Sunset SEALs #8

Finding Home

Rate this book
A life of service to the SEAL Brotherhood and his country to protect the innocent. A life of honor
finding and exposing victims of human trafficking—and finding love in the middle!

Navy SEAL Jason Kealoha and investigative reporter Kiley Worthington are no strangers to dangerous
adventures. A year has passed since they helped shut down a human trafficking ring operating out of a
stolen cruise ship.

Jason and Kiley settle into the white sugar sand beaches of Florida's Gulf Coast, the place where their
love was born. The tropical paradise is a refuge from her work in Portland and his Coronado SEAL Team
3.

Going forward proves more difficult than they planned no thanks to enemies from their past. The threat
casts a dire shadow across the couple's idyllic, sun-drenched world.

Now Jason and Kiley must each decide which of their priorities is the most important, but will they
choose the same things?

Finding Home is the eighth book in the Sunset SEALs series, but you might recognize Jason and Kiley
from book four, Escape to Sunset.

This novel wraps up the series. While you can read it by itself, it's more fun to binge the whole series!

With this story we get to catch up with Jason and Kiley and the life they are building together. Now married and expecting a child visit Jason’s family in Hawaii to observe some traditions about the upcoming arrival.

Their trip is interrupted when Jason is required for a mission to Mexico and Kiley returns to Florida until an unexpected trip to Portland has her once again facing the dangers of her past.

This story find a great balance between suspense and romance. We not only get to catch up with Jason and Kiley but the other characters that we know and love as well.

We are back with the Sunset SEALs as well as with Hawaiian Navy SEAL Jason Kealoha. He met the love of his life, Kiley Worthington, an investigative reporter in book 4 of the series. That one is titled Escape to Sunset. Though Finding Home is a standalone, I would high recommend the reader to read it prior to this one. It will give them a more detailed background of this couple.
In this story, we have more than one plot going on. Jason and Kiley are married and expecting a child. The author takes us to Hawaii where we are introduced to Jason’t family, and their “naming” traditions. Very touching as well as enlightening.
When Jason is sent with the team to Mexico, their mission is a continuation of a previous one . Meanwhile, Kiley’s unexpected involvement with human traffickers puts her in danger.
This is a story about family, traditions, the reality of human trafficking, and on a personal note, setting up priorities, and realizing, that a dialogue, love and respect are of outmost importance.
As always, it was nice to spend time with some of the Jason’s teammates whom we have met in previous stories and series.
I have to confess it was not my favorite and for me was more a 3.5, due to the multiple plots, but It was still entertaining and good.
I was entrusted a copy of this book . The opinions expresses are solely my own.

It was so good to hear more about Jason and Kiley. I know they were both excited about the baby Kiley was carrying. It was so interesting hearing about the naming ceremony back in Hawaii with Jason’s family. The two of them were so in love and such a great couple. Jason and his team had to go on a dangerous mission in Mexico, and I know it was hard for Jason to leave Kiley. Kiley’s old boss back in Portland keeps calling trying to get her back to write some more articles on the trafficking as the people that were arrested before are out of jail. No matter how many times Kiley tells her old boss and friend that she will not get back into investigating and writing, they still keep calling. It seemed like not matter how hard Kiley tried to keep out of trouble, trouble found her! This is an interesting book that I encourage you to read. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

A*R*C for honest review with no compensation 4.5 stars

Finding Home is book 8 and the final book in the Sunset SEALs series by Sharon Hamilton. Can be read as a standalone but reading Escape to Sunset (book 4) sets the stage for this final book.

Jason and Kylie travel to Hawaii for the naming ceremony of their baby, having fun, enjoying family and the countryside. Until Jason is called for a mission to Mexico. Kylie goes back to Florida but danger is lurking in the shadow for her… What happens next will keep you turning the pages to see where it all ends.

Thanks Ms. Hamilton for a wonderful series and seeing old friends from Seal Team 3!!

