In the grand scheme of things five years isn’t a very long time. It goes by in a blink, literally. Waking up with no recollection of the last five years is devastating. The woman I remember loving is with someone else. The only family I had is gone, and I’m forced to relive those losses all over again. I’m now a member of Cerberus, and I can’t even recall if I signed on to get Rivet back or if I got over her before joining. I have no other choice but to cling to the woman hired to help me recover because she’s the only one that knows less about me than I do. I was afraid of never getting my memory back, but the closer I get to her makes me terrified of what will happen if I do.
Marie James is a mother of two boys and wife of 17 years. She's spent most of her life lifetime living in central Texas, with only short stays in South Carolina, Alabama, and Florida. Her passions include reading everything under the sun and sewing, although she doesn't get to sew much these days!.
Writing has always been a passion and she's enjoying every step of the journey!
Why was it necessary for us to read how he needs Laxatives since he was hospitalized & coming off a coma, or how his catheter was so very painful that his d**k was going to fall off - not to mention my favorite, how the heroine had to wash & clean his balls & ass every time he pooped while he was in a coma. How romantic. Is this really what readers like reading?
Then we have the the MMC in love with OW for majority of the story. Since he has a 5 yr memory gap, we go through chapter after chapter of how much he loved OW from the first moment he saw her, how he had pined for years for the OW, how their one night of sex 5 yrs prior resulted in him thinking they were going to get married and live HEA, only for the OW to diss him and fall for someone else which devastated him and he couldn't get it into his head in the present why the OW didn't return his feelings and yada yada.
I mean, hello? Isn't this story about him & heroine?? Wasn't she supposed to be his soulmate or something because what I read, it's quite the opposite.
And then we have heroine. Can she be any more of a whiner & crying biotch? Sorry, but she was a bad mother and no matter how author tried to make her a good one, it didn't make it so. The only person I felt sorry for here and was rooting for his HEA was the kid who didn't deserve anyone of these characters! LOL.
Sheesh! This was a mess and I have NO IDEA why I even bothered. The certain friend (you know who you are!😠) that recommended it, I am gonna pay you back BIG TIME Girl!!!! Lol.
For the folks that PM me asking for more info/spoilers, here it is:
Bishop is fairly new to the MC so we haven’t really seen much of him as a side character. So this story is a complete introduction to him and his love interest Sunshine.
We get very little interactions with the club, which is ok but I do miss the banter from the brothers when we get an isolated story like this one.
Bishop and Sunshine have a very obvious connection. He relies on her and recognises her gentle heart. After hearing snippets of her calming voice throughout his time in a coma he instantly feels her presence and associates her with safety and peace. Sunshine is a tough cookie, she has spent her whole life fighting. Her life has been a struggle of making ends meet and holding everything together with a worthless ex to drag around as dead weight! She’s slow to trust and even more wary to love! However, she too recognises a feeling of calm when with Bishop, a knowing that he’s reliable and someone she could very easily love. Her quiet times spent by his side as he slept were just what she needed. A chance to figure out her problems and chat to him…even though he remained silent!
As they spend more time together their chemistry becomes almost impossible to fight…but how will this tough marine react when he discovers the secret she’s been holding close to her heart…all she can hope is that he really is the man she’s come to trust and believe in and pray that he won’t be another in a long list to let her down!
A lovely story with some heartwarming moments between Bishop and Ryder.
I love Marie James' writing, have read all of her published books to date, and I especially love her Cerberus MC series. I am honored to have been chosen to receive an ARC of Bishop in exchange for my honest review.
I have eagerly awaited Bishop's story, as he had previously been introduced as a side character whose unrequited love for another Cerberus MC member resulted in some heartbreak. We have also been previously introduced to Sunshine, the heroine of this book, in a prior book.
Without giving up spoilers, this forced proximity, insta-lust/love, hard-working single mom meets cinnamon roll Marine/MC club member story is very sweet. His is initially in a coma and she is his professional caregiver. Her past relationship and trauma is very prominently featured, as is his. Both of their painful pasts inform the story and their response to each other as their relationship develops and deepens.
Once the initial hurdle of honesty between Bishop and Sunshine is achieved, there is open communication and genuine affection and intimacy the rest of the way through.
