She’s a pampered princess. He’s a dark prince cloaked in secrets. Their union could unify their kingdoms…or end in ruin. Though she is heir to the throne, Princess Elena lives a pampered and sheltered life. Carefree and unaware of the dangers surrounding her kingdom, she has never learned how to navigate hardships or be a leader to her people, always allowing her parents to rule.
But when the humans declare war on her kind, Elena is blindsided by a sudden and startling marriage arrangement to none other but the Dark Prince himself. Horrified by this turn of events, Elena promises to do what is necessary, but that doesn’t mean she has to be happy about it.
Though Prince Tynan begrudges the arrangement, he’s willing to do what is necessary for the sake of his kind. Even if it means aligning himself and his kingdom with the prejudiced Light fae and their pampered princess.
So why does his magic stir beneath his skin the moment he sees her? And why is she so drawn to the dark fae she’s supposed to hate?

3 things I loved most about this book: 1) Tynan, the sweet funny Prince of Death, who we must protect at all costs 2) the Disney's Frozen vibes 3) queen Ilona, who weirdly made me want a mother-in-law
As soon as I heard about The arranged marriage of the fae collection I knew I had to read Married by Dusk. The blurb intrigued me and the trope I just knew I would love. (Touch her, you die)
Thank you so much to Brianne for letting me read this novel my review is my personal opinion.
I absolutely loved it!! I loved everything about it, the writing style the characters, the storyline. Without spoiling it I was like oh XX is shady, what's gonna happen and then I was still shocked when it happened.
I really recommend everyone to pick this novel up, you'll all love it!
Time to be honest, I have never ever cried reading a book. However, this one had me tearing up and made my chest ache like I was the one hurting. There was a lot of grief so beautifully written. Every step, every emotion, and grief chapter was so detailed, so accurate to real life, I felt it. I’m not sure if it was my mom instincts, or my own knowledge of grief that had me wanting to reach in and hold Elena while she went through it. I won’t say more to what happened, why, or how because this is no spoilers, but I had to acknowledge and appreciate the talent for describing grief in a way that was tangible.
Now to gush about Elena and Tynan. What an absolutely beautiful story. I’m not even sure how this was a novella because I truly felt like I read a whole trilogy. 😂
There was so much emotion, action, tragedy, beauty, magic, and growth in such a short amount of time. Not to mention all the heavy heavy topics thrown in, but made so significant without skipping a beat… I could have read book after book of their story.
I could go on and on about everything that is Married by Dusk, but I’ll let you find out for yourself.😉
Married by Dusk is the seventh book within the Arranged Marriages of the Fae series.
In this, you will meet Elena and Tynan. Now this little arranged marriage gave me some frozen vibes. It also made me fall in love with Queen Ilona because she was just an awesome mother-in-law to Elena. Then there's the whole light and dark fae love that was just so easy to devour. I was also not surprised when someone betrayed them because it was just so dang obvious who was behind it all.
Sorry, not sorry. I'm glad they suffered.
Other than enjoying these two falling in love, I do kind of wish this was a bit longer than a novella. Not truly feeling the rush of their union because it was an arranged marriage to begin with. But, in other ways it did feel rushed.
In the end, I devoured this just like the rest of the series. I also wouldn't say no to more books featuring these two because I just want to know how they are doing and if they have more kids.
" "I love you, little mate." The words sizzled up and down my spine, warming me from the inside out. I never expected to fall in love with the Prince of Death, but when the words came out, they felt right, complete, whole. "I love you, Tynan." "
I'm gonna be honest - I don't usually like novellas. They feel too short and rushed. I feel like I don't get to know the characters well enough to understand and root for them and the story is so short and fast that it's over before anything happens. But Brianne is a miracle worker! Not only did the story suck me in I found myself crying and then screaming before the end! I fell in love with Elena and Tynan immediately! I also love Tynan's mother Ilona! It's still shorter than I'd have liked but I feel like I got a whole story there. Brianne has this way of writing realistic characters that are flawed but find strength in their struggles. It's truly beautiful! Congrats Brianne - you knocked it outta the park with this one!