Twists and turns, promises broken, risks and danger and this was just Kiley. With Jason deployed on a dangerous mission all the promises she made go flying out the window, so instead of being safe, calm and happy on her beloved beach and not causing him any added stress or worry so he can concentrate she does exactly that. Her and unborn baby put at risk, it made me mad and I wanted to shout at her, she betrayed all her instincts. Yes I know without this happening the story would be less thrilling, so I understand why and I enjoyed reading it, I think maybe the getting mad at a character was the intention lol, it worked. Jason really needs to sort out what he wants to do because even at the end it wasn't completely settled. This series has certainly been interesting and I totally get the pull to live on a lovely beach, I also get military get deployed sometimes for long stretches, but if they are home would you not want to be with them even if it meant living near base. Not always possible for them to travel 2 or more hours in a commute if they have meetings and training. I could see these relationships falling apart over time if they don't work a balance out. Overall this is a great series, romantic, exciting and interesting, but definitely not a complete HEA in my own opinion, maybe they will crop up in other series and have things sorted, we will see. Despite my frowns the ratings are are still warranted, I was totally invested and gripped throughout, just frustrated with it.

Jason & Kiley

I love an extended storyline! Jason & Kiley are now enjoying marital bliss and expecting their first child together.

I just love how descriptive the author paints the Hawaiian scenery. I can almost see the beauty and smell the lovely flowers. I thought the intricate naming ceremony was so eloquent and sweet. I had no idea this practice was part of the culture and how much the extended family was involved in a new baby coming into the world. The Hawaiian culture seems so reverent and holy.

I love Jason’s commitment to his culture and his family values as well as his new marriage and SEAL team. This kind of spirituality seems to keep him calm and grounded during stressful times.

It takes Kiley a little while to grasp the concept of Jason’s culture and beliefs and her ability to commit to their new way of life. She finally sees the world in a different and more personal view now that she has Jason and baby on the way.

This focuses on a very nasty side of the dark world we live in. Human trafficking is a horrific element of human atrocities. Kiley has done her part in exposing these monsters so they can no longer operate and will serve their justice in jail. Jason and the SEAL team are doing their best to rid the world of as many of these traffickers as they can. Hopefully, the world will be a better place once this practice is stopped.

Great second verse to Jason & Kiley’s story. I loved it!

I received this ebook ARC, from the author, on the condition that I write an honest review.
The continuation of the story about Jason and Kiley, from book 4 in this series, about Seal’s. Jason and Kiley are married, and expecting their first baby. He takes her Hawaii, to attend a spiritual event of the naming baby ceremony the author does a beautiful job of describing the area, and the family closeness. They finally decide on a name, and the whole family approves of the name. While in Hawaii, Jason is called to his Seal team for an op mission in Mexico, while Kiley returns to Florida.
Jason’s Seal team is sent to capture a man doing illegal drug, and human trafficking. They catch him off guard at a night club and send him stateside, for his punishment.
Meanwhile, when Kiley returns to Florida, her friends from Portland, attempt to get her back to doing investigations, about the human trafficking in Portland. She refuses to get involved, but she is convinced to go to Portland, to say goodbye to a very close friend. While there, she is kidnapped, and abused, but her former employer finds out where is, and sends help to save her.
Jason and Kiley return to Florida, and both agree, that it will be their permanent home, as they await the birth of their baby.
As always, Sharon Hamilton does a wonderful job writing about Seal teams and the women that they love and protect..

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

So, I did not read the first book and was not sure if I was missing anything but it was easy to understand the story line and of course if you have read any of the Seal books - you remember Kyle, Fredo, and the rest!

Jason and Kiley are trying to figure out how they can find a place for both of them as she lives in Florida and he is still on his Seal Team in California. While they think on this, they take a trip to visit Jason's family in Hawaii. That was so moving as you see the heritage that Jason shared with Kiley, especially as they are expecting their first child.

While Jason gets called away for a mission, Kiley gets a call from a dangerous situation that she had left in Portland and the reason she is hiding in Florida. This is the only part that I did not like because Kiley had promised Jason that she would not go back and that she was leaving behind her previous occupation as an investigative report. So, when she gets a call, she breaks that promise and goes to Portland. Sigh. You just know that she is putting herself in danger and my yelling at her to stay home - didn't work...lol

Well, a story without a little drama would be boring so while I was upset that Kiley broke her promise - it did make the book hard to put down and glad that Jason and Kiley came to a decision about their future living location.

