‘With his tenth victim locked in the cage the Poppy Killer returned outside to close the van door. At that moment he felt something. He wasn’t sure what. Just a feeling. He looked around. The trees, the darkness. Everything, and nothing. He walked back to the cottage, took one last look out into the night sky, then closed the door … oblivious to the fact that someone had been tracking his movements. Oblivious to the fact that his next victim – his eleventh – would be his last.’
Alison Marchant - the victim; Lisa Hopkins - hiding a dark secret; Jackson Brown - a lost soul; Harry Black - seeking himself; Bernie - suppressing something deep inside; DI Trish Bond - searching for answers. One by one their lives are entwined, entangled and then engulfed by the Poppy Killer’s actions, with events taking one shocking turn after another leading to the dramatic and fateful climax when the truth about the Poppy Killer’s eleventh victim is finally revealed.
I enjoyed this thriller story with all the characters that were within this book. The main characters were Alison Marchant, also known as Lisa Hopkins, Jackson Brown, Harry Black, Bernie,Trish Bond, and the poppy killer.
This story had quite a bit of twist and turns throughout and surprises, too. It had me guess what could happen to some of the characters.
This book had action, adventure, and suspense throughout. There was some time a bit of a giggle within. This had a bit of a mystery within. This was fun trying to find out what was happening to all the characters that were within.
I decided to try this book after seeing it in Kindle Unlimited. This is my honest, unbiased opinion.
