This was an Absolute Stellar Conclusion to the duet!

Suddenly Us picks up right where Suddenly Broken left off, so make sure you are reading the duet in the order of release. Ainsley and Mason are realizing they have feelings for one another that go past their friendship, thanks to years of correspondence through emails and text messages they have gotten really close and Mason was there for Ainsley when she was going through a devastating loss so it was only natural that their feelings would grow though it all.

In this second installment of the duet we get to see how each of them come to terms with their feelings and watch as they mess up and then repair not only their love for one another but their friendship as well.

I really loved this duet, I haven't read the initial story where the duo found there HEA but I do own it I'm undecided on it I should go back and see what changes were made because there were a lot considering one book has now become two but I guess I will always have that option since the paperback is on my shelf. I started the series with Matt's book which is due out in December. Next up is Jacob's book, which releases next week.

I listened to the audiobook version of this duet and really enjoyed the way it was done. Tyler Tetsuda and Emma Wilder did a fantastic job with bringing Mason and Ainsley to life, I especially loved the way they each did their own parts during the texting / letter scenes instead of having to alter their voice to mimic the other person within the chapter.

I would recommend this book to those that enjoy Steamy New Adult Romances, Friends to Lovers Romances, or Siblings Best Friend Romances.

Happy Reading!!!

First of all, the second half of Ainsley and Mason's story is just as heart-wrenching and angsty as the first, so keep those tissues handy. Ainsley eventually relocates to Seattle where her brothers live and plans to open a music school. She's learning to navigate a social life, with her brothers' help, her blast from the past can’t seem to leave her alone, and Mason continues to do the one she can count on most.

Mason. Ah, Mason! I didn’t talk about him much in my Broken review, but this man! He's there for Ainsley during every challenging, traumatic event, feeling things as if they're his own heartbreaking tragedies and not hers alone. And then she wants him to teach her how to date, and I’m pretty sure we all know where that's going. But he has this idea, based on his parents' horrible relationship, that he's not built for love or marriage. Oh, Mason, bless your heart.

Of course things get worse before they get better, and what a wild, emotional ride it is! Make sure your safety bar is in the locked position and hold on tight. This poignant, riveting, phenomenal ending will jumble you up and toss you about, and I guarantee you’ll love every second of this touching, addictive, heartfelt journey to forever!

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Note 2: This is a duet. Please read in order. Suddenly Broken is the first book, and ends on a cliffhanger. Suddenly Us is the final book in the duet.

Triggers: death, divorce, emotional abuse, toxic relationships, drug abuse, brief violence, miscarriage mention.

My previous review for Suddenly Broken: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Wow this book was one hell of a scorching and banger read!

I truly enjoyed this conclusion.

The same emotions and plot line follow us as Mason and Ainsley figure out who they are to each other, while battling the same demons holding them back from living life, but with the help of side characters and a few enemies to push them along to realise who they truly are to each other and live life to the fullest.

As always I loved the emotions behind it all, the chemistry, the emotions the development they all go through as they age and learn a lot more about themselves and the people, and their own traumas. I loved how the side characters supported them too and all, it was wonderful. The enemies and drama did tend to get on my nerves since I feel the novel could've been shorter. The steam was supreme in this one, and the romance too was damn cute and sweet, I fell in love immediately.

And I even forgive Mason's antics at the end. Because damn it the hero was just so worth it.

And I loved them together so much.

Thanks Claudia for making me wanna fall in love and snatch Mason away hahah!

Loved it.

Until the next read,

Suddenly Us is a beautiful and phenomenal ending to the outstanding Unexpected Everlasting Duet. Words can’t express how this heartfelt romance has captivated me. This is a story of deep romance, healing, falling in love and heartache that is coupled with a wonderful hero and heroine and an amazing familial bond (the Decker’s are one of my favorite families) which brings Mason and Ainsley’s story full circle.