I am loving that Sharon Hamilton is revisiting the stories of couples we previously read and came to love and showing us how their lives have progressed following our initial exposure. I am finding a theme in that somehow the women these SEALS love seem to end up in getting in additional dangerous situations usually linked to the story where the couples me and fell in love. In Kiley's situation, Jason mistakenly believed that she would enjoy and be content as his wife and future mother to their unborn child. Well, despite her promises not to further investigate or report on the people involved in the human trafficking ring, he finds that while he is miles away in another country that she has been kidnapped by some dangerous people who believe she is still threat or has information about their criminal behavior. Jason must rely on others to rescue the woman he loves and had promised to always keep safe. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, especially the detail that was given showing the beautiful heritage and culture of Jason's lineage.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.

This is book eight in The Sunset Seals series and it continues Jason and Kiley's story and it is definitely a must read. Jason and Kiley are married and expecting their first baby and going to Hawaii to see Jason's family and it was so beautiful how the trip to Hawaii for there baby's naming ceremony was described and the description of Hawaii's cultures and you feel like you are there with them living through and seeing everything. When Jason get a call for there mission to Mexico Kiley travels back home alone only for things to get even more complicated for her as she is now in danger because of her involvement in The Human Trafficking Ring yet again. This book was a real page turner and I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting until the early hours of the morning and I loved the outcome of there story. I can't wait to read more book's by Sharon Hamilton in the future as she is an amazing author and writer and her book's are definitely worth reading.

I Voluntarily Reviewed a Copy of This Book.

Sharon has taken on us for a ride of unexpected twists in terms in this continuation of Kiley and Jason’s story. We begin with them arriving in Kauai for the naming ceremony for the child they are going to have. You will learn of the many traditions that go into the naming ceremony. But we also learn how Kiley and Jason in someways are at odds with each other on how to decide what, when, where life will take them - Hawaii, Florida, California and even whether Jason will stay with the teams. Jason leaves on a mission into Mexico that ties in to the human trafficking from the earlier book and Kiley’s previous editor from Portland is trying to pull her back in with information that people from the previous human trafficking story are beginning to return to include the mayor being released from prison. Things begin to get more and more difficult for both Kiley and Jason while they are separated. Will things work out for them. Read this highly informative and moving story that will open your eyes to both heartbreak of human trafficking and the wonders of Hawaiian traditions.

This story is about Jason and Kiley, who we met previously in the series (book was called Escape to Sunset). It is easier to enjoy this book if you have read the prior book, although you don’t have to read it (just might be a little harder to settle into the story). Overall I'd say 3.5 stars, but with no half star option I think its fair to round it up since its better than a 3 star book.

Kiley is pregnant and we get to meet Jason’s family in Hawaii and learn more about their culture, including naming traditions. During this same time, Jason is sent with his team to Mexico to continue a mission and Kiley is placed in danger when she gets involved with human traffickers unexpectedly. All in all a nice revisit with this couple with some suspense (and other team members Yay!) thrown in. One thing I liked about this book in particular is the development of Jason and Kiley, who are adjusting to what life will be like with a child.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my true and honest opinion.

FINDING HOME is an exciting conclusion to Jason and Kiley Kealoha’s story, which began in “Escape to Sunset.” While Jason’s off on another mission, Kiley gets drawn back into the very elements that sent her running straight into Jason’s arms, to begin with. Only this time she has more than herself to protect, she has her whole world. In this story, we get to experience a bit of Jason’s heritage and how Kiley begins to open up to other possibilities for their family’s future together. But before they can have their HEA, Kiley’s faced with making a challenging choice that has the potential to end what she and Jason are only just beginning to build. There’s enough drama with some edge-of-your-seat suspense mixed in to keep you thoroughly involved. Add in the charming romance of Jason and Kiley’s new life together, and it’s sure to make this a very entertaining tale, one you will find not only enjoyable but well worth the read.

