Eutopia: a novel

Rate this book
“The four Earths shouldn’t all exist at once, David. The chrontion sphere should be closed, but I had opened it and kept it open, and I now understood it was directly connected to me, the energy was linked inside of me! The other end was no longer anchored, and it was a danger to this New World of mine. It could vanish in a moment! When the chrontion sphere closes completely, there will only be one Earth.”

“It shouldn’t be this one,” David whispered harshly. “Your world shouldn’t exist!”

“Neither should yours,” the old man said with a hint of a shrug. “Nevertheless, I am determined to see this through to the end. And you and my mother are the keys to it.”

Everyone shared the same world history, but when Paul Wagner's colossal failure opened up an incredible opportunity, he jumped at it. To have the chance to eliminate a terrible dictator who started a war and created a holocaust would do more than just reshape history, for everyone else would forget that terrible name, everyone except Paul himself. But what would he do if the new history of the world was worse, if a new dictator was worse? How far would he go to try and fix things? Could anything be worse than creating Hitler?

While Paul could count on his mother to help, what about his estranged father, David Wagner? What about having his father's help before David could even have a son? And in traveling between histories, who sings to him and guides him to ruling the world?

Eutopia (yoo-toh- pee - uh ) is a brisk and deep time-travel adventure from the near future and the near past, opening up and closing alternate Earths, each with its own ruthless dictator. It is also the story of a brilliant scientist, Paul Wagner, destined for greatness, and his father David Wagner as a teenager, caught in a frightening new world. As they fly through the chrontion sphere to different times, creating different histories, a larger presence always lurks, known yet unknown. Will the New World—the Eutopia—survive, or one of the fallen Earths?