Aside from some mild ex-boyfriend drama, the involvement of a government agency, and James' hallmark cliffhanger endings creating a bit of angst and mid-level drama, the book is relatively free from sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat moments. There is also no 3rd act breakup, which is a nice change from other romance reads.
While I gave this book four stars, this could have been a five-star read for me, but was missing some key elements that I am accustomed to James including in her other books...
A few of the Cerberus MC members make brief appearances, but given the nature of the story, the healing process for the hero did not include much of the witty banter, clubhouse environment, or camaraderie between MC members that James customarily writes. Overall, I missed the Cerberus MC dynamic in this book that has been present in her other Cerberus books.
Quite a bit of this story was played out via internal dialogue of both the MCs, and an ex-boyfriend (Travis) featured prominently and repeatedly in Sunshine's internal dialogue. While I appreciate developing the backstory of the characters, I wanted less Travis, more Bishop and Sunshine. As a result, the book really didn't pick up for me in action or interaction until over halfway through. At 235ish pages, this left me still wanting way more between Bishop and Sunshine by the end of the book.
The spice level was the lowest I have read in almost any of James' books. Granted, a single mom situation necessitates some care in depicting spicy scenes, but much of the spice happened off-screen or ended in fade to black. James is usually a Queen of Spice, so this was unusual.
Even with the above critiques, I was still rooting for Bishop and Sunshine, loved their interactions and chemistry, and was glad for their HEA. I am still a *huge* Marie James fan and looking forward to Legacy's book based on that cliffhanger ending!
Bishop's story is a captivating and heartfelt story that had me fully engaged from start to finish. From the moment I learned that Bishop's story would begin with him in a coma, I was intrigued. Despite his relatively short time with Cerberus, Kincaid ensures that he receives the best care at a renowned rehab facility. Seeking companionship during his recovery, Bishop hires Sunshine, a hardworking single mother struggling to make ends meet, to sit with him at night.
Sunshine, in need of some extra income, seizes the opportunity to spend time with the enigmatic man in the coma. Every night, she opens up to him, sharing her thoughts and feelings as if he were truly awake and listening. When Bishop finally wakes up, he realizes that his reality is far different from the vivid dreams he experienced while in a coma. The woman he believed he was married to is now engaged to another man, and they actually don't have a son together. However, one constant remains—the beautiful nurse's aide who has been caring for him all along. Determined to keep her in his life, Bishop seizes the opportunity to deepen their connection.
Both Bishop and Sunshine have faced their fair share of challenges and find it difficult to trust others. Yet, they can't deny the undeniable connection between them. What I loved most about this story is its realism. It isn't all sunshine and roses, and that's precisely what makes it so relatable and compelling. Sunshine's struggles resonate deeply, and any mother can empathize with her situation. Bishop's unwavering support and commitment to being there for her and her son touched my heart.
Marie James has once again delivered a great addition to the series with Bishop. The story is filled with genuine emotions, complex characters, and a deep sense of family and loyalty. It explores themes of trust, second chances, and the power of connection. As a reader, I was fully invested in Bishop and Sunshine's journey, rooting for their happiness every step of the way.
This book was so cute! I loved how Sunshine was there to help Bishop through his memory loss and build this connection between them.
Bishop has a tragic accident and when he wakes up he can’t remember the last 5 years of his life. He is in a nursing care center, where Sunshine was hired to stay with him at night to keep him company. Sunshine is working extra to try and support her son, since her ex-boyfriend doesn’t contribute anything. Sunshine & Bishop form this bond, and they both end up leaning on one another in their time of need.
This book pulled out all the emotions in me. I felt so horrible for Sunshine when Ryder wasn’t with her, but happy when they were able to reunite. I also loved seeing Bishop become a new person after his memory loss and continue his journey with Sunshine & Ryder. ❤️
I loved Sunshine & Bishop! This is a great addition to the series. I could not put it down. When Bishop wakes up with no memory it makes things hard. My heart breaks to see Sunshine and all that she’s dealing with. My thoughts for Bishop was won over when he does what he can to help. The faith he puts in his brothers knowing they wouldn’t let Sunshine be helping him without making sure they did their background on her. This is a great book! Watching these two work through everything. Can’t wait for the next book!!
