Chances Inlet #4

It Had to be You

Rate this book
It’s hard to keep a big secret in a small town . . .

Paige Hollister’s life takes an unexpected turn when she discovers her “Mr. Right” already has a “Mrs. Right.” As if that wasn’t enough, she suddenly finds herself labeled the other woman and out of a teaching job. Swearing off men forever, she does what every unemployed woman staring thirty in the face does: She heads to the beach. Bad luck like hers is hard to outrun, however. During the road trip, her car breaks down in a small town chock full of meddling, nosy residents. The worst of them being the local sheriff—none other than her estranged father.

Tanner Gillette is finally on top of the golf world, poised to show everyone he’s not just an entitled playboy coasting through life on his pedigree. His world is turned upside down when a little girl shows up alone on his doorstep with a birth certificate inexplicably bearing his name. Solving the mystery of the child’s missing mother is complicated by the fact the little girl isn’t talking. When the stress of sudden guardianship gives Tanner a bad case of the yips, he’s forced to enlist the aid of the one person in town who can’t wait to leave.

What neither of them counts on is the off-the-charts chemistry threatening to derail their attempts to recapture their carefully planned solo lives.

Tracy Solheim writes books with shirtless men on the cover. Some of them are actually best-sellers. The books, not the men. When she's not writing, she's practicing her curling. . . bottles of wine, that is. She's been known to cook dinner but no more than two nights in a row. Most days, she'd rather be reading, which to her is just necessary research. She lives in the suburbs of Atlanta with her husband and a neurotic Labrador retriever. Her two adult children visit but not often enough. (See the note above about cooking.) Sign up for her newsletter at https://www.tracysolheim.com/ to see what she’s up to. She'll send you a free cookbook from her Chances Inlet series as a thank you!

t Had To Be You is the 4th book in the Chances Inlet series by Tracy Solheim. This was the first book I've read in the series and I absolutely loved it! I fell in love with Chances Inlet and the characters that live there. It Had To Be You is such a special book that it will have you wanting to find a place like Chances Inlet. Paige Hollister was dating a man who lied to her for months and it turned out he was married with children. Paige was employed at a private school at the time and they found out she was the "other" woman. Because of a morals clause in her contract, they fired her! Paige was heartbroken as she'd always wanted to be a teacher and loved her job! It was all so unfair!! She had no idea what a loser Jon was!

As Paige has some time off earlier than expected, she decides to head to Myrtle Beach where she can stay at a friend's condo while they're out of town. Paige believes the beach will fix her. As she's driving to Myrtle Beach her car breaks down in a town called Chances Inlet. Paige is in a panic because this is the last place she wants to be! Her father who she barely knows lives here with his new family! He's also the sheriff in town and everyone knows him. A woman comes over to Paige and tells her she can call the local mechanic to tow and fix her car if she'd like. Paige says no as she has AAA and is low on money to pay the mechanic. Things aren't going as planned for Paige.

Tanner Gillette is the number one golfer on tour, but his life got turned upside down when a woman dropped a young girl on his doorstep. She had a birth certificate with her that had Tanner's name on it as the father! Tanner has a reputation as a bit of a playboy, but he has no idea who this woman is. She left and said she'd be back when she was better! The girl's name is Whitney and she hasn't spoken since being dropped on his doorstep. Tanner can't believe what is happening in his life and develops a bad case of the yips. Every time he tries to make a putt, his hands shake, and he can't do it! He has to find a way to relieve the stress he's feeling or his career might be over!

Paige finds Whitney by herself crying in the park. Paige thinks she's lost and asks the girl if she is? The girl nods yes. Paige comforts the girl and tells her they'll find her mother. Paige decides to take her to get ice cream, but ends up at the sheriff's station instead. Paige runs into her Dad there and he is so happy to see her. He thinks she came to visit him. As Paige is telling a deputy about finding Whitney in the park, Tanner and his caddy come in to report her missing. They are relieved when Whitney is sitting there unharmed. Tanner had left her with his caddy while he got a haircut. The caddy lost track of her and Whitney ended up in the park crying because she misses her mom. As Tanner goes to Whitney, she runs to Paige and hugs her leg.

