This book was about my late grandfather, the Irish boxer John McNally.
Barry Flynn has managed to write a great biography on him, and this brought great pleasure to my grandfather in the final years of his life, especially the increased recognition that came his way from the great achievement he made in 1952 in winning the first Olympic medal for Irish Boxing, much against the odds.
I re-read the book yesterday and once again thoroughly enjoyed it.
If you are interested in Irish Boxing this is a must read - along with Flynn's book 'Legends of Irish Boxing.'