Having read the previous book in this series I knew what condition I'd find Bishop in at the beginning...but it was still heartbreaking to see as he seemed so lost and frail while in his coma. The connection between him and his ray of Sunshine might've started out unconventionally but it still provided a strong foundation for the two of them as they worked through their trust issues and their vulnerabilities. It was a bumpy journey full of angst, a slow-burn romance that built slowly as truths were revealed and they both became more willing to put their hearts on the line.
For five years Bishop was in a fog, fueled by images that he didn't know were real or not. His one constant though is the woman hired by his Cereberus brothers...Sunshine. She cared for him, talked to him, and was his whole world while he was in a coma. Now that he's awake though he's not ready to let her go and as his rehabilitation continues she's right by his side, supporting him as much as he supports her. Bishop has a beautiful heart and soul and does everything he can to show Sunshine that there are in fact good men out there...and he's definitely one! He's sweet, sexy, and he made me melt like chocolate. His interactions with her son Ryder made me melt even more. The bond he and Ryder had was separate from his connection to Sunshine, and the time he spent with his little buddy was fatherly (much more so than with Ryder's own bio-dad) and endearing.
Sunshine was equally likable, an independent and hardworking woman who had only herself to count on. She's tough as nails, working long hours to account for the monetary and emotional anchors that are her ex and her mother. For the five years Bishop was in his coma, she was his sole connection to the outside world. Her lack of personal time, and friends, had her forming her own connection to him, sharing everything about herself, using him as a sounding board to her very heart and soul. She held nothing back, but the moment he woke up she was a bit more hesitant. With each turn of the page though they slowly built up their trust in one another, formed an unwavering connection that warmed my heart...and just made me feel good.
This book took a more emotional detour this time around, focusing more on the personal than on Club business. Instead of blood being shed, it was tears. Bishop and Sunshine were a couple worth rooting for, they were joyous together on a journey (and HEA) that they had to work hard to reach. Though I would've liked to know more about Bishop before his drugging, I definitely connected to the man he is now and became by being with Sunshine. Ryder was wonderful too and I loved the softer side he brought out in Bishop, seamlessly bringing this trio together to form a family! This was a sweet and sensual addition to the Cerberus MC series, one full of heart and soul, that now has me clamoring for the next installment in this series...Legacy!
BISHOP is the twenty-seventh instalment in Marie James’ contemporary, adult CERBERUS MC erotic, MC romance series focusing on the members of the Cerberus MC- all former members of the US Marines. This is Brent ‘Bishop’ Porter, and nurses aide/single mother Sunshine Holt’s story line. BISHOP can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading UGLY book twenty-six for Bishop’s back story.
NOTE: If you have not read UGLY, there may be spoilers in my review.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Bishop and Sunshine) BISHOP follows in the aftermath of the attack by a serial killer against the Detective Lennox Maison (UGLY 26), leaving Brent ‘Bishop’ Porter fighting for his life. Approximately one month earlier, Bishop was working security when Lennox Maison was attacked, and our hero is in recovery at a local extended care home. In an effort to always keep someone on duty, the Cerberus MC hires nurses aide Sunshine Holt, a young woman whose own life is slowly imploding. Awakening from thirty days in a coma, Bishop has no memories from the previous five years but finds himself attracted to the familiarity of our story line heroine. Upon his release, Bishop continues to recover with the help of Sunshine Holt, the woman with whom Bishop will fall in love but all is not well in Sunshine’s life, when Bishop discovers our heroine is keeping a secret, he knows nothing about.
The world building focuses on Brent ‘Bishop’ Porter’s recovery, and regaining the memories of the previous five years. Struggling to understand the loss of the past, and to understand the memories of the present that no longer exist, Bishop finds himself falling for Sunshine Holt, the woman with a past that refuses to let go.
The relationship between Sunshine and Bishop begins as a job when Sunshine is hired to care for our story line hero. Throughout his recovery, Sunshine talks to Bishop about her life, a life Bishop begins to believe is part of his own. As Bishop’s health improves, Sunshine begins to believe she is no longer needed by the man with whom she is falling in love. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.
