In a world ravaged by disease, distrust and misery, Lucy and William Berrel and their two children are given the opportunity to escape to a new land. An island free of disease. Somewhere safe where they can rebuild their lives. But when they board the ship, terrible events mean Lucy is left traumatised, confused and searching for her children. Not sure who she can trust, Lucy discovers a strength she never knew she had and battles against seen and unseen evils in her quest to find the truth.
If you love thrillers then this is the book for you I’m not usually a reader but it’s grabbed me from beginning to end. You almost feel like the family is your own and you follow their emotional yet thriller journey. I won’t spoil it, but if you like fast paced novels this is the one for you. I’d definitely recommend it
Its quirky, its gritty!! Its taken me until the 3rd chapter to really get into this book. This book reminds me of the terrible Covid pandemic we have all experienced and been through, only in a fictional sense. Wanting to escape this strange deadly disease, Lucy her husband and their young family try to board a ship to escape their misery. At the last minute Lucy's husband is murdered and eaten alive in front of her and her children's eyes. What now? I don't know i haven't read that far! What will happen when they reach their new home?