And just like Suddenly Broken, this book will without a doubt tug at your emotions several times yet it’s worth every moment. I was heavily invested in Mason and Ainsley’s story as they consumed me with their love and undeniable and unbreakable bond. They will seriously grab a tight hold of you and I promise, you will be sucked in from the beginning to the very end. The Unexpected Everlasting Duet is binge worthy and is one of the BEST duets of 2022.

Suddenly Us is the conclusion of the Unexpected Everlasting Duet and this concludes Ainsley Decker and Mason Bradley’s love story. It starts off where book 1 ends. This duet was beautifully written and I loved Ainsley and Mason’s love story. The heartbreak and angst continue through this book and it was an emotional rollercoaster.

I thoroughly enjoyed this duet more than I expected to! I loved loved loved Ainsley so much more and this duet is one of my favorites!

Tyler Tetsuda and Emma Wilder were again phenomenal in this audiobook and I look forward to hearing more of their work.

Book 2 starts right where we’re left off in book 1. The only difference is that both Ainsley and Mason are starting to see and feel that there is something brewing underneath the surface.

She’s still trying to find her place in the world. Her texts and emails with Mason are still going strong. Her family is finally knowing the whole story about her relationship with her ex and they have come around and want to support her no matter what. But she wants more than life than feeling like she’s floating in the air. She wants a family of her own to love and cherish. Enters Mason – she wants him to show her what she needs to do to start dating.
He’s been questioning his reasoning for his need for her. He takes her up on her offer and soon they end up tangled up in each other. But he too has had a strange upbringing. And when things get too real too fast, he leaves. But he quickly realizes his mistake and wants another chance. And here’s where I felt completely in love with Ainsley. After everything she suffered up until this point has shown her that she deserves someone to love and cherish her for her. She will not let him back into her life too easy. He had to grovel and did it beautifully.

HEA is finally here, and I was over the moon for both of them. Despite everything and all the problems they encountered and had to overcome, the really were perfect for each other.

5 star review Suddenly Us (Unexpected Everlasting Duet #2) by Claudia Burgoa

AUDIO REVIEW:
I could not wait to listen Suddenly Us narrated by Tyler Tetsuda and Emma Wilder who certainly did great job in bringing all the emotions to this roller coaster of a listen.
Suddenly US begins where Suddenly Broken finished so if you haven't listened to that one then you need to STOP now. As with the previous book I was quickly drawn into the continuing story of Ainsley Decker and Mason Bradley.
There were moments where I wanted to scream out my frustration with the miss communication that occurred. However it was heart warming to witness the re connecting of Ainsley with her family after the heartache of the first book.
Both Emma and Tyler did justice to the emotional turmoil that impacted the characters and my heart broke for the pain and suffering that they went through. It was satisfying to watch Ainsley take back control of her life
I loved the friendship and bond that was between Ainsely and Mason, he was the one constant in her life and I loved how he was always there for her no matter what. However having said that I wanted to smack some sense into him when he left her high and dry but thankfully he saw the light.
A fitting conclusion to a great duet.

What an absolutely perfect conclusion to this story of two broken characters and packed with all the emotions. Mason and Ainsleys story feels like a story of kintsugi with the gold Pieces coming together to make something even more epic and beautiful. This book definitely pulled on all my feels and i hope to be able to read the story of the brothers soon.

What a great conclusion to an amazing duet! You don't want to miss out on this one! 5 stars!
This story picks right up where it left off in book one, Mason still doing his dangerous work, Ainsley trying to move forward with her life. She learns just how important it is to have her family close, and there for her when she needs them. Mason is still scared of a relationship after watching first hand his parents marriage mess.
Sit back and relax and enjoy the finale, you will not be disappointed! Again like Suddenly Broken, I didn't want to put it down! Enjoy!