The secondary and supporting characters include several members of the Cerberus MC including Legend and Faith, MC president Kincaid; Sunshine’s ex Travis, and her co-worker Rachel, as well as Bishop’s ex Angeline aka Rivet. All of the members of the Cerberus MC work together to help in Bishop’s recovery, and Sunshine’s ability to move on from her past.
BISHOP is a story of recovery, understanding and acceptance, addiction and trauma, family, friendships, relationships and love. The fast paced premise is intriguing and captivating; the romance is seductive; the characters are dynamic, determined, struggling but surviving.
Brent “Bishop” Porter is a new member of Cerberus MC but was injected with an unknown substance in a previous book and has remained in a coma since that time. Kincaid is making sure he is getting the top health care and now they are just waiting for him to wake up.
Sunshine is a single mom to Ryder and she currently lives with her mom who watches Ryder while she works two jobs as a nurses aide. Sunshine is still struggling trusting her ex Travis after he is caught drinking and driving with Ryder in the vehicle. In the evenings Sunshine watches over Bishop and knows she is being paid well which helps her with her attorney.
When Bishop finally wakes up he has no memory of the last 5 years and believes he is still overseas and getting married to the woman he loves.
With Sunshine’s help can he come to terms with everything he has lost in the last 5 years and be prepared to begin again?
I really enjoyed this book as for the most part it was pretty “drama” free. There were still some pretty big issues that were tackled but it was done in a really good grown up fashion that looks at forgiveness and helping people instead of punishing them.
I felt awful for Bishop to wake up to no memory of the past five years and instead have somewhat dreamed up another life for himself. He was a really good guy and it was great that we finally got to know him as he had been recently introduced before he got hurt.
Sunshine was another great character who was really stuck in a bad place. She was trying to get full custody of her son but needed money to pay for the lawyer which in turn took her away from her son. This to me was so realistic as so many single parents really struggle with time and money and I know that I personally have struggled with how to do it all and the author did a great job with this. Sunshine relies on her mom to help her out but her mom still has her own life.
There was definitely chemistry between Bishop and Sunshine but she wouldn’t do a thing to risk her job with how much she needed it.
I loved how Kincaid and Bishop both really helped Sunshine to give her the support she needed for Sunshine went things went completely sideways for her. My heart absolutely broke for her as the trust she had for an individual was crushed and their actions had really bad consequences for Sunshine.
The end made me really happy as I knew what eventually was going to come and how it all worked out with everyone helping out!
Don’t freak out that this is Cerberus MC bk 27. This book is a complete standalone and you will have no difficulties understanding who’s who and what’s going on. Bishop is new to the Cerberus MC but no less important than any other member. And it shows in the care the club provides him with. The best rehab facility with around the clock care. Sunshine is a single mom struggling to give her son Ryder everything he needs and also keep him safe. But with her working so much guilt eats away at her. She takes a second job working at night at the same rehab facility she works at in the morning. Sunshine is Bishop’s private caregiver during the evenings. She treats him with respect and compassion. Talks to him endlessly all while he’s in a coma. When Bishop awakens from his coma he sees Sunshine as his angel. But time and things are a blur for him. Bishop is trying to piece together his memories and lost time. But he also feels a special connection with Sunshine. Sunshine has shared her troubles and her feelings with Bishop while he was comatose. And she too also feels that bond that has built between them. I loved their story. It’s captivating and I immediately was rooting for them. Their journey isn’t easy. Nor a smooth pave to a happily ever after. There is pain, sadness and betrayal. Both Sunshine and Bishop have trust issues for varies reasons. What was done to them wasn’t easy nor forgivable. So it’s going to take a leap of faith on both their parts in order to continue with each other. But their budding romance also brings out the hope they thought was lost. And it slowly brings back their faith in other people. Slowly the light at the end of the tunnel starts seeping through. The clouds and the gloom that were hanging over their heads dissipate. I absolutely adored Ryder. What an amazing boy he is. Bishop had me swooning over how he treated him and he interacted with the adorable boy. I loved that they had their own special bond outside of Sunshine. That takes an amazing man to be able to form such a connection. And Bishop truly was amazing. I love this series and I’m so excited for Legacy’s book.