Finding Home sunset seals book 8 is the last story in this series and wow Sharon Hamilton you truly know how to make such a wonderful ending filled with so much love between Jason and Kiley Kealoha and their unborn daughter. Jason and kiley are married and staying in sunset Beach FL with Jason flying to California for his seal team 3 but can he give up his team 3 ? I think I fell in love with Jason when he brought his best friend body home and that started his and kiley romance but now a years passed and they're married and gonna have a baby ,but when kiley breaks her promise to Jason will it possibly end her life and her unborn daughters life?can Jason and his team save her? Or will their op go longer and send some one else save them? This was by far one of my other favorite books by Sharon Hamilton and you absolutely blew me away. I am still just ugly crying because I absolutely love Jason Kealoha and thank you so very much for such a fantastic series. ❤️

For the best reading experience, you should at least read Sunset SEALs Book 4 if not the entire series. This book is the continuation of Jason and Kiley's story. They have recovered from their encounter in Escape to Sunset and are now married and living back in Florida. Jason must still travel to Coronado to be with his SEAL team. Kiley does not want to move to Coronado, but the cost of Jason commuting is taking a toll on their finances. Jason and Kiley must decide just how important where they live is to each of them and what they are willing to compromise on. Kiley also needs to learn to listen to Jason and that it is important to keep her word before she winds up losing his respect and damaging their relationship. This story is a good ending to Sharon's Sunset SEALs series, and I am sure that you will enjoy the final visit to all the characters.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I will start by saying that I would highly recommend reading Escape to Sunset before this book to get the full backstory. It will give you the details that will make this book come full circle for you. While I am sad this is the final book in this series it did not disappoint. To see the love, loyalty and family that extends across the men and their women had me in tears and my heart full. This one is about Jason and Kiley. They are excited about the baby. It was very interesting to learn about the naming ceremony back in Hawaii with Jason’s family. These two are so in love. Jason and his team get called to go on a dangerous mission in Mexico. What will happen with that? Will they get the target? Will Kiley’s old boss take no for an answer? No spoilers here! Check itnout and find out your answers. It is definitely a must have. The entire series is in my opinion! I loved it

This was a good story but not my favourite...i loved to read more about Jason and Kiley and some part like the naming ceremonie were magical really. However the end kind of feel rushed...we don't see the rescue just the aftermath, i'm not sure Kiley gave the message or not and then it's kind of she is the only one deciding after all what happened it sure does not feel welcome. She has not matured enough in my eyes.

The main story for the Seals though is great, i loved to see them interract and would love to see more of their stories

so it's a good instalment in a great series, better read in order though it works as standalone.

This book continues with Kiley and Jason. Kiley and Jason are now married and expecting their first child. They're on their way to Hawaii to see his family and have a naming ceremony. We get to see a lot about Hawiian culture, and it feels like you can see the island and smell the flowers. Of course, life can't be easy. When Jason is called out on a mission Kiley is home and now is in danger because of her involvement with the Human Trafficking ring. Will things work out for Kiley and Jason it seems like a lot of things against them. Danger, action, wonderful characters and it's always nice to see what Seal team 3 is doing.

Finding Home is another Sunset Seals book this can be read as a stand alone but is easier to follow if you’ve read Escape To Sunset. Jason and Kiley are happily married living in FL. He has been working from Coronado where his SEAL team is stationed but thinking about transferring. He would like to return home but that’s a future idea! Kiley was a reporter who uncovered a trafficking ring in Portland OR where she was being hunted by the mob. Things are going great as they find out they are having a baby and have visited his family in Hawaii. Jason’s team gets called to Mexico and while gone things get dicey for Kiley as she get dragged back into the Portland drama!

Finding Home, book 8 of Sunset SEALS series written by Sharon Hamilton. We are back with Jason and Kiley as they are expecting their first child and Jason is still serving his country. They met and married in a previous book, and this is sometime later. Kiley is left to care for things while he is sent out of the country to do more top secret SEAL stuff, aka whipping some bad guy butt! I love how we get to follow each of them as they are doing their own thing. We get a front row account of the mission as well as the fighting on the homefront! I love this series and each one of the SEALS is an amazing character in his own right. Jason is someone special!

Finding Home is the eighth book in the Sunset SEALS series. I’ve loved the stories about the SEALS and their strong women that have found happiness at Sunset Beach. This story is about Jason and Kiley as they start a family and try to decide where to live. I love that their relationship has grown so much. Jason goes on a mission, and Kiley gets drawn back into the danger of the reporting world that she left behind. He has to work with his friends to save her. Sharon Hamilton has written a fast paced suspenseful story with a great happily ever after. I would recommend reading Jason and Kiley’s first story, Escape To Sunset, first.

