Empyrean #3

Silver Born

Rate this book
A forgotten pixie.

Amber has always been able to talk to animals, and put that skill to use as a pet psychic. Relaying messages from purse dogs and helping owners figure out why their cat won’t stop peeing on the carpet didn’t prepare her for learning there’s more to it than her ability to communicate with animals.

There’s a whole new realm.

A lost daughter of Empyrean, a realm of supernaturals, she was found by those who seek to use her talents for their own ends. Now she’s protected by a werewolf who resents being put on babysitting duty, on the run from kidnappers, and figuring out how to find and safely capture a beast under a deadly spell.

Lost no more.

Learning who she truly is, thrown in the middle of an age-old war, drawn to an emotionally scarred wolf, and on the hunt for an invisible beast trying to abduct her—and the deadly warlock controlling it—

She’ll need more than the help of toy poodles.

Silver Born is a romantic fantasy novel with a smart, bubbly heroine, and a rather grim, sexy werewolf. There is an evil group plotting against them, and a generous helping of steam.

This is a full length romance with no cheating and a happily-ever-after ending. It shares a continuing story with other books in the series, but since our hero and heroine's story is complete in this novel, it can be read as a standalone.

Gobsmacked Great!

Wow! Silver Born is excellent! The novel has a lot going on but the writing is sooooo good - the story just flows! Rasp, a silver wolf, oozing sex appeal, shifter is assigned to protect Amber, a psychic animal communicator! Chuckle, interested yet? This novel is a fun, delightful, tense, hot action adventure! Throughly enjoyed it! Many thanks Kenzie Kelly!!!!!

Amber and Rasp

Amber is a human and a pet psychic. Or so she thinks. When the werewolf Rasp is sent to her to prevent her from being kidnapped and her powers used by a group of power hungry supernaturals, she discovers that she is part pixie.
Rasp doesn’t have the best of backgrounds, but he will make sure that Amber stays safe, whatever the cost.

This is the third book in the series, and unlike the other two, it cannot be read as a standalone! The background story continues on a pretty big plot line begun in book two, so you will want to have read that one first.

Much like the other books in the series, this is a charming contemporary fantasy romance. The characters are fun, and Amber will more than likely make you laugh (especially when a particular dream comes true for her). Rasp is a hero with a past, but he’s made good since then, and now works hard to do the right thing.

It’s a relatively fast paced book, with engaging characters, and is the perfect way to while away a cold and wet afternoon!
Recommended for those who enjoy romantic fantasy and paranormal romance.

Action packed

The plot moved along quickly and the character development was great. I really liked and cared for all the characters. I have a couple issues, however. It REALLY needs to be RE-edited. The entire beginning, and random parts throughout, was sometimes confusing bc the author didn't always italicize when Amber was mentally speaking w animals/beasts. So as you read, sometimes the thoughts would start out of nowhere bc they weren't italicized. Or the opposite, too much would be italicized and you would have to reread the whole thing to figure out where the thoughts ended and the regular text began. The intimate scenes were mediocre w the juicy details; it kind of felt like a soft Rated R vs Mature Audience Only. It also ended really abruptly for me. This is the first book in the series I chose to read. I'm intrigued by the world and might start at the beginning, but this book needs an overhaul.