A good book for people who want a short, simple, and straightforward romance with nothing complicated in it.
The first half of this book pulled me in, but I kinda wish there was more chemistry between the characters rather than them falling in love immediately. I wish there was more action and drama (especially with the wars going on)- but that’s just my preference. The romance was cool tho- and cringy and mushy (a little too much for me in my opinion…) I also forgot to mention that the majority of the characters felt bland. Or should I say all but Elsa and his m8. (I’m kidding, Tynan and Elena). And what happened with his best friend was confusing. But overall, it was a decent book despite its flaws.
Instead of an arranged marriage between a human and fae, this story is about a match between a light and a dark fae. There is much heartache and sorrow when war claims loved ones. Human warriors keep popping up unexpectedly to kill and kidnap. The story of the prince and princess as they seek to save their people had me at the edge of my seat!
I could see this as a prequel or a start to a new series. Such a lot of fascinating ideas to carry into the future. The founding of a new people, and eventual return, maybe a bigger blending when ready? And includes the ice princess. Nicely done.
I need someone to explain to me why this was so incredible!!! I did not except to completely fall in love with this story, but how could I not?! I honestly can’t believe it was only a Novella because it took me on a full book kinda journey. I’m not lying when I say by the end I was holding tears back. This is a hidden gem and I hope lots and lots of people give it a read! 🤩❤️
As soon as I came across The Arranged Marriage of the Fae collection I just couldn't help but to read Married by Dusk first. I just loved every second of it! 🥰
A sweet, beautiful tale of two Far coming together under unusual circumstances, blooming into a love story to feed the heart and soul. It does a beautiful job at telling Elena and Tynan’s tale but also gives us little Easter eggs into our favorite Cinderella retelling 😉 what a beautiful novella to enjoy!
Beautiful imagery and intriguing characters await you in this beautiful book. When two races of fae are joined together, wonderous things happen! This delightful tale kept me guessing almost until the very end. There was well executed foreshadowing that added layers to this enchanting novella.
Elena princess of the Light Fae must marry the Prince of the Dark Fae in order to form an alliance against the invading humans. But what of the rumours of this so called bringer of death, is she really to call him husband. As Elena eyes are opened to the danger unfolding around her, what secrets is her new mate keeping and is he as much as a danger to her as the human threat.
Another great read from the Arranged Marriages of the Fae series. Stand-alone book which manages to delve you straight into this world. We see good character development in this short novel and great pacing for a book where a lot happens in so few pages. The relationship development and dynamics seem a bit more realistic in this compared to others in the series as it is set over a longer period of time.
Classic YA fantasy tropes of forced proximity, touch her and she dies, only one bed and fade to black.
I found the story to contain beautiful imagery to describe the world around and describe the characters. I was really able to visual what was occurring in the novel and found myself wanting to continue reading the story to find out what happens next.
I found myself to become very emotional at a particular part of the story, but I won't spoil that part for future readers. :P
I recommend people who love romance and Frozen to read this book. Even if you don't like Frozen, please read it!
At the beginning of the story you are introduced to Elena, Princess of the Light Fae who arrogant and prejudiced against the Dark Fae purely base on rumours.
"He should think himself lucky to be marrying the Princess of Light. I am the one being forced to marry the Prince of Death."
She is however, shown to be dedicated to protecting her people by any means necessary, in this case marrying the Dark Prince. I also found her extremely funny throughout the book and laughing a lot at what she says and thinks.
The second chapter introduced Tynan, the Dark Prince. He is shown to be a mature individual who lacks confidence in himself as a leader, but who is also willing to do anything to protect his people.
Both the Light and Dark Fae are prejudiced against each other, with the Dark Fae believing the Light Fae are "Weak and vapid.". And Tynan even believes the rumours that Elena is going to be a spoiled princess. He is also hinted at being fear by both kingdoms but to find out the reason why, you must read the book! :P He also sound really hot and I love his protectiveness and care in the novel.
