Finding Forever

Rate this book
Two weeks at a beach cottage with my ex-husband? A nightmare waiting to unfold…

I’m a single mom who's seen enough broken promises to last a lifetime. When my unreliable ex-husband insists on a family vacation, I’m skeptical. But it’s there, amidst sandy shores and ocean breezes I meet Maverick Hughes. Gorgeous, sophisticated, and utterly devoted to his daughter, he was everything my ex was not.

Instead, it ignites a passionate romance that sets my world ablaze...

As our children become fast friends, Maverick and I are irresistibly drawn to each other, sharing stolen moments and late-night conversations. Just as hope begins to blossom, reality comes crashing down: our exes are dating each other, and they're hell-bent on tearing us apart.

Now, Maverick and I face an uphill battle…

With custody fights looming and the weight of our scars threatening to destroy our future, we must decide if what we've found is worth fighting for. Can we overcome the obstacles and embrace the love we've found, or will our exes pull us apart?

Ok (spoilers)

The idea for the book was interesting, however the execution was a bit boring. Basically we had the usual cliché deadbeat mother who sells her child for cash.
I also got frustrated by the h behavior. She was wrong to leave her custody agreement up in the air for fear of the « system «  but when her immature behavior bit her she turned on the person who tried to help her in the first place. Instead of having a discussion with the H she turned off her phone?! How old is she? What was really frustrating was that we had the usual lukewarm apology and although she was in the wrong somehow it ended up being the H fault.
As an aside I didn’t understand why they had to pay her ex to see his kid.
Also a note for the proofreaders. At the beginning she is medium caramel and later on she’s deep brown like her mother.

Great story!

I really enjoyed this story and the characters were very entertaining. Loved the chemistry between Maverick and Gina it was smoking hot 🔥! Victoria was unbelievable and a horrible person. Gina was weak minded and I hated how she let Chris treat her. I was so glad when she stood up to him. Loved the journey they took to happily ever after. I highly recommend this book to my fellow romance readers you will not be disappointed.

Gina and Maverick are 2 parents that make sacrifices for their kids when it comes to the exes. A planned vacation brings them together and the feelings begin. Mycah and Penny are the best of friends. Penny is so funny and says whatever she is thinking..which leads to information coming to light. Plans are made and the future is discussed. Chris and Victoria are unbelievable and horrible parents. Their true colors are confirmed. I saw a different scene in my head when it came to Victoria's deal. The ending was how it should be. Looking forward to what Niomie Roland writes next.

ARC review:
I thought this book overall was pretty good. Gina & Maverick might of started off in an unconventional way but by the end there was no denying their love for each but even more evident was their love for their children. I typically don’t really care for slow burns but in this it was just the right amount medicine.

CUTE STORY

I liked reading Maverick and Gina's story. I love the cover. I liked the way their story started as play dates with the children and then blossomed into a second chance at love again. Both exes were something else. I think both could have been more forceful with their ex. I wanted to see a bit more of Enrick I know he has a story, but still, I was hoping to get a bit more background on him in this book.

It was a good read. Gave it 3 stars because it could have end sooner and needed to be less drama.

But that's just me. Definitely a good read loved the kids, Enrich, Maverick and Gina. But good lord the extra characters and extra drama ehh. I could do without.

All in all, I liked it.