I absolutely loved Suddenly Us by Claudia Burgoa; the second book in her Unexpected Everlasting Duet, it is an incredible best friends-to-lovers love story. Claudia Burgoa continues to provide readers with incredible love stories filled with amazing characters. She continues to prove that she is an amazing storyteller. I love all the characters in Suddenly Us, they feel like family! Suddenly Us filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, I could not put it down, and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Suddenly Us is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. It is filled with all those things that I have come to love and expect in Claudia Burgoa love story, and she did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Suddenly Us is a love story between best friends Mason Bradley, owner of HIB Securities – High Intelligence Bradley Securities and Ainsley Decker, teacher and owner of a music school. I loved how the book spans the years of their relationship, and you could see the further growth in Mason, Ainsley and her brothers Jacob and Matthew. Ainsley and Mason meet as children, when Mason would stay at her home while his father was on a mission. Mason has always been Ainsley’s go-to guy, but Mason did not pursue Ainsley because of his career and age difference. Ainsley asked Mason for help with dating and finding Mr. Right, and he agreed to help her. As Mason and Ainsley continue their dating training, they realize that there is something more between them that they are both willing to explore. Between missions Mason spends time with Ainsley and they begin a romantic relationship. Mason is not sure he wants marriage, children and the happily ever after that he knows Ainsley is looking for. Mason’s parents divorced when he was a child, and their bitter animosity is something that Mason does not want to experience firsthand. Mason’s mother comes for a surprise visit, which causes an unexpected plot twist to occur that threatens the relationship between Mason and Ainsley. Make sure you have a box of Kleenex nearby. I love how Ainsley’s family helps Mason resolve the plot twist. I love the reconcilement between Ainsley’s parents and how their marriage was stronger than before. I love Mason’s nickname for Ainsley and how the nickname originated and I love Ainsley’s nickname for Mason. I love how Mason’s job impact Ainsley and her parents’ lives because of their relationship with Porter Kendrick. love when both Mason and Ainsley get real with their true feelings for one another and open up to each other in an emotionally charged, gut wrenching dialogue that transpires between the two of them. I love how Ainsley shares things with Mason that she has never shared before, especially when Ainsley tells his how she feels responsible for the distance between her and her parents, and how Mason shares some of what he does with Ainsley. I love all the things that Mason does to be with Ainsley when she needs him. I love the letter that Mason wrote when he was six years old. I also love how the epilogue went above and beyond a happily ever after, and the changes that Mason made to have a life with Ainsley. I was so happy that Ainsley and Mason finally got their happily ever after. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Suddenly Us, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between Decker siblings and with Mason especially their teasing that made me laugh. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Suddenly Us, who does not love a friends-to-lovers love story? I loved reading the conclusion of Mason and Ainsley’s love story. Highly recommend this incredible love story.

More “Unexpected Everlasting” Greatness! Fantastic Story & Narration🎧

Suddenly Us
Unexpected Everlasting Duet #2
By: Claudia Burgoa
Narrated by: Tyler Tetsuda, Emma Wilder