Bishop is the 27th book in the Cerberus MC series by Marie James. This one is a bit different than the others to me because the club isn't going on missions and has nobody after them or one of their ol' ladies. It picks up where Ugly ended and now we get to see what happens to Bishop after being drugged. I like how even after 27 books Marie James is still giving us characters that don't blend together. They are each their own person, with individual personalities and feelings. We left off Ugly with Bishop waking up with amnesia not remembering the last 5 years of his life or even joining Cerberus. While in a coma he dreamt of a life with Rivet and a son and when he woke up he couldn't comprehend how it wasn't real. He was at a low point in his life and completely lost. I don't think he would have fully recovered if it hadn't been for Sunshine. She is a nurse's aide who helped Bishop in the facility and then the club hired her to be his home nurse. And that job came at a point in Sunshine's life when she needed it desperately. She is going through a bad breakup with her son Ryder's father Travis and CPS ends up taking him thanks to Travis and Sunshine's mother. Sunshine does everything she can to get him back along with Bishop and the club's help. The more time Sunshine and Bishop spend together the more they fall for each other. I gave this one a 4-star rating and a 3-spicy rating. I enjoyed how their relationship was built the way it was. And Ryder was just a joy to meet. Bishop finally found himself, where he belonged and who he truly was meant to be with. Of course, the book had to end on a cliffhanger leading into Legacy, and man that one is going to be full of drama I can't wait.
The twenty seventh book in the Cerberus MC series by Marie James brings readers the story of Bishop and Sunshine.
After having been injected with a form of GBH Bishop slipped into a coma and was placed into a care facility. During his time in the coma Bishop had dreams that he thought were his life, as you can imagine there was some confusion when he came out of the coma, lucky for him he not only had the Cerberus family behind him, he had his own little ray of Sunshine.
As well as working her regular hours at the care home Sunshine has been working for Cerberus, she’s a nurse’s aide and was hired by Kincaid, the club’s President to help look after Bishop during his recovery. She’s been going through a bit of a rough time of it recently, she doesn’t have anyone else to talk to about her problems with so night after night she unloads her woes on a comatose Bishop.
These two have a bond from the beginning, there’s clearly chemistry between them and it only intensifies when circumstances see the pair sharing a small place together. When Bishop finds out Sunshine has a young son he steps up, helping her out with the situation she’s found herself in, all thanks to her ex partner, he makes it his mission to prove to her that not all men are like her ex.
Their journey towards a happily ever after was a sweet one, filled with sexual tension, heat and some minor angst. I loved catching up with the Cerberus family and look forward to seeing what’s in-store next, after all that ending has left me well and truly intrigued.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has pain, secrets, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Kincaid (Cerberus MC, #1) SINdicate (Cerberus MC #1.5) Kid (Cerberus MC, #2) Shadow (Cerberus MC #3) Dominic (Cerberus MC #4) Snatch (Cerberus MC, #5) Lawson (Cerberus MC 2.0 Second Generation, #1) Hound (Cerberus 2.0 #2) Griffin (Cerberus MC #8) Samson (Cerberus MC #9) Tug (Cerberus MC #10) Scooter (Cerberus MC #11) Cannon (Cerberus MC, #12) Rocker (Cerberus MC #13) Colton (Cerberus MC #14) Drew (Cerberus MC #15) Jinx (Cerberus MC #16) Thumper (Cerberus MC #17) Apollo (Cerberus MC #18) A Very Cerberus Christmas (Cerberus MC) Legend (Cerberus MC, #19) Grinch (Cerberus MC #20) Harley (Cerberus MC Series #21) Landon (Cerberus MC Series #22) Spade (Cerberus MC Series #23) Aro (Cerberus MC Series #24) Boomer (Cerberus MC #25) Ugly (Cerberus MC #26)
This is Sunshine and Bishop’s story. In the last book Bishop was in a coma. Sunshine is his nurse that has been looking after him night after night. She is a single mother who is trying hard to take care of her child and not feel guilty about working and missing time with him. She pours her heart out night after night about issues she is having not knowing that Bishop can hear her struggles. He wakes up and is missing 5 years of his life. Sunshine is the center of it and has been for a long time. Now he just needs to get her on board and keep her safe. Can they build something when all it was supposed to be was a nurse looking after her patient?
I really enjoyed this book as for the most part it was pretty “drama” free. There were still some pretty big issues that were tackled but it was done in a really good grown up fashion that looks at forgiveness and helping people instead of punishing them.
