Cupcakes. They’re not my life. But they’ve certainly become my daily bread. As the salesperson for a pop-up cake stand, I get a bonus every time I sell those sweet little suckers out. And I do. My grandfather says I could sell sand in the desert if I had to. And I suppose I could—if it meant putting food on our table and keeping a roof over our heads. I do what I have to to make ends meet.
That’s how I meet him.
Drake Grant. Blue eyes, salt and pepper hair, and a smile that almost makes me forget my name.
He buys the final box of cupcakes at a ‘bargain’ price. And when I see him again the next day, I think it’s because he did his math and realised that was no bargain at all.
I couldn’t be more wrong.
Turns out he owns a big chain of car detailers, and he wants someone to join the sales team for his line of custom products. He offers me a job. A job that could change my life.
Now I just have to try not to fall in love with my new boss.
Shouldn’t be too hard…

Note: Get your cupcake in a plate, because this quick and cheeky read is over-the-top, and oh, so fun. It’s filled with tension-filled moments and frustrated sighs between a curvy girl and the hottest CEO you’ve ever seen.

I love the younger woman /older man trope. Drake has a big company and he hires Emmy. It's not long before they become lovers and Drake wants forever with her. But Emmy has her doubts. In her world the poor broken girl doesn't get the handsome rich guy so she wants to protect her heart. Drake will do whatever it takes to find her. Will he convince her they belong together?

Sweet, romantic, steamy safe with a hot older man and his curvy woman! I loved the tiny angst, the sassy heroine, the sexy hero and the nice epilogue!

Stars: 5
Length: Novella
POV: Dual
Series: Sweet Curves Book 10 (Stand Alone)
Ending: HEA
Re-read? Yes

“No, I don’t kiss girls I hire. I don’t kiss girls on the street, and I don’t have a harem of women, or any woman for that matter. There’s only you, Emmy Townsend. I want you and no one else.”

I really liked this older man/younger woman story. It was super sweet and I like that there was no family drama about the whole thing. Pops just wanted Emmy to be happy and well taken care of.

The conflict in this book comes from Drake feeling he's too old for Emmy and Emmy worried that someone who loves her will leave her like everyone else in her life. Together they are just the sweetest and I love how Drake really builds Emmy up and tells her it's not always about having that degree. Sometimes, you're just talented and good at things and a degree is a piece of paper. He didn't need one to build his empire.

Highly recommend!

Dripping in Love and Sensuality

The innuendo. The flirting. The banter and teasing. The frank, open conversations (like when she comes right out and tells him she wants to be taken over his desk!). Add all of those together and get a novella that is sensual, dripping with heat, sweet, and just a general fun read!

Life for Drake has had plenty of bumps but he rose up and built a successful business. At 45, he's still looking for the one. Along comes 19 year old Emmy. Life has thrown her a few more curve balls but yet she regularly has a smile on her face. The chemistry is great and the support of Pop and Alice make them even sweeter together.

If you're looking for a fun, a bit over-the-top, quick and easy read, you may want to stay right here. I may be voluntarily reviewing an ARC but these are honest words. Happy reading!

Pretty fast pace and little steam an okay novella.

Emmy is a gift at selling things and shes selling cupcakes and shes good at her job she sells some to Drake who loves her sell skills and is crushing on her so he buys and comes back to give her a job.

They both have some lust/pinning but they try to be perfessonal for 2.5 mins and move into we going date and be together!! Emmy does have some second thoughts since Drake has said he loves her and anyone who loves her always leaves her so she trying to keep her walls high.

No ow/om drama, no cheating, Sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Emmy hasn’t always had a life to dream about, abandoned by her mother as a young child she has lived with her grandparents ever since, although now it’s just her and pop after she lost her grandmother the year before. At nineteen she’s now trying to get her high school diploma whilst holding down a job. Which is how she finds herself selling cupcakes at the mall to a devastating handsome man who wants her to come and work for him. She can see the desire in his eyes and he’s making her believe in a future but everyone she has loved and loved her has always left her in the rear view mirror, can she risk her heart for love or run before he walks away too?

Drake has built the life he has from the ground up, he is a success in business but not in love. When he ends up walking through the mall and meets Emmy he knows that fate has just intervened, his one is right in front of him. A girl who could sell anything, but he’s looking for a lifelong commitment and it’s one he wants with only her. Could a nineteen year old firecracker really want a man like him or is he too old for her? Will a confession of love convince her to stay or has he pushed her away?