This is a follow-up of Jason and Kiley one year after they met. Kiley is back in Florida thinking everything is safe after her kidnapping in Portland by the human trafficking ring she stumbled upon as an investigative reporter. Jason is deployed and she gets a call from her friend to return to Portland to say goodbye to a person she knows is dying. She feels as if it will be safe but it turns out it is not. Jason is still deployed and finds out she is in Portland. Does she get out of the trouble in Portland? Can Jason rescue her? You need to read this exciting book to find out. Ms. Hamilton continues to write exciting books with adventurous SEALs that are so awesome.

Loved the way the author goes into more detail of Jason's heritage and traditions of his family, beautiful ceremony of welcoming a child to the family before it is born. I love Jason and was really trying to like Kiley for him, like I loved the heroines in the SEAL world, but there is this almost dismissive attitude towards Jason, his feelings and the promises she makes to him. Many times I wanted to smack her silly, at times she comes across as having no common sense. 4 stars

JD Hart gives a great performance, the way he was telling the story and how his voice brought the characters to life. I love listening to him. 5 stars

I loved how this book showed the growing connection between Jason and Kiley, and especially the way they honor his family’s traditions. I think that was my favorite part about the way this story began. It hurt my heart to see them have to go their separate ways when Jason’s duty called after we’d just seen such beautiful time with them together. However, I’m still deeply troubled by Kiley’s “too stupid to live” tendencies. I appreciate that she tried to resist, but… But. I also feel like there’s some of the overall story that I didn’t get all of. I guess I’ll need to read the rest of the author’s books to pick up on what I think I missed.

Jason is a Navy seal in Coronado.
Kiley is an investigative reporter.
You meet Jason and Kiley in Escape to Sunset and this is a continuation.

There is a lot going on with cleanup on an evil criminal activities happening in Portland that were exposed by Kiley in her newspaper articles.
A mission in Mexico with a cartel involved, also Hawaiian Family Traditions.

This is a great book to read to see what happens.

This book has suspense, romance, traditions, drama and emotions.

Great Job. Sharon Hamilton !!!!

One awesome story about Jason and Kiley. When they met in Florida and fell in love, they had no idea they would be in somewhat a disagreement about where to live. Kiley wants to stay in Florida and Jason wants to stay in San Diego or go to Hawaii.
When Jason goes on a mission, Kiley manages to get into some trouble.
Will Kiley be saved, or not? Will Jason's mission be a success?
I got a free copy for my honest opinion. This opinion is freely given.

The rest of Jason and Kiley’s story

Jason and Kiley are supremely happy. She’s having their baby and they’re settling into married life. After going home to Hawaii for their baby’s naming ceremony, things seem even better. Then Jason must go on a tough assignment. While he’s away Kiley gets a call that a good friend is dying and decides to go back to Portland to say goodbye. Unfortunately, there are people that want her to do something that goes against everything she believes in. And they’re willing to kill for it. With Jason so far away, who will help her?

Jason and Kiley return but with baby on the way. Their return to Hawaii with the wonderful scenic descriptions and time with his family are wonderful!! But the naming ceremony was magical. When Jason has to go on a mission it was great to catch up with all the excellent men who serve under Kyle's command. Kiley spending time with the other wives provided for nice catch up scenes. Unfortunately Kiley gets herself into some trouble while Jason is away. Sharon Hamilton has given us another awesome read in this series I love.

I received an ARC of this book.

I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Finding Home . I really enjoyed reading this story . This story is Navy Seal Jason Kealoha and his wife Kiley's continued story . They live in the Florida gulf coast now . Kiley left Portland after helping shutdown a human trafficking ring . The couple are enjoying their life together till their past comes back to threaten them . This story is well written and the characters are great . It's full of romance and suspense . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

This book continues with Kiley and Jason. Kiley and Jason are now married for a year and expecting their first child. They're on their way back to Hawaii to see his family and have a naming ceremony. A lot of visual imagery with Hawaiian flowers and smells of natural and the Hawaiian culture. Of course, nothing is easy for these two. Jason is called out on a mission Kiley is home and now is in danger because of her previous involvement with an article about the human trafficking ring. This book has an amazing ending. The book itself is full of lots love and suspense.