I felt awful for Bishop to wake up to no memory of the past five years and instead have somewhat dreamed up another life for himself. He was a really good guy and it was great that we finally got to know him as he had been recently introduced before he got hurt.

Bishop is book twenty-seven in the Cerberus MC series by Marie James and is a complete standalone and does not have to be read in order.
I knew going into Bishop’s story, his would start off with him in a coma. He hasn’t been with Cerberus long, but he’s still Cerberus and Kincaid takes care of his family. So, he’s in the best rehab facility there is. Wanting someone with him twenty-four/seven, he hires one of the nurse’s aides to sit with him at night. Sunshine is a single mom struggling to make ends meet and jumps on the chance sit with the beautiful man in the coma. Having no one else to really talk to, she talks to him every night as if he were really awake.
After finally waking from his coma, Bishop realizes his reality is completely different than the vivid dreams he was having. The woman he dreamed he was married to is engaged to another man and they don’t have a son together. The one constant in his life is the gorgeous nurse’s aide that helps take care of him. So, when the opportunity arises to keep her around longer, he jumps on it.
Bishop and Sunshine both haven’t had the easiest of lives and neither trusted easily, but they both feel the connection between them. Overall, I loved this story. It’s not a sunshine and roses (hehe), but I loved that most. Sunshine’s struggles are relatable and any mother could find herself in that situation. I loved that Bishop stepped up to be what she and her son both needed. Another great story in this series.
How does this series keep getting better and better, 27 books in, yes 27 and I am as enthralled as I was by the first, a brilliant slow burn compelling read, I couldn't help but fall instantly in love with Bishop, a new member of the MC who tragically was put in coma at the end of the last book, I wondered how Ms James was going to play this one, and she nailed it, with both the dreams that Bishop was having and how they were blending with the conversations nurses aid Sunshine was having with him, night after night while she looked after him, single mom Sunshine is another great character and one that will remain in my heart, I loved her strength and how she is dealing with her little boys dead beat dad, while trying to give her son the best she can but feeling guilty at the time she has to spend away from him, emotions run high when Bishop comes out of his coma and has lost 5 years of his life, believing one thing and then being hit with the reality of those missing puzzle pieces, the only constant he has is Sunshine.
Ups and turns, twists and turns makes Bishop an epic journey of a romance, and if I had to do a countdown of my top 5 books in the series this would be right there near the top.
3.75 stars. It was good, I really liked it and honestly wished it was longer so I could see more of their lives. There was no unnecessary drama, even with her ex. I think the story was realistic enough and gaps in it was filled in with saying she quit her job and bishop has gotten more memories back. I wish we saw his reaction to getting those memories and what if anything changed for him. It was just missing something to get that 4 stars. I think the most exciting part of the book was the end with legacy and the girl. That said, bishop is literally the perfect guy and I love how they communicated. Sunshine deserved to see a healthy relationship and Ryder deserved to feel loved, happy, and safe in his home and with his parents. Which reminds me. Bishop is one of ryders parents and I wish we got to see bishop expressing his desire to be involved in the firsts. Like first day of schools. Obviously they were really new so it’s kind of understandable that sunshine was too scared to share that experience with him but with how much he wanted communication I think it would’ve been better if we saw that and actually saw them talking about him becoming Ryders stepdad. Even if it was obvious that was a forgone conclusion.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
After 26 books in a series, you'd think that the story would get boring, but NO!! Marie James has kept this series interesting and each person has their own individual story that needs to be told.
Brent "Bishop" Porter went into a coma after being injected by GHB while on an assignment. He doesn't remember anything but the dreams he's been having, he assumes he has a different life than he does. Once he finally wakes up, he realizes that it's all a dream, but he has someone who has been there for him and he finally accepts that what he thought was real, was not.
In steps Sunshine! She is a nurse aide that was hired by Cerberus to take care of him on her off hours from the facility. She has baggage that causes her to believe that she will never love again.
There is definitely chemistry between them both but of course, Sunshine is scared if her truth will cause Bishop to not love her like she deserves. And Bishop waits patiently for her to realize that not all men are like her ex.
