A fully illustrated reference guide for Reiki practitioners of all levels of experience.
With Reiki Illustrated by Hae Lee, Reiki healers now have a practical resource that presents Reiki symbols, hand placements, and treatment sequences in an accessible, visual way. From the newly attuned Reiki student to the experienced Reiki Master that certifies and trains others, Reiki practitioners will find a wealth of information in this book to strengthen their connection to this beautiful healing modality.
I received my reiki level 1&2 attunement from Hae this year, and after the course was over I wanted to read her book. I'm so glad I did because I learned so much and got so many ideas for my own practice from her tips. Hae is a teacher, and as such, the book and its illustrations are descriptive and clear on the how's and why's of each hand position, and it begins by giving the reader some foundational information on the history and practice of reiki. If you are interested in reiki but not sure if you want to take the courses to get your first attunements, this book is a great gateway to give you an idea of what you will be diving deeper into in your studies.
While the book is great for beginners, I think seasoned reiki practitioners will also get a lot from the hand positions and ideas Hae shares for preparing yourself and your clients for their session, aftercare, and ways to improve distance reiki sessions. I plan to utilize it in my own practice for years to come.
Note: I received an free copy of this book and choose to review it.
My biggest issue is that I wasn't able to see the whole page, and reducing magnification only affected the text. I already have a few books like this, which focus on hand placement, but also stressed that it is INTENTION which is the biggest factor. It doesn't explain WHY those specific placements to promote relief/healing. If it were geared to Level Two and indicated which of the symbols given there would be best employed, it would be much better. Other books have a page with each hand position numbered, and each issues being treated, uses those numbers. While it does mean flipping back and forth, it can provide more room for information, or even exercises to test the intuition on what would work for issues not already covered.
As I am a beginner to Reiki I was pleased that the author starts out with the basics. If you are already familiar you probably could just skim the first few pages or use them as a review. I always thought of Reiki in terms of whole body healing as opposed to very specific ailments. I was very surprised and pleased to see the section on specific issues both physical and emotional. If you are interested in delving into the practice of Reiki I would definitely recommend adding this to your library.
It begins with a brief history of Reiki and an overview of its basic principles. The illustrations are great and helpful. I really like the treatment sequences.
