Summer Break served as my introduction to the author's work. At the time when I picked up the title, I didn't realize bit was a novella. I avoid novellas as due to the length, character, plot and world development are compromised. Sadly Summer Break did not escape these issues.

Despite the issues, the story was cute, with some steamy moments, and made for a quick and easy read. The characters appeared interesting, but due to the lack of development, a connection with them could not be established.

Overall, Summer Break provided a short reprieve from the real world. Hopefully the author will consider turning it into full length novel someday.

Florida Sharks #2

Sonny is 30 and a professional football player for the Sharks and once again finds himself in trouble with the team over something that shows up in the media. So they decide he needs a break and send him to a small resort in the Bahamas.
Abril Harris is 40, divorced, mother to 3 teens and a writer. She's on a deadline and the kids are with their dad. She goes to a resort for peace and quiet and to get her book finished. All is going well until she meets the guy staying next door.
Sonny keeps hearing a tap, tap, tap that's driving him nuts. Meeting her doesn't really go over well but they end up having dinner together. The more time they spend together they like each other but isn't this just a summer fling?

This was such a great story, short but pack with so much heat and heart!

A reverse age gap, insta-love story in a tropical resort where the heat went knocking on romance author Abril and Football player Sonny.

Sonny and Abril were so good together and their first encounter was super entertaining and the ending was just the sweetest.

I love Britney Bell´s Insta lust/love stories. This one wasn´t an exception. But what I loved the most, was the age gap, the older heroine. And the steaming scenes. What would you want more, right?
I also have to say that although this booklet is kind of short, it leaves you wanting more and ready to dive into the next story.

Sonny may have stepped from the frying pan into the fire. Abril keeps getting pulled away from what she’s doing. In a blink of an eye, their story will be over. Our couple’s story could be read as a standalone. But if you’re like me, once you come to the end you will begin to wonder if there shouldn’t be more to their story.

We get spice, an age-gap where the woman is the one who is older, and two characters who seem meant to be. Some will say that this book is the first in the series but that’s not quite true. The first book is actually a crossover from another of the author’s series, Take Me Home, and it is one of her co-authored books. Sonny and Abril’s story is a solo venture. Now that I’ve experienced the Florida Sharks series, I’m looking forward to see what Shark will be coming next.

I love Britney’s writing and this book surely brought the heat. Although perfect how it is, I wish it was full length. I fell in love with Sonny and Avril’s story. If you’re looking for a quick read with lots of spice, read this now.

Abril is 40, divorced with 3 teens at home and a romance writer. Having the kids visit with their dad leaves her sneaking an escape at a resort in the Bahamas to meet her deadline. That is until she meets her neighbor. Sunny is a Florida Sharks football player who recently had some bad press. So he’s forced on vacation until the media cools down. He’s enjoying his time until he’s finally had enough of all the tapping he hears next door. When Sonny and Abril meet, their attraction is instant. After having dinner things get steamy. But she wants to leave it at the resort when he doesn’t. Can these two work it out.

Full of angst, steam, emotions, heartbreak, chemistry and so much more. Can’t wait to read what Britney has next.

A great short story. Sonny Lee has broken up with yet another social media type. Thus he's exiled to an island to recover. Once there, he hears the 'tap, tap, 'tap' of a nuisance. A beautiful workaholic supposedly on vacation. One thing leads to another and they spend the rest of their vacation time together. Abril Harris sees their age difference as an obstacle: she's ten years older.

The interactions of these two works. The chemistry of the story is delightful. Enjoy.

Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Happily Ever After. Page-turner. Romantic. Steamy. Tear-jerker. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

Enjoyable Reverse Age-Gap Romance
Forty year old Abril Harris is at an exclusive resort in the Bahamas for a week to take a break and catch up on her writing while her ex-husband looks after her three teen age kids. The tapping of her keyboard catches the attention of thirty year old Sonny Lee in the next room. After a night of talking and drinking a vacation fling starts up. Abril insists it has to end once the week is over even though their chemistry seems to have no end. This is a fast paced short steamy romance. Perfect bedtime read for sweet dreams.