Once again, another great read from Marie James and I look forward to reading more!!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love everything about the Cerberus MC series, and I'll never not once get enough, that's for sure. Our heroine, Sunshine, is busting her behind to make a good life for her son as the sp*rm donor isn't helping whatsoever, but he never did which is why they aren't together anymore. I felt so badly for her because it seemed like life wouldn't give her a break, but she kept going anyway. Luckily for her, my man Kincaid had her back and he also hired her to watch over our hero, Bishop. He's been in a coma for a minute, so she's been taking care of him & then he finally woke up so their new journey began. I LOVED these two together, as there wasn't a ton of drama between for the most part other than an incident or two. She was wary, but he was determined to show her that he meant business, and his interactions with her son were super cute that's for sure. It sure didn't hurt that they had sparks flying everywhere either, plus the bonus of seeing some of my peeps again as the supporting cast which always delights me to no end. No reader can go wrong with Marie James' special breed of bikers, and everyone needs them in their lives so yeah, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I’ve read several books by Marie, but this was my first reading any from her Cerberus series. I was a little worried going because it’s the 27th book in the series and I wouldn’t know what was going on, but I had absolutely no problem keeping up. I loved the slow buildup to Brent and Sunshine, their relationship didn’t happen instantly, it was a slow process. When Brent, AKA Bishop, first woke up from the coma I was worried that his confusion over his feelings for Rivet would drag out, but they didn’t. I really felt for Sunshine, between her unsympathetic mother, her alcoholic ex and the troubles he was causing with their son, she had so much to deal with. I wished she would’ve been more honest with Brent when he asked who Ryder was. But I also understood where she was coming from and how she felt. She hadn’t had anyone to lean on and was use to doing it all herself. This was a really good book, and I’d love to go to the beginning and read the series from book 1! And I can’t wait for Legacy’s story next!
I can’t believe this series is on book 27 and it’s still as exciting as the very first 1 (Kincade - The man that started it all). Cerberus is made up of ex-Marines, the best of the best. So Bishop being injected with gosh knows what about 3 weeks earlier (in book 26), then finally waking from a coma with no recollection of the past 5 years let alone his time with Cerberus, is a hard pill to swallow. He’s fighting for survival as well as not losing his mind. Nothing is like he remembers and the author has given us readers an emotional, romantic storyline as we follow his journey. A journey that also includes Sunshine, the care nurses aid the club has hired to help him. But Sunshine has problems of her own. Problems that she tells Bishop her problems while he’s in a coma, since she has no one she can talk to.
These two form an amazing bond and their chemistry is breathtaking. Kudos Ms. James for giving Bishop an outstanding storyline which he totally deserved. He is a good man with a big heart and it totally shines throughout the book.
So many things I want to say about Bishop, but I don't want to give too many spoilers. Let me just say Marie James has done it yet again. She is an author who doesn't just have one style. I have read the entire series, and just when you expect things to go one way, she does the complete opposite. Bishop is that cute HEA story with a slight twist of reality (that makes it even better). Ms. James applies some real-life everyday issues and comes up with a charming book you don't want to end. In fact, this book will have you checking the chapters and the ereader percentage hoping the story will continue. Well all good things must come to an end, and Bishop is that good thing. I loved the ending and seeing how she brings it all together...I can't say more...Just read it, and you'll say, "That's what the reviewer meant." Bring on Legacy...I can't wait!!.

After reading Ugly, I was highly anticipating this book and seeing how Bishop faired from his ordeal. This book did not disappoint. I don’t know how at book 27 in the Cerberus series Marie manages to make each couple and story unique still but it’s amazing. To make this book even better, I am a sucker for a single parent romance and this was such a good one. Sunshine’s life is not going the way she thought and she doesn’t have anyone in her corner except her son Ryder. That all changes when she takes the job taking care of Bishop and becomes Cerberus herself. Her relationship with Ryder was genuine and so sweet. I loved seeing Ryder and Bishop interact and Ryder’s wariness at first. Bishop and Sunshine end up healing each other and it was beautiful to read. It was a journey full of so many emotions. I laughed, I got teary eyed, I swooned and everything in between as they made their way to a HEA.
This is the 27th book in this phenomenal series and features Bishop who got hurt in the previous book after being injected by a form of GHB and ended up having a heart attack.