A history of the two fae kinds are discussed, the story is neither confirmed or denied in the book.
I want to share some of my favourite quotes with you :)
"Why does everyone feel the need to pat me? It wasn't helping." I found this quote to be so relatable as I find that being patted is not comforting for me. Does anyone else feel this way?
"Light Fae or Dark Fae, it does not matter, for we are all Fae." I found this quote is relatable to our current society as there is so much prejudice and judgement in the world base on differences when it should not matter when deep down we are all the same.
"Rest assured little mate, I won't touch you until you beg me to." Lets be real here, who doesn't love this quote.
"You are not fine, and that's all right." I think we all need to hear this one in a while.
This book had me hooked from the start. Elena and Tynan's story was beautifully written and the book as a whole was just so amazing. With how short this book was it was still filled with so much that made it feel as if I was reading a 400 paged book because of how well the story was put together. There was so much emotion and action put into this story that made me love it more and more with every chapter so by the end I was utterly in love with this book.
I highly recommend this book because you will be hooked on it as soon as you read the first line just as I was. Brianne, you did an outstanding job with this book!
This was the cutest read I had in a while. It had a certain innocence and vulnerability that I found heartwarming. It might not be the most epic fantasy or romance, but I think Brianne definitely understood her assignment well. It was precisely what a YA novella really should be like. The amount of respect the pair had for one another from the get-go, even though the rocky path that led them there, was why I liked it so much.
In short: I came for the prettiest cover art in the series and stayed for Elena and Tynan's sweet and tender love.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Smut scale: .5🌶️ Heat Scale: 🔥 (but it was perfect as it is)
I really liked this one! Normally I'm not a fan of instalove, but because this was a novella, I was able to bear it. In fact, I even enjoyed it! Elena and Tynan were a super fun couple, and even though I wasn't a huge fan of one development in their relationship, I still liked them. I also really enjoyed the world this was set in. I would've loved to get more of it, so I might have to check out some of the author's other books. Altogether an awesome book!

This book was such a lovely little read! I’m not much of a short book/novella reader, so I struggle to know what to do will with myself when I read them. 😅 I’m too used to chunky fantasy books, I guess! 😂 But Brianne Wik has a beautiful way of making you sink into her stories. I loved the Iridescent Series and was so happy to revisit that world while reading MARRIED BY DUSK. ❤️ I loved so much about Elena and Tynan! I’d happily read more of them. 🥰 But I guess I’ll have to settle for rereading this book when I need a quick, comforting, swoon-worthy romance. 😘❤️
Okay, this was a really beautiful and emotional story :'') It's an arranged marriage with a sort of fated mates trope, with two fae who initially assume they'll hate each other because of unfounded prejudice. Their actual relationship development was very shy and sweet, and I finished this book in like one session. The plot and romance were given equal weightage, and it was interesting to see both angles progress steadily. I particularly loved the way the MCs showed their vulnerabilities to each other, and the way each helped the other through it 🥲
Basically a Elain/Azriel fanfic minus the smut, but with a male mc of dubious ethnicity just the same ("tanned" skin, setting is a desert-like kingdom, uhm.) Entertaining, but could've been better ofc.
Okay, that was cute. I am so glad I went ahead and read this, but I didn't really have a choice after reading A Luminescent Dawn... I loved seeing the callbacks between the two books and a couple of repeat characters.
It was fun seeing the beginning if the world I was so immersed in this week. I loved reading about how the world came to be and really enjoyed the short love story.

This story is different from the rest of the series as it is fae based. The joining of Dark Fae with Light quickly changes focus to Tynan and Elena and their journey. It's full of unexpected moments that come together to bring a full circle.
This was a cute read. This is very teen. The writing is technically good but the world building and characters need more depth. Good story line. The poor fae in this one just take it in the teeth. This is a clean romance 16 and up. Some violence.
