I've fallen from grace and right into the hands of sin.

We were fugitives. But weren’t we always? With Warren trapped as an untamed beast, things get dicey for my crew as we navigate an escape from the ambush at the government building. It wasn’t as simple as just getting free. Not when there was a traitor in the midst, feeding the government information on us, sabotaging our plans.

Without many options, I blindly followed Warren, Ansel, and Rex to safety. Though my body was physically safe, just how safe was I from them? In the short time since knowing them, everything was changing. The cravings for the mutants became nearly unmanageable. Who was I to fight against the lust, knowing these men were my only weakness?

My desire to prove my worth to one very stubborn Alpha caused me to disobey his direct orders. The result had me walking right into danger. I was a government trained assassin, a killer, a professional hit woman and I would do anything to protect the mutant men I’ve come to adore. Even if it cost me my life.

And my life might just be the price to pay for disobeying the Alpha.

Blaze is the second book in Delilah Mohan's With the Shadows series and it was great! The story picks up right where the first book, Umbra, left off with Thea and the guys fighting off soldiers in an epic fight while Warren loses all control. It was chaos at its best.

I love Thea, she is a badass assassin who has the skills not only to keep herself safe but is more than capable of being any male's savior. But the girl is in deep denial about her omega status. I know she doesn't know a lot of stuff about how the designations work considering but it's obvious and at this point, she's just lying to herself but at least she got that smart mouth to keep her going and the power struggles between her and Warren are epic.

Speaking of Warren. The man is powerful and intimidating, I mean he's a freaking dragon, but has the biggest heart for Thea. Too bad she likes to irritate him on purpose and he falls for it every time, they just love to push each other's buttons. As for Ansel, he is a lot more dominant than I thought while Rex is the teddy bear that I thought he was. He keeps the balance of all the aggressive personalities. All the guys have fallen hard for Thea and want to have a family with her in the center.

It's obvious that the government is absolutely crap fostering hatred for the mutants they created. Causing unrest and making it impossible for mutants to live their lives. I love the fact that Warren and the guys are the leaders, fighting to change the government so mutants can have equal rights. They don't want to rule they just want to live like everyone else. However, some stuff got revealed in this book... stuff is about to go down and I'm wondering where it's gonna lead.

Blaze was fast-paced and very entertaining, I loved every moment. It had the keywords like reverse harem, omegaverse, and multiple perspectives but it was also unlike anything I've read. Mutants, fights for equality, crazy powers, a unique omegaverse system, assassins, and so much more. This book had high heat and lots of action with betrayal, mating, and government conspiracies. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

If you thought Thea was thrown into the deep end in the previous book, learning that the Government that provided a job and a roof over her head wasn't everything she thought it was, you better believe there is much more to be revealed in this book! The Government is really showing their true face and the amount of secrets and deceit is astronomical. Bit by bit Thea and her mates are discovering the truth to what the Government has been planning, learning why omegas have been such a rare designation in the mutants, and plotting to bring equality back to the world, because mutants are people too.

We start to see more of Thea's omega side in this book, even if she doesn't fully understand it. It's nice to see that although we're dealing with mutants, the omegaverse aspects are still there driving Thea's reactions to her mates and being the missing piece they've been searching for. Thea's nowhere close to the typical submissive omegas featured in omegaverse books, but she's beginning to soften a bit the longer she is around her mates and embracing the feelings they bring out in her--for Rex and Atlas at least. Her acceptance is a work in progress, but she's starting to get the picture of what it means to care for others and be cared for in return.

The cliffhanger is going to bring such a traumatic turn of events that I'm not sure Thea is prepared for. On one hand, these people are the enemy now and will do whatever is needed to get the results they want. The fact that her mates will go to the end of the earth for her will also bring them right to the Government's front door. On the other hand, I'm not sure the Government, with the way they have been going about things with the omegas and mutants, fully understands the capabilities of a mated omega and how they continue to mutate and absorb the powers of their mates to become even more powerful. I think Thea's current abilities will be a major surprise to them, something they can't necessarily reproduce in a forced setting with the mutants they have at hand. Even if they are able to create mutants naturally, the bonds between the males and females won't be similar in any way to Thea and her mates. I really hope that Thea shows them that mutants are not to be messed with. They wanted a superior being, well, they got it.

That ending caused high anxiety

Holy Moses! This book was good!! So much happened! I’m a little annoyed with the fmc, simply because she is so stubborn that she’s playin dumb. She knows it. She’s reminded of it constantly yet she pushes back and now it’s got her and her softy in a severe pickle. Rex is my fav. He’s so sweet, and never demands anything of her, and she played to his senses and now they are in serious trouble at the end.
I loved how the fmc is secretly really smart. There are moments where she reminds everyone how capable she really is.
I am interested to read more about her borrowed powers. I’m hoping that’s what saves her and Rex, and if she taps into Warrens powers, she can kick some butt. I’m certain if that comes to pass, Warren will be the only one that can pull her back just like she does to him. I’m not one into reading much about spankings, but the fmc needs a lesson in what being careful means. I can’t wait to read more! I need to know what happens next!

Blaze, book two of the With the Shadows series, is bigger, hotter and more delicious than I could have hoped for.

The action adventure storyline continues as we see Thea settle in more with the three hunky mean she finds herself with. And let me tell you, she "settles in" very, very well with the men separately and together. The steam is so hot it will burn up your reading app!

Expect another cliffhanger that moves us beautifully into Sonder, book three of the With the Shadows series.

This book picks right up where the first one left off. Thea is coming to terms with what she is and where her future lies. It's interesting to see how the secrets are revealing themselves. I love the way she is bonding with her men. This one ends on another cliffhanger so I'm really excited to see where the next book takes us. This was an easy, exciting read for me.

Book 2 picks up right where book 1 left off and the action just keeps going from there. You get more answers about what is going on in this world, you get to see the relationships build between Ansel, Warren, Knox, and Thea. There is plenty of action and lots of growly alpha steaminess. Loved it and I need the next book now!

Blaze

Thea and her men are back. Book 2 picks up right where book 1 left off. We even getting a cuddly, murderous dragon that makes puppy eyes and growls when it doesn’t get what it wants. How adorable! This book was book and had me laughing so hard at time. I am thoroughly enjoying this series and I am looking forward to the next book.

Blaze takes us right back to where we left off, in the middle of an ambush and Warren is a dragon! We get so much more information about the world they live in and how the government has been handling not only the mutants but omegas as well.

I love that Thea is not a classic Omega. She is ruthless and badass. She knows nothing of the mutant culture and what being an omega means. The guys are helping her figure it all out though, and it is steamy 🔥🌶🤯.

The guys are really showing more of their personalities. Warren is showing his vulnerable side, while Ansel is more Alpha than we ever realized. Rex, as always is a teddy bear, but he is also showing how put together and responsible he is. They are all fulfilling something within the relationship that makes this work so well.
This is action packed and steamy. Leaving us on a cliffhanger that is intense! I can’t wait for the next book!
