We first met Anderson Gray in Haven Bay book 6, " Begin Again With You". He was such an interesting character that I was hoping he would get his own happily ever after. Alexa Rivers did not disappoint! Gray is back and grumpier than ever - only this time, we not only learn why but also watch as he overcomes his fears with the help of a good woman - namely Mikayla Talbot.
I thought book 6 was my favorite in the Haven Bay series, but I think "Let Me Love You" may have just snuck into that place! This story has everything you could want in a romance book: both the main characters are written really well, the setting of small town Haven Bay is just what you want in a romance story (town square, ice ream parlor, local bar, beach, etc.) and the secondary characters, both new and ones from past books, help round out the perfect recipe for a wonderful story.
When you read this story, don't think of Gray as being agoraphobic. By definition, that is someone with an irrational fear of being in public and Gray's fear is very rational. Gray went through a traumatic event during his time in Holloywood. The results have left him weary and suspicious of people and life in general. Trust is extremely difficult for him so he finds it safer all around to stay at home and alone. Yet, as the saying goes, all it takes is the love of a good woman to change you. (That, and weekly therapy sessions! ) Enter Mikayla Talbot. In Haven Bay to mend a broken heart, she meets grumpy Gray who is just the man to heal her heart and give her the life she didn't think she could have.
Alexa Rivers wrote these two characters beautifully. There was just the right amount of angst to make it interesting and to make you want to keep reading until the issues at hand are resolved so you can finally put the book down!I would definitely recommend this book.
I received and ARC for an honest review.