This second part of the “Unexpected Everlasting” duet is just as amazing as the first part, “Suddenly Broken, where Claudia Burgoa took not only her characters on an emotional rollercoaster ride but she brought her readers along for the ride. My heart ached after that book and I was looking forward to where she took Ainsley Decker and Mason Bradley’s story in this second part, and she does not disappoint. This book picks up soon after where the first one ended and the Decker family is in a better place, starting with Chris and Gabe, who are working things out. Ainsley is doing much better too, her parents finally see her and her relationship with her brothers couldn’t be better. She is getting ready to move on with her life and put all her heartbreaks and mistakes behind her, especially Porter. She and Mason’s friendship is stronger than ever and he continues to secretly crush on her, but still thinks he is not good enough for her. Then it all changes, she wants to date, and he steps up to show her how and it all falls in place for them, until Mason freaks out because it got to real. He may have not only ruined what they had, but their friendship too. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a beautifully written and plotted story with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and a romance that was years in the making and meant to be. So many great things happen in this book, including finding out what Mason really does, a twist and great wrap up to Porter’s storyline. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧 📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Tyler Tetsuda and Emmer Wilder continue to deliver an outstanding performance, and doing an amazing job of bringing these characters and their story to life. They have been consistent with their portrayal of the characters and their voices throughout the duet. The quality of the audio and their performances have been top-notch. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance and have you feeling every single one. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Omg, what a thrilling, emotional and sexy conclusion to Ainsley (AJ) and Mason's story! AJ has worked hard to heal, become stronger and more confident. Her relationship with her family is stronger as well. Now it's time to move on from the man who took advantage of her. AJ has always been able to count on Mason. He has been there for her when she needed him most, and now she asks him to teach her how to date and how to be intimate. Mason is stunned but jumps at the chance to be closer to the woman he has always cared for but didn't feel worthy of. They start dating, taking it slow, and enjoying their deeper connection. Mason isn't afraid of the warnings from her dad's or her brothers, because he cares for AJ too much. He has never wanted to stay in one place too long, and craves the excitement of his secret missions. When Porter comes back, Mason will do whatever it takes to protect AJ. But when his heart becomes too invested, and he becomes distracted, it scares him that he might end up like his parents, so he panics. Will he be able to let AJ move on, or will he find the strength to fight for the only woman who gives him her unconditional love and the home he has always wanted? My heart hurt so much for AJ and Mason as they fought so hard to be whole and worthy of love. The many twists and turns their gripping story took had me totally captivated, and turning the pages, trying to find out what will happen next! I am so in awe of AJ and how strong, brave, and resilient she is. I loved how this story unfolded and the way things came together. I especially loved the epilogue, bringing me to tears. I also loved having more of AJ's brothers, Jacob and Matt and can't wait for their stories next.
Tyler Tetsuda, and Emma Wilder continue their wonderful narration of this story. They express these characters and their struggles so intimately, making me care for them even more, and making it even more breathtaking and exciting. This is the perfect conclusion to this thrilling, emotional and sizzling love story!

Suddenly Us
Unexpected Everlasting, Book 2
By: Claudia Burgoa
Narrated by: Tyler Tetsuda, Emma Wilder

This emotional journey is so good! I loved book one, and couldn't wait to hear the conclusion of Ainsley and Mason's story. This book picks up where we left off, with mending relationships and hearts beginning to open up. Ainsley is on solid ground with her dads and her brothers and is ready to begin to give her heart. Mason has been in love with Ainsley forever, and though his job takes him away, he has agreed to give her dating lessons. But will it lead to a real relationship? And will Ainsley's family approve? And we can't discount Porter just yet. Claudia Burgoa had me wondering for a while. Mason is so warm and fuzzy until he's not. So frustrating. Porter is not done yet, and what he brings is pain and so much suspense! I felt for Ainsley, as her heart is fragile. I loved the way things all turned out and that thread of suspense was perfect. It's an amazing duet, and is one that can be enjoyed by all.

The narration is concluded by Emma Wilder and Tyler Tetsuda. This team knows these characters and how to make the listener feel. I was emotionally involved in the outcome of the story all from their performance, the kind I love and enjoy.

Claudia Burgoa has given her fans another great love story. Mason and Ainsley both grow in this book. Ainsley moves past what Porter did to her and stands up to him and removes him from her life. Mason finally faces his fears about loving someone and settling down. Mason grew more in the second book and had to make a big gesture to make up for running but he is lucky that Ainsley loves him.
I thoroughly enjoyed Mason and Ainsley’s story and learning how The Organization began. I also enjoyed seeing how Gabe & Chris’s relationship developed throughout the duet. I really enjoy how many characters in Claudia’s books overlap across series It always seems like spending time with old and new friends.
Another winner for Claudia Burgoa.

After reading the first book in this duet I thought I was ready for the rest of Mason and Ainsley's story. I WASN'T READY!!!!!! This book took me on an emotional roller coaster.

There is so much love in this book. But just like real life, this love isn't always pretty. Sometimes no matter how much you love someone someone gets scared, screws things up, and runs away. The important thing is realizing you messed up and fixing it.

I loved watching Mason and Ainsley's friendship develop into something so much more. I loved the example and guidance Chris and Gabe set for them. I loved pretty much everything about this book. I laughed, swooned, cried happy and sad tears. I wanted to kill Mason at least once. This is a must read for anyone who loves the Decker clan.

