Ever wondered what really happened to Princess Diana? Then this gripping new conspiracy thriller is for you. ___________
August 1997: A princess dies in Paris.
When private investigator Marc Novak is hired to investigate what – and who – really caused the death of Princess Diana, the last thing he expects to discover is a brutal, covert world.
But soon he's drawn head-to-head with people so powerful, they'll kill to protect their secrets. To them, murder is legal and the truth can be tailored to suit the highest bidder.
25 years on, could it be that the fatal crash wasn't just an accident in Paris?
An Accident in Paris is a new series that starts out with a strong first book. The concept of a conspiracy thriller around the death of Princess Diana makes the plot rather compelling. There’s been so many speculations and unknowns about this high-profile case that it offers the ideal base for a novel in this specific genre. It’s action-packed and fast-paced, very reminiscient of blockbuster spy movies. There are quite a lot of characters and subplots, which can feel a bit discruptive and digressive at times, but in the end, it all ties up together. I would advise to read this more as a piece of fiction rather than anything else, though. Good entertainement that would translate well as a film.
It’s taken me a while to read this. But that doesn’t mean it’s particularly bad. It’s just so complex. Most people will have come up with their own ideas and conclusions about Princess Diana and her death. This story has a touch of noir, serious, slow burner, but no means is it bad. It makes you think about the real life event, whilst being a fiction book. It’s a balancing act - writing a fiction about a real life event, but Collinson does it well (and so he should since he’s a TV writer). An interesting, intriguing idea.
I’ve picked up this book from the airport when I was visiting Paris. The title being the only reason for picking it up (and because it was in english, as I can’t ready french)…
The conspiracy part is interesting and intriguing, but I really did not enjoy the pase or James-Bond-like moments.
Well written, I really enjoyed the different perspectives each chapter offered, but the short chapters kept tricking me into thinking I'd made more progress than I had 😅 Overall, I enjoyed the read and never felt stagnant, the pace was well set.
Look forward to further adventures of Marc Novak

A book I rarely put down, it kept me awake sometimes as I just had to read the next chapter, then the next etc. I could comment further but I don't want to spoil anyone's enjoyment so I will just say, 'Well worth a look'.
Great conspiracy story. Based on the facts of the case but then turns into a sort of James Bond Jason Statham kind of thing with lots of twists and turns and murders. Very much enjoyed.
