I’m TR Cameron, science fiction author. I’ve been an avid consumer of the genre since I was six, I think, when I broke the seal on my Dad’s copies of the Asimov Foundation books. It’s been all downhill since then.
I have a day job that I love most days, and writing is pretty much my only consistent hobby. When I find time that’s not already filled with my wife, my daughter, my writing, my work, or dodging the affections of our clowder of cats, you can find me playing video games (currently Dishonored 2 – I’m a little behind the times on this one), watching things (Marvel movies, American Gods, Agents of Shield, Justified, The Expanse, Gotham), playing board games, or, naturally, reading.
My favorite authors in Sci-Fi are David Weber, Jean Johnson, John Scalzi, CJ Cherryh, and the giants: Asimov, Pohl, Bear, Heinlein, etc. I read a lot in other genres too, and am a big fan of Matthew Woodring Stover, Michael Anderle, Jim Butcher, and I could go on and on and on. If I had to choose one favorite, though, it would be Stephen R. Donaldson, whose Thomas Covenant series was transformative for me.
Probably my pie-in-the-sky dream for my writing career is that someone would make a movie or television show of my books and I could be a part of the production. Sure, unlikely, but a clowder-dodger can dream, right? My more practical dream is that I can keep writing and both entertaining and connecting with my readers for years and years to come.

This book was a wee bit of a disappointment for me. The rest of the books in the series have been fairly solid three out of five star ones which, to me, is not wow great but certainly read worthy. I have enjoyed reading them.
This book felt like it was going downhill though. There was just too much nonsense and even some woke rubbish in it for me to overlook.
Again there are two main story arcs in the book. Cait’s job as a Marshal and her duties to her family, the coven and their problem with the furry infestation. In the previous books the two story arcs have worked pretty well even though zapping between stories in book is something I generally do not like.
This time however it felt messier than in the previous books and I did not like it very much. Perhaps because I felt both story arcs felt like they were not well put together and just stomping around without getting anywhere except for a bunch of action thrown in here and there.
Also, it really annoys me when authors venture into areas they obviously do not understand. This virtual hacking nonsense where they enter some virtual world a’la TRON when hacking into their opponents computers is not working for me.
Worse, the author just throws out utter nonsense in several places. For example having everything on one chip so it can easily be replaced if the hardware becomes infected. Hardware does not become infected for Christ sake! It is called HARDware for a reason. Software yes, firmware yes but NOT hardware.
There are some saving graces though. I still find Cait quite likable and her sharp tongued dragon and his if-you-cannot-solve-it-by-burning-it-down-it-is-not-worth-solving attitude is really cool. Also, there is one development for Cait and her powers that I really liked. I just hope the author(s) don’t screw that one up.
So, bottom line, this books was not bad enough for me to consider not continuing the series, yet, but it was the weakest one so far.
Once again, from the moment I opened this book, I couldn't put it down until the end!
Cait and Aza have their work cut out dealing with an assassin that won't quit, and Cait has also got an alter ego that she made up, in order to go stealth mode on occasion - the trouble is, it seems that every time she tries to do something good, she ends up with even more obligations to deal with!
Not only that, but the Shifters in Ireland have upped their game, to the point where it's getting dangerous for the Coven in their Village, and the nearby Town of Westpoint is attacked.
As much as Cait loves all the different aspects of her life, she would really prefer to have at least one day, where she's not got a building falling down on her!
The only comfort that she has, is the amazing partnership that's still developing with her Dragon, Aza, and the friendship that she's found with one of her team mates - sometimes it's good to just sit over a box of Pizza, and whine! Lol
As I said, this is yet another excellent adventure, and I'm really getting to know more of the main characters, at last.
I'd really love to start the next book in this series right now, but it's silly o'clock in the morning, once again, so that'll have to wait until I've managed at least a few hours of sleep.
But, once I HAVE slept, I'll be starting on Book Five: 'Witch With A Dragon',' where Cait goes on a treasure hunt with her family (she's got to make some extra money, somehow, after all!),, then meets Aza's family of Dragons once again.
I'm really having to be stern with myself, as I'd just love to keep on reading, but I know I really do need my sleep, too! Lol
So, once I have read book five, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of this next book of the series!
The SOG is sent to secure a building that is attacked by magical & humans working together. By the time they discover the explosives in the basement it's too late to.stop the terrorists. Yoshino reveal that she is alive to Cait. The shifters prove they will kill anyone to get their land back. Lexi.steals a briefcase from MIT for her contact. She then agrees to become partners with Shane. Carl starts killing the dragons. The dragons create a trap for Carl who walks right in. He is surrounded by dragons however, they haven't been trained how to fight. Carl escapes with bullet holes & stab wounds. He is able to take a potion & crawl through a portal.
Can't wait to see what new adventure awaits Fait and Aza!
The situation with the Dragons and Roses has reached a point of no return. I am intrigued by the conflicts Cait and crew face with the gang wars. Those folks are primed for war. The time for negotiations long past. Cait has not a stirred pot to deal with but one that has boiled over. To add to her woes the wolves on her home front have taken drastic steps to drive out an entire town from their land and homes. For further troubles the assassin is drawing closer to his goal to take Cait out. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Cait and Aza have their hands full with something going down in each part of her life. She is facing shifters, hit men, gang wars, and crazy radical groups. I love all the action and humor in each of these books and look forward to the next to see how things turn out.
I love the Author's Notes! I am always eager to get to know the author a bit better and gain insights into his writing process, character concepts and plot ideas. It brings everything into better focus and makes me want to "punch it" as well! ;p Enjoy!
Witch With a Target, the fourth book of the Witch Warrior series, is an ebook I borrowed through Kindle Unlimited (KU). This series should be read in order, as each book builds around a main plot. The authors have done an excellent job of maintaining the momentum and building the story line. Plenty of action, great dialogue, strong characters--primary and secondary.
I love the smooth transition from one Book to the Next. The Characters have indeed become old friends I I do occasionally generate some concern as the Story moves along. Good Job!!
I liked it a lot! Definitely gonna check off some boxes! Thank you for your universe! Now if you could find a way to give us regular people a tickle of the ability, that would be even SCARIER! Love the read Jeff Howell
Well, actually the story in book four kicks but, not the book. The story also leads Cait inito blowing up a building, or at least not stopping a biding blowing up. Nothing boring here.
The authors have written another intense book. The characters are well thought out and realistic. The action is ongoing and flows from scene to scene. There is just enough snark and magic to keep you interested.
I'm having a hard time putting the he books down until I read whole book. This is Book 4 and I am ready for the next. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Good pace and plenty of humor while Cait meets challenges one after the other. Aza, the dragon, is lots of fun as well. Looking forward to the next book.