I had thought that Beacon and Grace were my favorite Claudia Burgoa couple, but Mason and Ainsley might have just taken that top spot.

Okay, I though I was frustrated and screaming at the characters in the first book …holy cow..I wanted to shake these two. Thank you, Claudia for continuing the pain in my heart. Lol

Mason…gah, dude get it together and stay…just stay.

Ainsley..just tell Mason what you want…don’t stay quiet, be brave.

Claudia continues the heartache while trying to bring these two together. Mason is so diligent, committed and at Ainsley’s side as soon as possible, when she needs him. But she always needs him and he won’t stay.

This is an incredible love story that spans several years, many heartbreaks, many celebrations and finally two people that sooooo belong together finally figuring it out.

I have read many of Claudia’s books…although this one will hurt…I think this duet is my favorite - it is so incredibly written and will touch on each and every one of your emotions.

The title of my last review was “angst and lots of emotion” but there’s honestly more angst in this one, if that even possible! And I’m not saying that like it’s a bad thing…but Mason and Ainsley put me through the wringer.
But at least now they are starting to see what others…the readers obviously, plus secondary characters…knew all along. You belong together! Communicate and work your crap out! Yup, that was probably verbatim me yelling at my ereader. But I’d rather do that then sit and placidly read a story and have emotions about it.
Because you absolutely cannot read a Claudia Burgoa book without feeling, and expressing, emotions. Others have (kiddingly?!) said she’s the queen of angst, and that’s probably a valid. But that’s one of the reasons I keep coming back for more. I want to feel my books, not just read them.
So, not going to tell you what happens, cuz I’m mean like that, lol. Seriously, I just want others to enjoy Mason and Ainsley’s journey themselves. Opinions may vary, but it’s a hell of a ride.

Suddenly Us is book two of The Unexpected Everlasting Duet and continues Mason and Ainsley's story and the conclusion to this duet. this book starts where Book 1 had a cliffhanger ending, you need to read both and in order.

This Book is just as emotional as book 1. Mason and Ainsley's path is still full of tears but they are learning how to move forward, with the support of each other and their families. There continue to be secrets but there is also love. These characters always had a strong connection but now they've released the chemistry anything can happen. Add a drugged up Ex and nosy parents adds more to the drama.

I love Author Claudia Y Burgoa books and these were no different.

I have always wanted to know Mason and Ainsley's story. Now I do and I couldn't be happier. This story was everything I needed and more. I have a better understanding for how deeply these two love each other (that letter 8 year old Mason wrote melted my heart). They definitely had a road to travel... especially Mason. But they eventually persevered. I love the glimpses of Jacob and Matthew that we get. I also love learning a bit more about Gabe and Chris. This was a true love story with so much depth and angst that I just couldn't put it down.

The #1 thing I loved most about this book was seeing Ainsley stronger, happier, and speaking up for herself. After book 1 is was much needed. I look forward to seeing more of these two in future books (can't wait to read Jacob and Matthew's stories!).

Suddenly Us is the 2nd book in the Unexpected Everlasting Duet and the author gave us a fantastic ending to Mason and Ainsley's story. This was a story of healing, moving forward and falling in love and I loved seeing the progression of Mason and Ainsley's relationship from friends to so much more. These two had such an undeniable bond and I was rooting for them throughout the story although it wasn't all smooth sailing as there were some bumps in the road. This book was just a heart wrenching, emotional and angsty as the first but here we also get light humor, romance and wonderful family dynamics. This well written conclusion was addictive and had me hooked until the end. I loved it and would highly recommend it to lovers of friends to lovers romance.

This book continued from where everything was left in the previous book. This duet is filled with angst and it was an emotional rollercoaster.

Mason and Ainsley's relationship changes and I was reading with batted breath. They had to overcome a lot to finally get their everlasting love. I was in love with the Decker family. It made me happy that Ainsley stood for herself after everything she went through.

