I’ve always known I needed to attend Septem Stellae University, Seven Stars to those that don’t speak Latin. As soon as I found the tiny school, tucked away on a remote island in the Puget Sound, there has been an ache in my chest pulling me toward it.
When I’m accepted in my sophomore year, it feels like a dream. But all too soon, I realize that this school could be my personal version of a nightmare.
The four Consequences that rule the school—Ezra Carmichael, Fielder Harris, Gideon Brightwater, and Hardin Yorke—have set their sights on me, and that is in no way a good thing.
I mean, sure they’re all incredibly sexy, and I feel drawn to them, just like I felt to the university, but they don’t want me here and they’ll do anything to make me leave.
When they call open season, giving the other students free rein to wreck whatever havoc they can, I stubbornly dig my heels in and refuse to do as they wish.
Things keep happening to me, things I can’t explain. Almost as if by… Magic.
But magic isn’t real. Witches aren’t real.
Are they?
Hand and Tome is a 100,000+ word full length paranormal bully romance novel. Includes foul language and sexual scenes; any sex featured is consensual. This is a reverse harem novel, meaning the main character has more than one love interest.
This book has the tropes you expect from an Academy\Bully romance. The alphaholes, mean girls, and the bullying. It all seems like the standard fair until the end.
I binged read all 4 books that are out now and eagerly waiting for the next. It's an easy read.
As usual the guys have an agenda to keep the MFC safe in their own way but they are pretty cruel to her. AND she keeps trusting them.
There are four "Heirs". Although there is very little distinction between them. Gideon -loves books Harlin - playboy Ezra - "nicer than the rest" Fielder - leader and calculating (his name is constantly misspelled in the books, which needs editing)
I suspect I am not the right audience for bully romance books, but the dark academy RH premise had me intrigued. This is a low-spice (2.5 🌶️ out of 5) slow burn, though I suspect it'll pick up in the sequel. IDK, the plot doesn't make a whole lot of sense just yet, but the MMCs are absolutely awful to the FMC. I'm really hoping she burns them alive at this point lol. The grovel had better be immaculate next book. Also, very little magic on the page (at least none we explicitly get to witness). Merritt and Ben forever 💜
This has to be the longest book of "I'm dreaming" because the plot doesn't move and silly me read it all. I'm annoyed because if I was looking for a bully RH I would have read that, end of.
That ending doesn't make me want to read more, that whole book could have been knocked out in a few chapters. Just how much is the author planning on dragging this out?? No!
After reading book 5 I had to come back and review this series. This will be a great, long series that will keep you well entertained. This first book is intentionally confusing as it brings this world and the characters to life. As in most bully tropes, book one is about the bullying. Mysteries abound, along with mean girls, sexy bad guys, secret society and a school setting. Read it. The series grows with each book.
*retroactive trigger edit: the FMC cheats in book 3. That’s an automatic DNF for me. I won’t change my rating to a 1 star for this book (which is what I typically do for a cheating flag) since there aren’t many reviews and this first book was good. But I appreciate this warning when I can find it, so I’m going to pay it forward for whoever needs it.

Years ago, when I first started reading RHs, I loved bully romances. I was constantly chasing the high from the Royals of Forsyth, and I eventually got burned out.
So I really almost didn’t even try this one. But I spend a lot of time trolling the waters for hidden gems, so I decided to stick it out. And I’m glad I did. This really is an excellent example of a solid bully romance.
I enjoy a good rage roller coaster as long as the crimes aren’t unforgivable. They came close (which is the whole point of these things) but they didn’t cross the line. While I don’t mind OW drama, I wasn’t a fan of one of the guys fucking another girl on page, but it wasn’t cheating so I’ll move past it. No book is perfect.
The FMC is good and doesn’t suffer from the NLOG affliction. She’s body and sex positive, enjoying makeup and whatnot just as much as everyone else. She’s rational and not a pushover. We get the feeling that there is a magical draw between her and the guys, so her tendency to get pulled into them despite the constant betrayal is somewhat understandable. It helps that she never loses sight of the big picture and doesn’t just fall into them.
The pace was good. There was not much spice in this book and honestly I prefer it that way. I get bored by long sex scenes (I’m doing yard work for fucks sake). Which is why I like book 1 of a bunch of RH series and typically DNF books 2. I’m hoping this series continues to be entertaining in the plot department.
This was a really good, interesting bully story. It was kind of your typical bully romance but with hints of a possible supernatural connection. It was a pretty intense amount of bullying and so far I can't see how the guys will ever redeem themselves.
I didn’t know what to expect with this book, since I read one good and one bad review. I was pleasantly surprised with how good this book is. Almost reminds me of the covenant. Highly recommend
I really enjoyed this book!! Ro is an awesome FMC!!! I love how she overcomes the terrible things that are done to her!!! I can’t wait to see how she handles some of the revelations that happened to her in the next book.
