Another great book in Weatherly's series on American monsters. Probably the most well known cryptid story from South Carolina, the Lizardman, takes his expected spotlight, but there are plenty of other beasties just like normal with this series. I was especially intrigued by monsters like the cymbees and boo hag, with their origins in African beliefs that were carried over as part of slavery, and which then evolved from there.