Their story tugged at my heart strings and made me go through indescribable emotions.
It's a read that makes you feel content yet crave for more.

Suddenly Us is the final book in her Unexpected Everlasting Duet and when you thought Suddenly Broken was emotional and angst filled and couldn't get any better, fasten your seat belt for this ride. Hole Ainsley has a lot of baggage from trauma she has experienced she is dealing with it but Mason his struggling more. While being confident professionally, his feelings of not being worthy is painful to see. I loved howv these two overcome their issues and put each other first. It's a beautiful live story and Claudia makes their story so believable. I'm already looking for her next adventure!

I am so happy that Ainsley and Mason gets their HEA in this story. Ainsley has grown up and bit and is ready to date and Mason to the rescue to help teach her. This was such a great friends to lovers story and I love how caring Mason is. I enjoyed that we got to see more about Mason's background and what led him to be how he is.

There's still a lot of drama with Ainsley's old boyfriend and I enjoyed seeing her brothers and dads playing a positive role in this story.

As with book 1, Tyler Tetsuda and Emma Wilder did a great job with the narration.

Thank you @hambright.pr for a copy of the audiobook.

What a phenomenal ending to the Everlasting Duet! This book has all the angst and emotions of the first book, but this one centers on the relationship between Mason and Ainsley. After Mason has had a taste of Ainsley with the kiss at the end of the first book, he knows that will never be enough, but he also knows that he has never wanted to put down roots. Before he knows it, six months have passed and a series of events take place that make Mason query his relationship with Ainsley and scare him into making the rashest decision he has ever made. As he realizes the grave mistake he has made, he also knows that he must do something huge to win Ainsley back, but he must also get back on the good side of Ainsley's brothers and parents who may never forgive him for the hurt he has caused.
This conclusion to Mason and Ainsley's story makes my heart happy.

No one does angst better than Claudia Burgoa!

This is the second book in the duet about Mason Bradley and Ainsley Decker. The things that these 2 go through (many brought on by themselves) in order to finally find their way to HEA would be enough to make anyone throw in the towel. But they are strong and they persevere and they find the best love story and happy ending that they can!

I so enjoyed reading this story and getting more background in to so many characters that I've already seen in Ms. Burgoa's books.

Having read Suddenly Broken I instantly started looking forward to more! I didn't know what all was going to happen next in this story. I picked up this second installment and got right back into the Unexpected Everlasting world. I so enjoyed this second book and this duet!

Mason and Ainsley's journey continues! Once again, these two and their story pulled me in! I didn't know what all was going to happen this time around and that got me into this installment even more so!

I was so glad to get more of Mason and Ainsley. I really liked getting to see these two tackle things and how it wasn't easy which brought even more to the realness of their journey. These two had me feeling so dang much from beginning of book one to the end of book two! I didn't know how everything was going to go which i enjoyed!

With Suddenly Us, Ms.Burgoa has created such a good continuation that brought the emotions! This duet had me feeling so many things and i loved that. I can't wait for more from this author!

Ainsley and Mason have been best friends for many years. Ainsley is a strong woman but doesn’t have a lot of experiences with the opposite sex. One night she asks for a favor from Mason but will he do it? Ainsley and Mason are both attracted to each other but will either of them act on it?

A GILDED CAGE

To say that this book was great is an understatement‼️This second and last of this duet left me amazed. It was a total emotional rollercoaster I cried I laughed. I crossed my fingers, had few scares (coffee shop ) all worth it‼️ this was another one that I would not put down I finished in one sitting. I hope to see cameos of these characters in other books, Ms. Burgoa, you never seize to amaze me. I almost swore Lang came by. Hahaha

Suddenly Us is the second book in this duet. I was worried these two were never going to find their happy ending! Mason and Ainsley have been best friends for years. They experienced so many ups and downs with each other and now they are trying to navigate a relationship. I absolutely love these two together. They are just perfect for each other! Their story is a bit of a slow burn with lots of angst, steamy moments, love and self discovery. Great duet!!