Tanner notices that Whitney really likes Paige and since she's in town for a week waiting on her car to be fixed, he offers her a job as a nanny. Paige likes Whitney and needs the money to pay for her car, so she takes the job. She has no idea that Tanner is a famous golfer. Tanner has a huge home and tells Paige there's plenty of space for her to stay there. They arrange for Paige to move in the next day. Tanner explains to Paige that Whitney hasn't spoken in the time she's been with him. Paige doesn't realize how Whitney came to live with Tanner, but she will. Paige has been staying at her stepmother's inn and she's excited to get out of there so she won't run into her Dad and his new family so often.

There is a definite spark between Tanner and Paige. Every time they touch each other in passing it's like electricity lights them up. They both feel it, but try to ignore it, and keep things professional. Tanner has to get rid of the yips and he's hoping a nanny will take some stress away so he can focus more on his golf. Paige has huge trust issues from her relationship with Jon that was nothing but lies and because she grew up without her father who wanted nothing to do with her or so she thinks. Will Tanner and Paige find a way to trust each other and give in to the chemistry they have? Will Whitney find her voice and talk again? Will Whitney's mom come back for her? Where is Whitney's mom and what led her to leave her? Will Paige find a way to have a relationship with her father and his new family?

It Had to Be You is a book that will make you feel every emotion as you read. Everyone will be able to relate to the storyline and find something that moves them. I loved this book and look forward to reading more from Tracy Solheim. I rate the book 5 stars and give it my highest recommendation. The book is now available to purchase so what are you waiting for? Let the town of Chances Inlet take you away for awhile! I'd like to thank NetGalley and Sun Home Productions for an advanced copy in exchange for a fair review. #ItHadtoBeYou

I’ve chatted with Tracy for years about life and writing, but this is the first time I’ve read her books. I must say, this book was every bit as warm and witty as Tracy is in real life. I’m looking forward to reading the entire series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The chemistry between the two main characters was sizzling but it as their kind hearts that really drew me in. Their interactions with Whitney were so perfect I was unsure if I wanted her mom to pop back up.

I think the author also nailed the kindergarten teacher personality in Paige in both her interactions with Whitney and story time at the book store.

Last, I loved getting to revisit the characters from previous books. This is definitely a standalone book but if you haven’t read the previous books in the series, definitely go back and give them a read.

It Had to be You by Tracy Solheim, book three in her Chances Inlet series, is a wonderful, heart-warming romance filled with the magic of the small North Carolina town that gives second chances. Paige Hollister thought her life was going well, she had a good job teaching kindergarten and a great man in her life. But all of that comes crashing down by an act of omission from her former boyfriend that cost her a job she loved, her reputation and a life she enjoyed in Chicago. With nothing going right she needed to escape and headed to her step-brother’s condo in North Carolina. Instead she ended up being stuck in the last place she thought she would be, Chances Inlet. The town where her father, the one she never knew and the local sheriff, lived with his new wife and family. Tanner Gillette is an Australian pedigree golf player, at the top of his game, and has the reputation of being a playboy whose life was also turned upside down when a little girl, Whitney, who isn’t speaking, shows up on his doorstep, with his name listed as the father, and the mother is missing; a woman Tanner never met. Paige and Tanner had met before, on New Year’s Eve and shared a connection, but Paige left, returning to Chicago, before anything could happen. Tanner never forgot her or how she made him feel, using that knowledge to convince Paige to be his live-in nanny; helping Whitney, adjust to her new surroundings. Tanner was determined to woo Paige, pulling out all the stops. With both of them having trust issues, it is going to take hard work in before they will trust their instincts and follow their hearts.

There was a second story running through this one, as Paige & her father sheriff Lamar get to know one another after not seeing each other for over twenty years and being welcomed and accepted into his new family.

