Celeste Washington is a fashion designer out celebrating her success at a club in the Deluca’s territory. Deciding to leave walk to her car alone, Celeste is attacked.
Carmine Deluca just got out of prison after serving 3 of a 25 year sentence for something he did not do. Once released, he’s out for revenge. But while celebrating his homecoming at his club, he sees Celeste. Carmine is immediately attracted, but refrains from introducing himself because a nice, successful woman like Celeste doesn’t need a made man like Carmine.
Little does Carmine know, Celeste is tougher than he thinks.
This was fun. Both the Hero and the heroine had their secrets and it was entertaining discovering both. I LOVED that Celeste was a beautiful black queen, yaaaaas!! I get so tired of the pink nipples sometimes. And I love the way she was written. Not all black women have attitude and are fiercely strong, and I think Celeste is that gray area between societies “black and white”.
Carmine was pretty cool too- he was soft and sensitive with Celeste, but brutal with the threat. I wish the book was longer so I could see more of them together.
This was my first book by this author. I’m going back to the beginning of the series to read more!!

Why wasn't this longer 🙃
My third standalone book of the 𝑺𝒂𝒗𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝑩𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒅𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆 series. I may read several more books now they have been published separately. As fast-paced as Carmine and Celeste's story, I found it to be a well-rounded solid storyline with well-developed characters. Carmine recently released from prison for a crime he didn’t commit. The one thing on his mind is to find out who set him up. Fate had other plans, a little detour. Celeste is celebrating at the Vortex after a successful fashion show. On her way out, she bumps into tall, dark, and mysterious; however, she has no time for introductions. From this point on, things escalate quickly and fast.

Now this is the action, blood and savagery, I’ve been waiting for! The Deluca’s do not play! Well, Hello Carmine Deluca! 😍 While finishing his bid, he is still wondering who had the audacity to setup a Deluca? No, worries they will be handled within the week! Carmine is ready to dive headfirst back into the world of ruling his Chicago territories with an iron fist. Celeste has not had it easy being the only child of the head of the Black Brotherhood, but she has forged her way into the design world. After a successful show, she goes to a club to dance and enjoy herself. Upon entering the club, she felt the air crackle around her, and all her senses ignited at once! What the hell is that? Carmine is enjoying his welcome home party at his club, when he bumps into someone. When his eyes met hers, he was hooked! There was this intense transfer of energy when these two touched, and they both knew nothing would ever be the same again! An incident brings them together shortly after meeting, and Carmine has decided she is his! Although Celeste was immediately attracted to this man, he was bold and borderline arrogant, but something told her she could trust him, and that he would give his all to protect her! He got on her nerves with his confidence, but she can’t stay away from him! Poor Celeste! The violence and drama kept coming at a fast pace, and she didn’t know if she was coming or going! Who is after them, and what do they want? None of that matters to Carmine, as his goal is to take out the enemy, and keep Celeste safe. This man was ruthless! The way he tortured and took out those men had me cringing, but I couldn’t stop reading! 😂 Who is the rat? Enjoyed catching up with Nico as well. Looking forward to the rest of the series, as it is heating up! Great read! 👍👍👍

The Ruthless DeLuca
Carmine may be young, but he was definitely ruthless when it came to protecting the love of is life Celeste.
I love the way the Washington and DeLuca families came together for a common interest. I enjoyed Courtney Dean's take on the DeLuca family. Carmine is an interesting character I'd love to see more on his and Celeste's life together.

oh my baby, oh my
This book was fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed it, this is a must read, Carmine and Celeste story was one of the best DELUCA (Savage Bloodline) stories I have read so far, my only complaint was, the traitor was never revealed and that Agnello was killed 😞😭!

Carmine was a boss. Celeste got on my nerves with the whining. Why did it have to be Agnello? I was not happy about that at all.

It helped that Celeste’s father was from the same world and was in agreement with Carmine’s love for his daughter. Celeste on the other hand was just as enthralled by Carmine but her stubborn strong-willed personality got her in trouble. She soon realized that she could not live without Carmine either. Once all business and revenge were taken care of, they pursued their HEA.

So we have a fashion designer who is the daughter of Black Brotherhood which is one of the biggest crime families in the country. Then you have a Capo who is of the Deluca crime family who is also one the biggest in the country. Who would have thought on the day that Carmine gets out of 3 years of prison, he meets the love of his life at his own club? Now whether or not they will hit off right off the bat or not is up for you to read and find out. There is no slow-burn much. It practically gets straight into the action after a few pages. She's stubborn. He's a savage. Can it work? Does she want to be with a man who is so much like her father?

Good book!
I enjoyed Carmine and Celeste romance! They were connected from the very beginning and acknowledged their love for one another. The only problem I had with this book is that there was supposed to be an informer that was close to them, but it was never mentioned again about who it was. Other than that, I really enjoyed this book! Keep them coming, Ms. Dean!

This was good. Carmine and Celeste were entertaining to read. I know that it was a novella but I wish it was longer. I wasn't ready for their story to end. It's my first Savage Bloodline book, and I'm hoping the others are just as good.

I enjoyed these captivating characters that are amazing with a relationship that is entertaining and filled with vengeance.The couple has a sizzling chemistry that burn up the pages.The story is full of discovery and family. It has a strong man who is handsome and very loyal for his family. There are interesting twists with lots of action and excitement. This has moment's that will have you wanting revenge because of it's nature and topic of content, I am happy say that I am enjoying this series. Carmine story is intriguing and enjoyable it's a Mafia experience that will have you turning the pages until the end. After this Carmine keeps her close to him to protect her. Carmine's enemy is still after him and doesn't mind using her to get to him.

This book was well worth the read, in my opinion, it's one of the best books in the Savage Bloodline series. Carmine and Celeste story was sexy and exciting, their immediate chemistry was felt and portrayed in the story beautifully 😍, I would definitely recommend this book as a must read. My one complaint was, it wasn't revealed who the traitor was, it wasn't David (the model) and Carmine stated that Agnello was too good to have let anyone follow them so it was a rato but again we never discovered who AND the biggest disappointment was Agnello😔...WHY😭...!

Intense and always serious is how to describe Carmine…I love his strength and sexiness. Carmine had to remember his teachings from his father on to think before you act. Celeste was born into the life but made her own way and she was very independent and gifted in her talent. This couple was made for each other!

That Savage Love
This was was good from the go,the fact that the chemistry between the two characters leaps off the pages is a plus. The story flows effortlessly, and you find yourself wrapped up in the story. The characters are likable and relatable, that you understand what the want. This is couple you want to see what they look like in ten years.

Another good mafia read. Carmine and Celeste make a good match because she knows the world he lives in. Her father is also of the same world. With that being said you would think she would go along with them trying to keep her safe without the pushback. I hate that Agnello didn't get in the safe room with her. He didn't deserve his fate. 💙💙

Very entertaining and had a great plot. I still have lingering questions regarding if there was a “rat” among the clan or how the other side knew inside information. I don’t think that was ever made clear. At any rate, Carmine and Celeste were magic together.

LOVED IT
I loved Carmine’s story, he was funny, beloved his woman, family and friends fiercely…they were the perfect match for each other. I’m enjoying this series and love how the stories are being told from different perspectives.
