Rabbit and Mole are best friends and roommates. They have a great friendship, but sometimes it gets a little strained. In this charming story, Rabbit is desperately trying to get to sleep, but the noise of the clock ticking and the faucet dripping and the cat purring are driving him mad! Mole is kind enough to quiet the noises so they can both get to sleep, but soon it is Rabbit keeping Mole awake with his snoring. At last, Mole finds some peace downstairs in an overstuffed chair by a roaring fire, where he finally falls fast asleep. A perfect bedtime story for all ages.
Rabbit can't fall asleep because of all the noises: tick-tock, drip-drop, prr-prrr, and bang-bump. Mole, Rabbit's friend and roommate, tries to silence the noises so Rabbit can sleep. Finally, Rabbit is asleep but Mole can't sleep because of Rabbit's snore-snore noise. Mole gets out of bed, carries his pillow and blanket, walks downstairs, and curls up in the overstuffed chair and falls to sleep with the cat. Prr-prrr, prr-prrr.
A delightful book about friendship, patience and understanding, and falling asleep. The colorful, vibrant illustrations provide a look into their lives as Mole tries to help Rabbit. The text is repetitive with the sound words in italics. A wonderful book to settle young ones down for bed.
Quiet and reassuring bedtime story about rabbit, who is having difficulty sleeping due noises and his roommate Mole who is patient and helpful. But does Mole get any sleep helping out Rabbit? Illustrations, specifically the facial expressions of the animals, are adorable.
Rabbit cannot get to sleep because of all the little noises in the house - the clock, the tap dripping, the cat purring. For some reason his roommate Mole gets to deal with all these noises, not Rabbit. In the end Rabbit falls asleep to blissful quiet, but then Mole can't sleep because it's too quiet.
I could totally relate to this book so I might have loved it even more than my 4-year-old did! My child liked waiting to see what sound was going to bother Rabbit next.
