Hell hath no Fury like a Witch Bride Scorned... Anthony Jordan is missing. Along with a magical map he's told no one about, including his partner and daughter, Eva, until it's too late and she's forced to call upon her enemies for help. The Howard Witches get the call and rush to aid in the search—it is their duty after all. But can Eva be trusted? Or is this another trap—another move in her secret game? Or is there an even more threatening force at work on The Demon Isle?
I would love to give this box set 5 full stars!! However, I was unaware that, even after 6 books, nothing was solved, fixed, or anything. It just ended, in a climatic spot. I got NO satisfaction, from just this box set. Lol. It's a cliff hanger!! The books all run together, like 1 huge story. I read through the box set as if it was a single novel. I was kept entertained. It was easy to follow all the characters, & not boring. I got this 6 box set free, so I wasn't going to complain, until I seen the price of the next box set. I'm not paying that price, per 2 more box sets!!??! Ggggrrrr!! Lol. It's great to suck your audience in, but you have to give some sort of satisfaction at the end, along with part of the cliff hanger, of course. I would be more willing to buy the next set if I thought it would have some satisfaction for me. Maybe if the war wasn't started at all, to give it kinda that happily ever after feel, but include it as the start of the next box set, then it would feel more like an option to buy the next set, instead of like a must buy to finish the story. Or.... Did I miss where it said the books/box set was a cliff hanger? It says.... "and leaves their hearts both shattered & hopeful about their future as witches." No, this box set does not leave them hopeful. Don't get me wrong, I do understand where the author is coming from, but I wouldn't have read this box set yet, until I had the rest of them. I look forward to reading more from this author, Ruby Raine. I'm just going to assume that I need the whole series first, next time.
I started with Wilde and Witchy Book 1 and enjoyed it so much I got both the Bundles. Wilde and Witchy is also reviewed. I really enjoy Ruby's stories, they are an exciting mix of action, romance, and sex. Now I'm ready for Wicked Good Witches Books 7-10 and beyond. I suppose you could read the individual books as stand-alone, but I would NOT recommend it. The books continue the storyline and characters of the previous books, and satisfy your need to know what happened after the cliffhanger in the previous book. Know in advance that there is intense, violent action, and strong sexual tension climaxing (literally) in hot, graphic, intense sex. Book 6 ends in an intense cliffhanger, and you can hardly bear the suspense of how things are going to turn out. It really sounds like the end of the series, as all the major characters are in mortal danger of dying in the next few minutes when the book suddenly ends.
I throughly loved reading this mixed supernatural Witches, Vampire, Shifters, Empaths, etc. first part six book series. The Howard’s are amazing characters that protect The Demon Isle (TDI). The Deane brothers return to TDI knowing they are the arch nemesis of the Howard’s; however, fate brings them together in a bizarre twist. There’s so much action and mysterious things happening that you cannot put stop reading this six book first part of the series. I’m ready to read the next part.
This series gives it all. Almost any paranormal character or happening you can imagine. Ruby Raine has done a wonderful job creating The Demon Isle and all the people and supernatural characters that live there. Her books flow easily from one to another without all the bothersome rehashing of what has happened in the previous book. She just gives little reminders so if you do not get the first books you will not be lost. The Howards are a witchy family that protect The Demon Isle and the non magical people who live there. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
An interesting read. Reading about the supernatural is so intriguing. The witches and the vampire don't seam to be very smart though, they always one step behind evil people who are trying to take over. who will be left standing after this latest predicament ?
This really read like a pretty predictable YA, where the spice was added as an after thought. The main story kept me entertained enough to finish the whole series, mainly because I wanted to see how it ended, but that's about it. Parts of it were really predictable, and you can see the bad guys coming a mile away, and parts of seemed really slow going. But parts of it was fun, and I might recommend the YA version to my pre-teen daughter.
