When her boyfriend, Gino, mysteriously vanishes, Maggie Lee doesn’t know what to think.
She wants to search for him, but her efforts are hampered by a friend needing her help and the fact that she’s supposed to be babysitting her nieces for the weekend. Little kids and sleuthing don’t exactly go hand-in-hand.
Then Maggie receives an upsetting phone call that knocks her for a loop. Thankfully cooler heads prevail (namely that of grammatically-challenged Doberman pinscher – who woulda thunk it?!).
Determined to figure out exactly what’s happened to her missing boyfriend, Maggie sets off with an unexpected ally and some new friends to find him.
Can she get her man back? Or will they both fall victim to rabbit-trapping, fire-setting psycho?
That one had my heart pumping, what is it with Maggie and psycho women going after her or her men lol. Oh and I love the new additions to the menagerie. Another awesome hitwoman caper.
I read this in one day! I need this series of books longer. I'm glad Patrick realizes what a fool he was to leave Maggie and I'm glad Maggie is smart enough to know better than to go back to him. I like the idea of the compound becoming an animal recuse center. That's going to make for a lot more fun things to happen in future books. I wonder when we will find out more a a out Ms. White & her ninjas. I'm looking forward to that. I also want to know who's all involved with her organization. I look forward to the next book.
Yay Maggie and her menagerie of four legged friends! And now she’s got a couple more added to her many friends.
Where’s Gino? When Gino ends up missing, it’s up to Maggie and her Crime fighting friends, along with all her talking pets, to find him. You’ll definitely go on a wild ride with this book and be around the wild family that surrounds Maggie the animal understanderer.
Oh! And I might add that it seems as though little Katie may be able to understand animal language, because it was hinted at in this read. I have suspected this in past books, but this one really nailed it for me. I think she’s like her aunt Maggie, Grandpa Herschel, Uncle Ian, and Grandma Mary. Hmmm…hopefully that’ll be uncovered in the next book and also Piss real name!
Next is book 35 “The Hitwoman and the Ninjas”. However, we’ll have to wait until December 22, 2022 to read on that one. I can’t wait!
But in the meantime, I’m going to read…be right back…k, I’m going to begin a Leslie Langtry book series: A Merry Wrath Mystery series with the first book being titled “Merit Badge Murder”. Merry is a retired CIA Agent who is living in a small town and the first book she finds a dead man from her past mission. Her new hot neighbor happens to be a Detective on the case. Hopefully the book is as good as Hitwoman and also the Fortune series by Jana DeLeon.
This is a fun and entertaining story that has Maggie, our slightly neurotic hitwoman, desperately searching for her boyfriend, Gino. Gino is a bodyguard for a mob boss, so she doesn't know if he's missing because of his job or something personal. At every point, there are twists and turns in the story that kept me engaged. I love the characters in this novel and love the newest additions to Maggie's personal animal kingdom.
If you enjoy a fun mystery, you will love this book. I found myself laughing out loud, even as I was trying to figure out the mystery. Put this one at the top of your TBR. Will part of a series, this is a stand alone novel, however, it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.
I was captured by the very first page! Dee Dee the doberman proves she is so smart in this book! Even Godzilla affectionately known as God, the lizard agrees with Piss the cat about her. Amazing! Where is Maggie's boyfriend Gino? Can Maggie find him? She enlists the help of Patrick in the search. Lots of action and twists and turns making this a real page turner! Maggie gains two more pets to her already crowded family, a raccoon named Rowdy and a rabbit named Twitch. I loved this book and all the books in this series. I also love the new covers for the series and cannot wait for the next book! A must read
Maggie Lee and her many pets are brave protectors of family and friends, but this time they not only protect, but they also detect, initiate and keep the searches pointed in the right direction. The book takes place over one very busy weekend with emotions at an all time high, and help coming from unexpected places.
Fast paced, captivating story that has the usual cast of characters and gets a couple sweet new additions as well. I loved it, and was sad when it was over too soon. Emotionally charged story is one of the best in the series!
Wow! All I can say is wow! This book was great! Maggie had to rescue Gino! There were really only minimal clues to follow but she followed them! Naturally there were things to do for her family and others all while being absolutely gutted by certain events! Start reading early in the morning on a day when you have nothing planned because you won’t be able to put the story down!
I loved the story. Maggie and her family includes the animals. It is such fun to think the ability to tall to animals is hereditary. Her grandfather also can talk to the animals. This story has Maggie trying to find Gino. He is missing. She recruits Patrick and Zeke and even the Mobster gets involved. After all, Gino is his bodyguard. Maggie’s life is one adventure after another. In this story she gets two new animals to add to her ‘family.’ Of course, Dee Dee and Piss and Alejandro show up to save the day. It is a fun read. If you are new to this series, starts with the first one so you can understand the interconnections. JB Lynn is great!!
SPOILERS - Another adventure with Maggie’s ever growing family and it was great although there are definitely questions around the safety of the facility that lets her mum wander around, then out on weird jaunts and people visit her without family consent… overall an exciting book though!
I have enjoyed this entire series but I think this is the best one yet! I could not stop reading. Lots of Actions and crazy characters (both people and animals). Easy reading and fun to get lost in the story. Look forward to the next one.
from one place to another ruins this otherwise very good mystery. I’m pretty sure the redundant phrase “Continental on” didn’t appear once! That’s tremendous progress! The new animals are good, but without a movie, it’s hard to remember them all now. I’m hoping Gino and Maggie will get time together soon.
Maggie Lee and her family of animals are a thoroughly good read. Light reading, yes, but JB Lynn keeps you buying her books because of her style of writing in that you enjoy her characters.
Maggie Lee saves the day with the help, as usual, with God, DeeDee , and Piss. and collects 2 more animal family members. I can't wait to see how Twitch and Rowdy fit in and how they interact with the others.
Excellent series that never ceases to keep me up late at night wondering how it will end. A definite page turner. The premise is a bit quirky but once you accept it you find the books impossible to put down.
Maggie is involved in a lot of things. As soon as one thing is solved another thing happens. I’m just glad that there are people around to help her and I hope she realizes this. I can’t wait for the next adventure
Another great adventure!!! All of the characters are beautifully developed and I really enjoyed the plot, as well as the humor, of course. Maggie and her family, furry an non-furry, are just loveable.
Once again, a well woven tale. It's what keeps me coming back. I also love animals and I talk to them often. I just wish that we could have 2 way conversations like Maggie and her family.
I absolutely love this author and all of her characters. From her squad of crazy animals to her human family, each character has such a unique personality.
Talking animals fighting animals one of every specie. Next book will probably include snakes, reptiless, insects. It was cute in the beginning but is getting olf