I can’t find enough words to say how great Tanner’s and Paige’s story was. Throw in the story of Whitney, who you will love immediately, and you have a definite winner. This story has a few twists and turns you definitely won’t be expecting. The best part is getting a story that includes the McAlister’s as well as many others from Chances Inlet. Ms. Solheim gave her characters numerous layers; add in a small town, kids and dogs and you have a wonderful story that you can’t stop reading. Plus, she leaves you wanting more stories of other characters. I highly recommend It Had to be You to other readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Hi Y’all! Come in and grab a banana nut muffin and a cold drink while I tell you about this book I just read.
The title is It Had to be You by Tracy Solheim it is book 4 in the Chances Ainsley series. You don’t have to read in order I had read none of the other books and followed just fine But I have to say I’ll be adding the snd the Milwaukee Growlers series both to my TbR list.
The cover is simple but the title made me curious. Then I read the blurb and it really got my interest because the line small town chock full of nosy residents… one being the Sheriff that just happens to be her father… yep that did it!

Who’s my favorite main character ? I’m not usually easily won over by female leads but Paige had me from the beginning. She is very relatable. Tanner is just the opposite. He’s a real butt at first, cocky, even a bit underhanded but I love a good antihero and he is salvageable. Then there is the little girl abandoned on his clubhouse door Whitney you just gotta love. I think Paige and I could be good friends!

The story is set in a small town with lots of cool characters most step relatives to Paige. I love a good small town romance . I would have loved to visit Chances Inlet because the people are friendly and all the guys seem to be eye candy .
The story is a sports romance and forced proximity… oh so good!
What surprised me most about the book was how attention grabbing it was. There is so much going on.
Were there significant plot twists and turns? Oh yes. So many. Let’s see. Paige has a secret she’s keeping from everyone plus relationships issues. Tanner has a secret that Alden the dr knows, but he has to keep. If he does it makes him look bad to his family and Paige but could hurt others if revealed…Were there any plot twists that you loved? As every twist is revealed I wanted more and more! Can’t say I disliked anything.
What did I like best? I loved all the characters and relationships.
Was there something I didn’t like? Nope.
This story made me feel happy though there are some tear moments even a quick tear at the end. But it’s such a feel good romance! A must read to any romance lover.

I loved the ending. It was a HEA and a slight hint another character might get a story. I sure hope so!
How hot was the book? It’s a slow burn at first then gets a little spicy. I’d say a good 3.
If you like summer flings, small town romance, cute kids, Sports romance, Golf, forced proximity, twins, a spicy romance with a happy ending you will love this.

It Had to be You by Tracy Solheim
Chances Inlet #4

Grumpy golfer versus protective teacher meet and fall in love in a small town that is known for providing second chances.

What I liked:
* Paige: teacher, daughter, raised by mother, estranged from her father, dealing with personal and professional issues, giving, caring, intelligent, good friend, insightful, trust issues, perfect with and for Tanner
* Tanner: professional golfer at top of his game, twin died in the past two years, surprised by Whitney on his doorstep, wealthy parents, checkered professional life, has trust issues, deeper than he first seems, perfect with and for Paige
* Whitney: 4-year-old, selectively mute, abandoned with Tanner by her mother, outgoing, graceful, has nightmares, sees Paige as a safe harbor, adds a lot to the story
* Sheriff Hollister: Paige’s father, married to Patricia McAlister, wants to get to know Paige better, ex-military, a man I’d want in my corner
* The McAlister family: previous three books starred various family members finding their HEA – did not read those stories but if I had, would have known the characters mentioned better, probably. Would love to join a family like theirs!
* Summer: Paige’s friend from Chicago, supportive, caring, kind
* Lou and Denise: owners of the children’s bookstore, committed loving couple
* That this was a story that drew me in, made me care, had characters I liked, and made me feel a part of the community – a community I would love to live in
* Wondering if Hayden and Elle will be up next in the series

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to
* Thinking about how easily a reputation can be ruined

Thank you to NetGalley and Sun Home Productions for the ARC – This is my honest review.

