Ceara Nobles is a Utah-based author of romantic suspense and fantasy novels. She graduated from the University of Utah in 2016 with a B.A. in Computer Animation, then realized she hated it. So she decided to pursue her true love of writing instead.

She spends her days writing sales copy as a copywriter… and her evenings writing exciting stories as an author. And she loves both!

Thank goodness this book came out relatively quickly so I could continue Everly’s story! I loved watching Everly come into herself and grow and develop as a leader. I love the characters and the magic. I can’t wait for the next one!

Loved the sequel equally as much as the first instalment in the series. Everly is exactly the self-assured, force-of-nature heroine that I like and it's empowering seeing how she trusts her gut above else, even despite criticism, but doesn't treat her point of view as the only one. (Spoilers ahead)

I also loved how she's trying to be respectful of Aki's leadership and is appreciative of his accomplishments after his departure, irrespective of her own convictions about the state of things at the beginning. She knows it's not her land and certain things are outside of her control for a good reason, but shows support and resolve anyway. I can't shake the feeling that Aki and the others know more about Everly than she knows about herself, given the events of the second book as well as the trust that they immediately treated her with. Can't wait to start book three! (As for Shadow, I can't even. Boy better have a good reason for his actions or else... Also, I'm anticipating a confrontation of angry Everly and Shadow providing hurried explanations, followed by a steamy make-out sesh? We'll see.)

I love how Everly finally takes hold and moves forward. The story was political, then went back to her personal development. There's some twists that occurred that I'm excited to see how they show up in the final battle.

What a great story. Everly is an amazing character. After her friends were arrested by the queens guards, she had to take charge of the group and organize a rescue mission. She did well with that and also worked through her magic block. She also had a queen to defeat and with their small army they would have to strike quickly & efficiently. Great characters and a plot that keeps you turning pages.