Sunshine is an aide who works at the care facility that Bishop is in whilst he's in a coma and is hired by Cerberus t look after him in the evenings too and during his ongoing recovery. Soon as Bishop awakes the bond between them is obvious and palpable, even when he has lost memory of the last 5 years he feels at ease and calm with her.
The more time they spend together as he recovers the chemistry between them becomes even more intense.
This story as a sweet one filled with insane chemistry, friendship and the chance to show that Sunshine can count on someone else. That there will be someone else in her corner and shes not alone.
I was gifted a copy of this book by the Author and this is my honest Opinion
The Cerberus series never disappoints and the storylines always drag me in and don’t let go until the last page is turned. Bishop was a sweet love story and the way that man was with a scared woman and her son was amazing. Coming out of a coma not knowing anything about your life and living in a dream world was more than he could handle if not for the CNA who was with him throughout his traumatic injury.
Sunshine was living a very hard life and has been hired by Cerberus to work a night shift to care for their injured member. As time went on it wasn’t just Sunshine helping Bishop but him helping her as well. Their connection was heartwarming and the love that mother had for her child was as it should be.
This book sure brought out the feels and had me rooting for not only this couple but this family as well. I look forward for what’s more to come from this series.
I don’t know how Marie James writes brilliant novel after brilliant novel. But I am here for ALL of it. Bishop and Sunshine are each other’s soulmates. From the very start, their hearts are drawn together and they are exactly what each other needs to feel peace in their chaos. They are brought together under unusual circumstances but that just makes their love story sweeter. And Ryder is the sweetest little boy!!! I love his attitude (he’ll totally be part of Cerberus one day). I don’t want to say much more because I don’t want to give anything away. This author is always a one click pre-order for me. This book….oh my heart. I love this little family so much. I cried a few happy tears for them. They both have such tender hearts. And bonus, we get to visit with old friends from previous Cerberus books and I didn’t feel like I had to smack a certain grumpy President in the head! Yeah!!! And the epilogue!!! OH MY GOODNESS I can’t wait.
Bishop wakes up in a strange place to find out that he's missed the last 5 years of his life. The girl he remembered loving is engaged to someone else and the son he thought he had never existed. He's now a member of the Cerberus MC but can't even remember signing up. The only familiarity he has is the nurse that was hired to watch over him. Sunshine is a single mom in a tight spot. Needing the extra cash, she agrees to continue to care for Bishop as he adjusts to his new life. One lie leads to another and ultimately the truth.
I feel like I've said this about every book in this series but its not a lie, this book was awesome. I keep waiting for the Cerberus MC guys to phase out (I mean hello, we're on book #27) but they just keep on giving. Marie James has truly outdone herself with each character and Bishop & Sunshine were no different. They're troubles and worries seem so real and it's really easy to get lost in their story and to feel a part of it. I love how each book leaves you hanging with a hunger for the next. I can't wait to see what happens and how the MC evolves from here.
If you've made it this far into this MC series then don't stop now! Bishop's story has all the angst, spice, love, and hate that the others share.

I just loved the interaction between the 2 main characters! If ever there were 2 characters that were meant for each other, it is these 2. Sunshine is only trying to be the best possible version of a mother for her son, and she doesn't disappoint. There were times when my heart broke along Sunshine's, and yet she didn't let it keep her down. It only made her fight harder for her son, understanding that she can't do it alone and accepting help when it's offered. I was a bit apprehensive with Bishop's character. I thought the whole book was going to be about him trying to win back Rivet, but that was not the case. Once he was told what was going on, he accepted it in some way and worked on getting better.

Bishop is book 27 in the already AMAZING Cerberus MC series written by the talented author Marie James. After reading Ugly's story Cerberus MC #26, I really was looking forward to knowing what was going to happen to Bishop. Marie James has an outstanding way to write about this ex military group of men and their journey to find the one special person in life. I've always been team Kincaid, but I have to say that Bishop melt my heart in the best way possible. Bishop & Sunshine, their romance is a perfect slow-burn, close proximity story as they helped one another heal. I laughed, cried, blush and everything in between. The writing flowed easily and I couldn't put it down for one second. I was glued to my Kindle. I'm looking forward to read Legacy's story next!!.
