How to survive yourself is a collection of prose poetry divided into different sections where you can find personal experiences and poems about broken hearts, sadness and anxiety but also about love, joy, hope, feminity, self-love, recovery, empowerment and sexuality. This poetry book is the healing journey of someone who was incapable to love herself at the beginning but after years, experiences, fallings and learnings she understands how worthy she is.
"The truth is that we're all made out of breathlessness."
Marina Aimèe's collection doesn't shy away from some hard topics and acknowledges how pain and heartbreak have shaped the person she is now. I loved reading about her experiences and how she's learning to save herself and what that looks like. I especially appreciated her poems about living in the moment and not taking anything for granted. 💕
I too found this book on Instagram. Loved it. It really spoke to me. Our journeys are not the same but very similar. Wish I had this book a year ago when I started my journey. I felt so alone and broken. This book has helped me realize that I'm not alone and the thoughts I was having were not unique to me. Thank you Marina!
Trust in yourself. Darkness won’t last forever. You’ll see the light again. But you need to keep going. You need to SURVIVE YOURSELF. Keep walking. Keep living. You have infinite reasons to do it
I literally came across Marina on Instagram last week and liked what I read so I bought this amazing collection and I am so glad I did. She takes you on a healing journey, full of hurt, love, mental illness, discovery of the importance of learning to love oneself. I recommend this highly. Marina is a gifted young writer and cannot wait for more poetry!