This was a quick, steamy read that I enjoyed before bed. Abril and Sonny meet at a resort and spend a passionate week together, but they decide to go their separate ways without sharing much about themselves. Still, they can’t stop thinking about each other. It’s a fun, no-pressure story that’s perfect if you’re looking for something light and romantic. The characters are interesting—Sonny is a charming NFL star, and Abril is a mature romance writer with teenage kids. Their island fling is exciting and well-written, and even though it’s short, it feels complete. If you like quick love stories with a bit of heat, this one’s worth a try.

Sonny and Abril

It’s quick. It’s Instalust. It’s got one spicy scene.
He’s been sent to the island to avoid scandal and she’s trying to beat the deadline for her book… On first meeting him, he becomes her source of inspiration…
This is a reverse age gap (She’s 10 years older with 3 teenagers)! Him being a football player is barely touched on… I kind of wished for more sport/team dynamic, but this is a short read so I can’t expect everything…

The only issue I have is that it finished pretty abruptly - it’s even shorter than I thought, and it feels unfinished and I think it would have benefitted from having an epilogue with a peak into their future.

Another awesome read by Britney Bell . Summer Break is the first installment in Britney’s Florida Sharks series and I can already tell it’s going to very quickly become one of my faves . I am Such a huge fan of sports romance with all the feels , and sonny and Abrils emotional rollercoaster of a love story is just that , fun , sexy , romantic, angsty , passionate, heartfelt, heartbreaking and so much more . I don’t want to give anything away because this definitely is one your going to want to experience for yourself. But I can promise you will not be disappointed

Summer Break is a super cute short story featuring Sonny and Abril. Sonny is a 30-year-old football player for the Florida Sharks. He's forced to go on vacation to keep him out of the media's sight. He meets Abril, a 40-year-old romance author while on vacation and they have some spicy moments together. When the vacation is over, is the romance over? Or can they see their way past their age and family difference to something more?

Summer Break is a steamy fast pace reverse age gap sport romance. Abril on vacation for trying to finish her book. Sonny is Shark football player who is forced on vacation. Now all he hears is tapping next door and goes to see why, there is instant chemistry between them when they first met. After one night of getting to know each other, a steamy fling begins but Abril wants it to stay a vacation fling. So can Sonny convince her different? I for one can’t wait for more of this series.

There is an interesting premise at the base of this novella. It was a quick read with some sweet and steamy moments. This was the first book I have read by this author and I did enjoy it.
The book is an easy read. I would have enjoyed it to be slightly longer which would have given more opportunities to get to know the characters better as I never quite managed to really connect with them.
The book would be perfect in an anthology or book of themed short stories.

Hot & Spicy Summer Fling Turns Into A Touching Romance

I really enjoyed this spicy romance between Abril and Sonny.

This is a quick, erotic read about a summer fling between an accomplished writer and professional athlete. The chemistry between, reserved 40-year-old, Abril and, charismatic 30-year-old, Sonny is off the charts. I could barely peel my eyes away from their budding romance. I would definitely recommend this book to any readers who enjoy a quick, steamy romance.

Because it's a novella, the story moves along really fast so there isn't much build-up nor an epilogue but it does end on a sweet HFN.

Summer Break is part of a series but can easily be read as a stand-alone. It is an entertaining insta-love older woman-younger man romance that's entertaining and easy to read. Because of its length, there isn't a lot of depth to the story or the characters, but it does have a sweet happy ending. My rating: 3.5 stars. I received an ARC and am leaving this review voluntarily and honestly.

Short easy read Abril is a romance author who meets Sonny, a pro football player, while on a getaway to finish her book. They do not hit it off immediately but once they have a sit down things change. Fast paced reverse age gap she is 40 with three children and he is 30 single with no children.

Summer Break is the shortest book I have read in a while. It’s only 6 chapters and it’s a fast paced instalust/love story.
Sonny is a 30 year old professional football player who is forced to go on a mini vacation. Adril is a 40 year old divorced mother of three who is also a romance author.
It’s an instant steamy connection between these two that ends up becoming more.

Really good, very short, but sweet and a bit spicy at the same time. Nice little break from the longer books, actually. We get a glimpse of the Parker Airlines family business! Love that hat tip, as that was one of my first introductions to Bell's awesome writing. It's always nice to see legacy characters pop up in places you don't necessarily expect. Definitely recommend!!