This was my first visit to Chances Inlet, and I fell in love with the town and the characters. So much is going on in this small town and who knew that Paige and Tanner who ‘met’ on New Year’s Eve would cross paths months later and change each other’s lives for the better. I loved the story and meeting everyone especially Paige’s father and his new family who bring her into the fold like she’s always been around even though she’s not really sure she wants to be part of their family, but Patricia treats her like her own daughter and when she finds out more information, she warms up to the idea of going all in. The other situation we have is Tanner who finds out he has a daughter but with the timing of her birthday and other things, comes to realize she might not be truly his and that starts to affect his professional golf game, which is his livelihood, and he ultimately develops the yips. Paige also has a secret she’s been hiding and when it comes out, she’s afraid everyone will hate her, especially Tanner who doesn’t like secrets. Everything ultimately comes to a head with not only Whitney’s mother coming back into the picture but finding out who Whitney’s father is, which was sad in and of itself. And then Summer and Luke show up and Paige’s secret gets blown wide open which was her greatest fear. I loved how the family stood behind Paige with their love and support and maybe a lawsuit and I also liked how everything ultimately turned out for Paige and Tanner. I always love it when we get an epilogue and this one was a perfect update. I most definitely need to check out the prior books in this series. Wonderful story!

When Paige Hollister finds herself labelled ‘the other woman’, having been fooled by her “Mr. Right” who was married, she decides to leave her teaching job and begin again in the town where her father, the local sheriff lives. Having left Paige and her mother when she was young, Paige is uncertain where she fits in with his new family. Upon arriving in town, Paige finds herself confronted with the young girl, Whitney, left on Tanner Gillette’s doorstep. On top of the golf world, Tanner is determined to show everyone that he has turned his life around. However, with the arrival of Whitney, he is uncertain of whether he can find her mother. As Tanner and Paige work together to care for Whitney, they must soon confront their feelings for each other and whether they can overcome factors set to undermine their relationship.
Not only are the characters of Tanner and Paige well developed, but many of the secondary characters gave great depth to this romance. It was so enjoyable to see how their romance progressed as the story behind their pasts is revealed. An enjoyable read.

Paige Hollister leaves Chicago and her teaching job at an elite private school disgraced after finding out her boyfriend is someone else's husband. On her way to spend time at the beach, she chooses the route that takes her through the small beachside town of Chances Inlet. She was there some months ago for the wedding of a father she hasn’t known in a very long time. Watching him with his new wife and her grown children, a ready-made family, left Paige felling on the periphery once again.

But it’s fine. Paige will spend some time in Myrtle Beach, get her head on straight, and make a plan for her future. Except her car decides the main street of Chances Inlet is the perfect place to break down. She not only sees her estranged father but gets roped in to becoming the Nanny for pro golfer Tanner Gillette's daughter who recently showed up on his doorstep.

Quaint small town, charming and quirky people, and found family are only a few elements of this phenomenal nanny romance. I loved this one so much immediately started reading the other books in the series. I just wasn’t ready to give up this fictional world. Sweet, humorous, steamy, and full of heart, this is the perfect next favorite read for small-town romance lovers everywhere!

Welcome back to Chances Inlet, a place I would love to visit! Too bad it’s the last place Paige Hollister wants to be, especially since it’s the home of her estranged father, his new wife, and a bunch of new stepsiblings. Unfortunately, fate has other ideas! Mix in a sweet little girl who isn’t speaking, a hot golfer Dad with the yips, and a small town full of well-intentioned characters, and you have a great story to immerse yourself in. The fact that her new stepmother and stepsiblings are the McAlisters from the previous Chances Inlet stories by Tracy Solheim makes it even better! I love that she writes characters that you would love to get to know, with real personalities and issues. The humor will keep you laughing, and the characters will touch your heart. I think Tanner, Paige, and Whitney may be my new favorite characters.
It was great to see the characters from the first three novels in the series, IT HAD TO BE YOU is the fourth book in the Chances Inlet series, but if you are starting with this one, you won’t be lost, but you will find yourself rushing to read the others!
Thanks to the author and publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the novel. All opinions are my own and freely given.

Paige has had bad luck in the romance department. She looses her job because of a romance and she leaves town to go to the beach. Her car breaks down in Chance Inlet, which is known for it's second chances at life. This is the town that her estranged dad lives in and his new family. She was there for his wedding at New Year's but skipped put before meeting the rest of the family. As she is skipping out she meets a man from Australia. This is Tanner, neither exchange a name at that time. Wit her car broken down she has to stay in the area. Her father is a Sheriff and she is hoping he doesn't finds out the real reason she in the area. Tanner meanwhile has a young girl dropped off for him to care for. She is traumatized and does not speak. Tanner is going out on the tour for golf tournaments and has no idea what to do with this girl. Is this his daughter? Who will take care of the girl while he is on tour? Where is the girl's mother? These questions and more will be answered when you read this highly recommended book. Ms. Solheim writes so your interest is from the beginning of the book until the end.

