Review is for the Shore Thing series, books 1 - 4:
I read Noah's book first, not realizing it was the fourth in a series. I liked it well enough that I went back and read the first three books in order (binge read all four books in a week).
Overall, this series gets 3.5 ~ 4 stars.
Setting: small beach town in Florida named Coral Pointe.
MCs: four 30-something best friends who met in college (Cole, Levi, Ford, Noah, and Burke) and their respective partners (thus far: Aiden, Sage, Abe, and Hunter, but we all know Jared is the one for Burke).
Secondary characters: vary by book, but include Cole's loving but gossipy mom; Miss Marjorie, the kindly matriarch who works front desk at the inn; Teresa, who owns the town bakery and serves as a sort of fawning fan for the men and their SOs; Aiden's stubborn grandpa; Ford's mom and sister Gabby.
Steam: moderate (3.5/5)
Themes: beach life, low angst, second chances, friends to lovers, HEAs all around (I'm anticipating pseudo enemies to lovers when Burke and Jared get their story).
My favorite book thus far is Convincing Cole (noteworthy: Aiden's bi-awakening and the way Cole's self-esteemed blossomed with Aiden by his side), followed closely by:
Landing Levi (sassy Sage and oblivious Levi are too cute; "You've been Saged!") and
Navigating Noah (there are many "taking care of baby" scenes in this book, since Hunter finds out he sired a kid with a one-night stand, but the romance doesn't get buried, and Noah falls for the man AND the baby).
My least favorite is Flustering Ford, which isn't to say I disliked it, but Abe and Ford's relationship wasn't as well developed as the others, and Abe's reasons for ghosting Ford after high school were weak at best.
