The danger in New Orleans grows as Orlagh, Queen of the Seelie Fae, strikes out again. Voodoo Queen of New Orleans, Josephine Touchet, must get together with her friends and family, to bring together the vampires, faeries, and witches to end this threat once and for all. Prophetic dreams of death and destruction, caused by her unborn daughter, Solomon Cille, plague JoJo’s sleep, warning her of trouble to come. The trouble must be stopped before JoJo’s nightmares are made real.Solomon Cille is young, but a heavy burden hangs on her head. The Seelie Queen chose her to host a parasitic faery within her body, a blood elemental that feeds off of Solomon’s essence and urges her to go to war against her city, but things don’t go as Orlagh plans. Solomon is not brought down by the invasive fae sharing her body. In fact, a different sort of magick happens, they become friends, and Solomon’s power grows. With the help of her family and control over a unique type of magick, Solomon prepares to face the Seelie Queen head on to save her city and protect her love.
Southern-born Victoria Clapton is no stranger to writing. She completed her first book of poetry at age eight and her first novel at age thirteen. Multilingual, friend to all creatures, (and in particular, especially a friend to cats in need of rescue), Victoria is a forever curious world traveler with a mysterious knowledge of things and places that encompass many lives ago, an avid collector of saga books, a practicing vegetarian and yogini with her feet well balanced in earth’s splendor. She and her cat companions enjoy all things Viking, faery, vampire, new writing instruments, herbology and anime.
I absolutely adore all the books in the Binding Universe but this one was extra special. It goes to the heart and soul of the paranormal universe in New Orleans and makes you care about each and every person in this very diverse group of friends. Solomon is the daughter of two characters we already love and to be able to witness this soul's journey in life was truly a delight. Solomon shows the kind of strength we always knew a child of this union would have. If you haven't read the other books, start with the Binding Trilogy....and be sure you make your way to this book...I'm absolutely in love!
So excited to see Josephine and Al getting featured in a book! I love all the characters in this world so much, love the world building with the vampires, witches and fae, and especially the New Orleans setting with the culture, references to locations in the French Quarter and most of all, the FOOD! SOLOMON CILLE brings back all our favorite characters from previous books, who I loved seeing again, because Jojo and Al have a new blessing on the way, but in this magic-rich city with the fae up to no good, can we expect everything to go right? I loved the group problem solving together, and especially the K/C scenes and the ending! This was such a cool book! 5/5 stars.
This is another great book by the amazing Victoria Clapton. Once again she captive the reader with clever openings/prologue.. The way the series ties into and explains everything is perfect. The music playlist that is suggested in the books, are also very good tunes. Thank you again for another great read, Now on to the last book in this series
Always wonderful to visit with Sybella, Demien, JoJo, Al, Colleen and the rest and the new additions to the family just add to the delight of this family. Gender Fluid Fae and a new Voodoo practitioner all the better.