I really enjoyed Drake and Emmy’s story, two people who were meant to be together and Emmy felt like a character that I could totally empathise with and her reasons too. I would 100% recommend this quick, sexy little read. 4*

This book was not it. I know that some people don’t mind an age gap in their romance novels and normally I don’t mind it either if the gap is not that big. I can maybe do an age gap of 10 maybe 15 years at the most but this age gap was 25 years and that is just too much for me personally.

Also the author kept pointing out this age gap repeatedly in a multitude of different ways which made me think that maybe the author was uncomfortable writing this large of an age gap as well. With her pointing it out so often it made the cringe moments even more unbearable and the book a chore to get through. In actually started reading the next book in the series, Cheesecake, just so that I could clear my mind of some of the moments happening in this book.

I’m glad it’s over. This one I’ll definitely not touch again and I’m glad to move on because this was not it.

Happy reading

This was okay. It’s advertised as a BBW romance, not even just a curvy girl romance, and Emmy’s body type hardly comes up at all besides to casually mention her “curves.” Maybe it’s my pet peeve or something, but if I’m reading a book where the fmc is plus size, I wanna know that she’s actually bigger! I can’t imagine what she looks like in my mind as I’m reading without that description.

Anyway, I still enjoyed it somewhat as this was also an age gap and I love those. Emmy is 19 almost 20 and Drake is 45. It hardly comes up as an issue in this book but still knowing the gap is there just does something for me.

Cute-ish and worth reading once. Maybe between a 2.5 and 3⭐️ read for me.

This is almost a short story. I liked the romance between Drake and Emmy, it was sweet and romantic. On the other hand everything happens too soon; there was no real character development in this story. We meet all the characters one minute and the next there’s a *spoiler* a wedding. I also disliked the age gap between the characters I think it was a little extreme to make this story believable.

Emmy is a 19 year old who had to drop out of school to take care of her aging grandparents. After her grandmother dies she starts working on her GED, while doing odd jobs to help pay the bills. Her latest job is a pop-up cupcake stall in the mall. Everyday she sells all her inventory she gets a bonus, this day she only has 24 more cupcakes left to sell. She sees a gorgeous silver fox walking and calls him over, she sells him the cupcakes, and tells him which one he will like best. He actually eats it back at the office and realizes she was right. He can’t stop thinking about her, so he heads back to the mall the next morning. He introduces himself as Drake Grant and he wants to offer her a job in sales at his company. That evening he goes to her house to deliver a new phone, and stays for dinner with her and her grandfather, Pop. After dinner he kisses her when she walks him out. She told him his age, 45 did not matter to her. Her first day at work goes well. Their first date is cute, and she goes back to his house, their first time together is hot. Drake tells her he loves her before falling asleep. This freaks Emmy out, everyone who has loved her has left her. Her mother abandoned her at eleven, her grandmother died when she was 18, now she worries Drake will leave her. She sneaks out and goes home. A very pissed Drake can’t reach her or find her, until his admin suggests using her phone to track her. Once he finds her at home, they talk and Emmy explains why she’s freaked out, but he calms her down and then proposes. Lots of I love you and orgasms. Two epilogues, one two years later with with wedding and her due soon, ten years later with two children.

It's a cute story.
I've read many of the Sweet Curves books and some can be good and make me want to reread and others, like this one, I can do without reading again.
Emmy is the kind of girl who's learned "I love you" doesn't always mean you'll stick around. After all her mother left her with her grandparents to chase after her own dreams. Then her grandmother died and Emmy feels as if that's just another person who's left her.
When Drake first meets Emmy he feels a chemistry unlike anything he's felt before. But he also sees true potential for her is marketing and sales. Torn over his need to help out this young woman succeed and his lustful feelings for the much younger women have Drake making decisions that he knows aren't 100% purely based on business.

It's a really short story with the events and characters all being introduced back to back. I will say one thing I did like about the book was Emmy's dedication to helping her grandparents out when her grandmother got sick. Even though she knew that she couldn't do much without a high school diploma she still dropped out to help and then went back to night school to obtain her degree after the death of her grandmother.

Older man/Younger woman - Beautiful beginning! This is about Drake and Emmy. Emmy has not had a great start in life as her mother abandons her before her teen years – leaving her grandma and grandpa raise her. Due to her grandma’s illness she had to drop out of high school and now is working in the mall selling cupcakes. She is 19 years old a month away from twenty, but she has a thing for older men. While in the mall she notices a hunk of fox and brings out her sales techniques and sells him over 2 dozen of cupcakes to take back to the office so that she can get her daily bonus.

Drake feels this attraction to her and cannot stop thinking of her and decided to pay her a visit the next day at the mall, not for more cupcakes for his cupcake! He knows she is younger and should not be interested, but he is and gives her a job as a sales rep in his company and then offers her a forever! The question is will she take this especially as she feels that anyone who loves her will end up leaving her either by choice or death!

