.

The magic is darker, the sex is sexier and Vivien is still on track to be Fictional Grandma of the Year!

This was an addictive read that was hard to put down once I got into it. I especially enjoyed the new character Azrael, and I felt like I appreciated Elvis the cat more in this book. (That attitude! 😆)

If you love paranormal romance featuring sexy demons, brooding detectives, steamy sex scenes, an eccentric (voyeuristic busybody) Grandma, pawesome kitties & terrible puns, magic, mystery, and a book where even the side characters get caught up in the drama, add this to your TBR list NOW!

This is a great follow up to the first Memphis Magic series. When I saw that this book was out I had to stop reading the books I was currently in the middle of so I could start this one.

This book has everything you could want in a witchy book.. Good story, Hot demons and angels, spicy goodness, Hexes, Cats, and even a crazy grandma that says stuff you really wish she didn't.

I would recommend this series for anyone that likes witchy stories, with a slash of who done it.

I can't wait to see what happens in the 3rd book that is coming out later this year.

Okay, so I was really excited to come back to this world, and oh my gosh, it did not disappoint! This book was just as fantastic as the first one, in all the ways. Aubry is an amazing FMC for a variety of reasons, but my favorite things about her are her wit and her snarky nature. As for Damion, my half incubus love, he’s just as swoony as I remember, although I will admit I did get cranky with him a few times in this one. Their banter is to die for, and I love how their relationship grows and develops over the course of this book. I also loved the whole plot with Aubry’s mama’s book of shadows, and I’m really excited to see what happens next in this world!!!

Obsession is the second book in the Memphis Magic series by Andrea Hagan.

Paranormal Romance

I loved this book! It picks up where Possession left off. Obsession is funny and sexy and the back and forth between characters is amazing. Of course we get more of our favorite couple sassy witch Aubry and sexy half incubus Damion, but I love that Chris is back and more frequently so much so I can't choose if I'm Team Damion or Team Chris 😅 Though maybe this just needs to become a Why-choose 😂

We get more background on Aubry's mother in a new exciting case that introduced a new, hilarious character that I hope makes a return in the next book.

If you love Paranormal Romance with sexy demons, magic, mystery, comedy and drama I definitely recommend the Memphis Magic series🖤🖤

Obsession is the second book in the Memphis Magic series, and I liked it much better than the first one (which I happened to have loved so that says a lot!).

This book has a bit of everything, mystery, magic, sassy humor, and some spiciness too. I love how funny and spunky Aubry is, and Damion is as spicy as ever. whew.

Aubry's grandmother makes ma laugh out loud, and the new Angel of Death character was a welcome addition.

I will be continuing to read about this "Scooby Gang" and look forward to whatever comes next eagerly!
