“I would tell you to run, but you can never outrun the devil.”
Tales of corrupt men of God are quite common, from those diving their hands into financial corruption to those who sought sexual favours from young men and women. Seraphina would have never thought of crossing paths with a man of God, quite as corrupt as Miceli Di Mauro.
A ray of sunshine, a girl with pink highlighted cheeks, lip gloss and bows in her hair. Seraphina Sibanda embodied innocence and blissful ignorance- always seeing the best in people, and never ready for what the outside world could do to an innocent soul like hers.
Pastore Di Mauro is a stark contrast to the young, demure, uncorrupted and naïve flower- with his deceiving light brown eyes and smooth and sultry voice that hid the true monster that lay within.
Mafia, murder, religion, abuse, and captivity, all cross paths in this riveting tale!
There's not much to say about me, I'm not quite as interesting as my characters. I'm the kind of girl who prefers to live through their imagination- forever on the outside, looking into the world that I have so perfectly created but will never be a part of.
This is my third book from the author and it’s becoming pretty predictable with how the story is going to end because they all follow the same path. I would like a different ending or a twist from this author in the future. It always end with the fmcs resigning to their fates and the mmcs survive after getting shot like no kidding, the mmc in the first book I read from her was shot 12 times and he’s still alive in the end. The mmc in this book is shot right through his heart but again, somehow he survived…
This is a pitch black, dark with unhinge and irredeemable mmc. I feel like the author’s mmcs all have the same traits and it’s hard to distinguish them from each other sometimes. If you’re hoping for a HEA for the fmc then you might as well just avoid this author because there’s no happy ending for her fmcs. Same goes for the fmc in this story.
As for how this book goes; it’s hard to read because of the abuses the fmc has to endure. The mmc has no empathy at all and he will keep her even if she loses her soul and mind along the way. Somehow the mmc in this book isn’t as nasty and vile as the first mmc I read from this author and that is saying a lot.
Honestly I tend to avoid books that include mind breaking and torture but because I’m prepared from the start and knowing how it’s going to be, I manage to finish this book but still, it’s nauseating to read how she slowly loses herself and forgets what kind of a monster the mmc is.
The flow of the story is great but the description of what the characters are wearing aren’t really needed. I mean once or twice it’s fine but more than that then it becomes unnecessary. But overall, it is a decent read even without the HEA I wish for the fmc.
the story is bad :/ a girl came to a new town and stayed with her aunt and to meet a pastor. then the pastor was suddenly obsessed with her. but the writing was soooo bad I couldn’t continue to read it ughh
I love this story. Yes Espocito mafia was a lit bit better but this was also a good dark book. When I read this story I was like "I need to go to church find a hot and evil pastor" 😍
Wow Seraphina this woman she definitely didn't except that searching for a different life then the one her family had would bring her to a wolf dress in sheep clothing. Man she really had it rough I will definitely don't want to be in her shoes.