This is a short fun read about a younger woman falling in love quickly with a much older man. I am not sure how realistic the story is, but it was a great read. Emmy is mature beyond her years due to living with and taking care of her grandparents. She dropped out of school when her grandmother was dying. As a result, she has been working and around older people most of her life. She is working on her GED at night and taking any job she can find to make money. She is working in a pop-up cupcake stand and is at the end of the day when she yells out at an older man to see if she can get him to buy her remaining cupcakes so that she will be sold out and will get the bonus that she needs. She begins making her pitch while checking out the stunning, handsome man. Drake is shocked by his instant attraction to the young lady with such a great pitch about the products she is selling. He thinks she is gorgeous and a great saleswoman who would do great at his car care business. Nice story that is fun and easy to read.

Emmy is a resourceful young woman, she quite school to help her grandfather, now Emmy is determined to get her GED while work to help out Pop. Working at a pop-up stand selling cupcakes, she is determined to do the best she can. The best is to sell out everyday. Grant is amazed how Emmy was able to not only read him, but to convince him to buy the two dozen sweets for his office, so much he goes back the next day to offer her a job.

I loved Emmy's character, she is strong, easy going and determined. She says what is on her mind and does not back down, but this does not stop her from have doubt due to her past. Grant is an older gentlemen that built his company from the ground up, so he can see something special in Emmy, but what else he see is someone he can love.

This is a easy read with amazing character, Pop and Alice are a hoot. Pop is just as feisty as Emmy. Alice I liked her relationship with Grant. A great story to get lost in.

She's barely out of her teens. He's an older gentleman. And yet, they're drawn to each other. When he offers her a job, regardless of her no-high-school-diploma status, it's as if he's handed her the world. And by the end of the book, he does.

This was a sweet romance. Sure, it did make me a little uncomfortable knowing that he was older than me and she's not even out of her teens yet. But the chemistry between them was great. And you can't help who you fall in love with. I did find her a bit irritating at times, but that could be chalked up to her immaturity due to her age. And please don't market a book as BBW and barely brush on her size. If she's a BBW, own it!

It's a good book if you're looking for something sweet and don't mind a storyline with a large age difference. I generally enjoyed it.

Emmy is manning a cupcake pop-up in the mall. She needs to sell the last two dozen cupcakes. Emmy is a great salesperson-she can make you buy when you have no attention of doing it. A well-dressed man with salt & pepper hair stops and buys the 2 dozen cupcakes, even though he doesn’t eat sweets. Drake knows a good salesperson and comes back to hire Emmy for his business. Drake wants Emmy to be more than just his employee, he wants her for himself. Emmy is 19 and Drake is 45. Really can this work? Emmy gives each job she has had her all. She wants this to work. Drake is smitten with this young woman. He sees himself in her and he wants to have a family with her. This is instant attraction and on Drake’s part instant love. Emmy is afraid of these feelings. What will happen? Can they work together? This is an instant everything - job, feelings, passion, and love.

Emmy has issues with abandonment, starting with her mother who walked out in her early years. She had to drop out of school to care for her grandmother. Her current job is selling cupcakes at the mall. She is a very good salesperson and always sells out of her cupcakes, earning her a bonus. A handsome man, Drake, is her final customer of the day and she sells a couple dozen cupcakes him to take back to work and share.

The next day, Drake is back to offer her a sales job at his company. Despite their age difference, he is interested in her and wants a real relationship. With her insecurities over being abandoned, will Emmy back away from the situation? Or can he convince her that he is there for her and will always be?

This is a cute story. Age is truly just a number, but if they can trust each other and want to be together, spending time with each other is a good start. Grab your copy and see how their story resolves. Can they trust the HEA that is right within reach?

Megan Wade never disappoints with her well-written romances, and Cupcake, the 10th novella in her Sweet Curves series, is no exception. Emmy and Drake's story is a sugary sweet and delicious older man-younger woman instalove. Their meet-cute is adorable: Emmy, selling goods at a pop-up bakery entices passerby Drake into buying the last two dozen cupcakes she has on display. Impressed with her sales ability - but even more so enchanted by the beautiful, young and curvy goddess - Drake returns the next day and offers her a job in his car detailing company. When he realizes just how large the age difference is, he hesitates for just moments before deciding she is the one for him. And the sassy yet innocent young woman is just as enamoured with the gorgeous CEO. With chemistry for days, and an excellent supporting cast (Pop!), Emmy and Drake's romance is one not to be missed.

Emmy is 19 and fighting for the life she wants where she can relax and enjoy herself instead of worrying about when he next paycheck will arrive. While she is selling cupcakes she runs into Drake. Little does she know that he is a major CEO and about to change her life. Drake is all business all the time. He has clawed his way to where he is and won’t stop till he gets everything he wants but when he lays eyes on Emmy the conclusion of this story is not what he thought at all.

This is a steamy and fast alpha romance with a strong female as well as an equally strong male who believes in everything that she doesn’t think she can be. This is a refreshing story where he supports and cultivates her strengths and celebrates their love at the same time.

Emmy and Drake grew up with a lot of loss and have always wished for a full family and someone who just loves them and stays. He finds her in a mall, selling cupcakes, and falls for her instantly. He comes back the next day and offers a job in his company and hopes for so much more... but they are 25 years apart in age. Will it work? Will she want it?

Drake stops to see Emmy at home and meets her grandfather, who raised her, and they start off their relationship. Things happen quickly, with intense feelings and emotions. They have their ups and downs and a few surprises, but it all comes together down the road. Loved the ending and epilogues, and just everything about the story. Will be rereading this one again for sure.

First things first; I really like the cover of this book!
Cupcake is the tenth book in the ‘’sweet curves’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Drake is a successful businessman. When he meets Emmy he not only wants her as his woman but also as an employee.
The chemistry between Drake and Emmy is clear to see and I liked them together. I thought they made a cute couple. I liked Emmy’s personality.
I loved the bond Emmy had with her pops. Their banter is hilarious.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series.

I loved reading Emmy and Drake`s story. Emmy is a sweet and innocent young woman that has had to grow up a lot faster than most.... she has a lot more strength and value than she realices. Drake is a charming and honest man who sees all of Emmy for what she`s trully worth. He trully sees her from the first moment he laid eyes on her, and has been falling in love with her ever since! This is such a beautiful insta-love romance! Incredibly well written with amazing and loving characters! I loved the quirky and fun relattionship between Emmy and her grandfather. This was a sweet romance with so much sweetness and incredibly steamy scenes!

I received a copy from BookSprout; this is my honest review
-Insta-lust on both sides; almost insta-love with some doubts mixed-up. I loved how they met.
-Drake is a possessive man and made my lady bits acted up. He gets a female trainer instead of the regular males so they don't sniff up Emmy. Enough that he's willing to put a desk in his office just for her. I loved it!
-I little bit of drama that doesn't last long but the makeup is fast and furious. Totally engaging.
-I love epilogues and we get two! I'm just wondering why Drake & Emmy waited two years before they got married - I just thought it was too long; I'm also surprised Pop didn't bark at that.
-This is one of my favorite in the series. Don't hesitate, just buy the book.

Emmy is selling gourmet cupcakes in the mall when she gets down to her last two dozen. She spots a gentleman about to walk by her stall and makes him a proposition. She didn't know at the time how much her life would change.
Drake knows when he hires Emmy that his life would change, but not by how much?
I liked how the author approached this May-December romance. Though young in years, Emmy's past has matured her.
The characters are endearing, like Pops, who is one of the coolest grandpas ever written.
Cupcake is a sweet instalove story that will have you looking for more by this talented writer.

Emmy is a very mature “almost 20 yr old” who left high school to care for her sick grandmother and grandfather. She is feisty and has not filter, she is also a born salesman. Her love and appreciation for her grandparents motivates her to work hard to make sure the bills are paid and her Pop gets his medicine. Drake has no family and has built an empire alone. He is captivated by her the moment she calls him over to her kiosk in the mall selling cupcakes and convinces him to buy the last 2 dozen. 25 years is a big age gap but something pushes Drake to pursue. Can these two heal each other and find their hea despite the obstacles?

Love Emmy, I want a friend like her. She has no filter, says what she wants, tells it like it is and is hilarious. And Drake is hot, hot, hot. He meets Emmy when she needs to sell her last 2 dozen cupcakes and she talks him right into buying them all. That is where the fun starts. Drake wants her on his sales team and in his life, even though he is 25 years older than her. Love has no bounds. She accepts the job and the sparks fly. Fun couple hot sex can not get any better than that in a book. Loved the chemistry and the fun these two seemed to have together. Great read.

Emmy Townsend works at a pop up cupcake stand near the mall and is very good at making a sale. That is where Drake Grant saw Emmy selling the cupcake and instantly wanted her to work for him in his sale department. Drake is CEO of car care product company that he started from the ground up. With no college education he has become a very successful man and he can also see the same thing in Emmy. With a lot of hard work she can be very successful, but there one problem Drake is having with Emmy, he is falling in love with her and Emmy with him.