Paige and Tanner
Paige – She was doing the job she loved supposedly with a man who loved her. Then her world is shattered; what to do but run away.
Tanner – half of a whole. The bad boy to the Golden boy, everyone’s favorite. Family, everyone has their place and when the Golden Boy can’t speak for himself; you continue to take the reputation. Well, it is what is expected.
A chance meeting at a party; barely connected but you already know there is something there.
Time passes and they meet again under less-than-ideal circumstances. Both with stories they would rather not talk about; but will need one another to survive the small town they are in. Loved the banter and the quick thinking on their feet to help one another avoid having conversations they would rather not have. I laughed, I cried.
She won’t trust and He won’t share the secret. My favorite scene is him reading a romance novel and saying something about a specific section in the book. I loved how comfortable they came to be with one another; when they learned to see each other for who they are not what other people said about them.

Paige thought that her life was amazing. Great job, great boyfriend and then everything fell apart. With everything falling apart, she escapes and heads to her step-brother’s condo in North Carolina. But as her life is going, she get stuck in Chances Inlet, the town her father (estranged) lives with his new family. A family that she doesn’t know where she fits in. And then on top of it she gets ambushed to becoming the Nanny for a pro golfer, Tanner Gillette’s daughter who he just met when she showed up on her doorstep.

I don’t know what it was, but I just couldn’t get into this story. Im sorry, I can honestly say it had all the makings of my favorite tropes. A playboy who gets surprised by a little girl showing up on his doorstep unexpectedly, who was just adorable. Small town romance, which is my favorite. But like I said i just couldn't get into the story… But don’t let this put you off, go ahead and read this one, maybe I will try it again later, sorry ☹

Chances Inlet=2nd Chances for Everyone

Oh my gosh, I love this series! And the Growlers series and the Secret Service series and I just learned about the Blaze series. I was so worried about the Chances Inlet series ending but I don't think it will as long as all these other series (serieses?) tie in with this wonderful fictional town on the non fictional inter coastal waterways on my home state of NC. All of the books in this series are wonderful. These would make great beach reads.

These books follow the McAlister family and their friends, neighbors and love interests as they overcome past mistakes, erroneous ideas about themselves and others, and the promise of second chances (in love and life). The characters are multidimensional and interesting. The supporting animals are adorable. These books represent the best and (sometimes) challenging aspects of small town life. Prepare to binge read everything Tracy Solheim has ever written as soon as you open your first novel of hers. I promise.

Paige and Tanner get their chance at love!

Paige Hollister had some serious trust issues with guys after dating the uncle of one of her students and finding out that he was married and being fired from her teaching job. Paige had planned a break at the beach while she figured out what to do next but her plans changed when her car broke down in Chances Inlet, North Carolina where her dad was the sheriff.

Golfer Tanner Gillette was staying in Chances Inlet while he rehabbed his golf game but being left a daughter Whitney that he never knew about would change his entire life especially when he needs a nanny. Maybe Paige will help while she’s visiting Chances Inlet?

If you haven’t read any of Tracy Solheim’s books you need to start now because It Had to Be You has characters from her Out of Bounds Series, Chances Inlet Series and Milwaukee Growlers Football Series and the only decision is where to start reading!!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author and NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It Had to be You is the fourth book set within the Chances Inlet series, but the romance stands alone. Paige is trying to escape from her past when her car breaks down in her estranged father’s town. There, she quickly runs into Tanner with his own family drama, and she can’t help but want to help him and get closer to him. But is she willing to trust her heart in matters of family and love, or will she run at the first hint of pain?

This book was so good! I loved all of the emotions that were present, between the hurt of the past, interacting with family, feeling that hesitant blossom of love, and overcoming life’s hurdles, I was invested in this book from page one and loved every minute I spent reading! Paige was sweet and fierce, but was really lacking self confidence due to previous mistakes. Tanner was just doing his best to please everyone, to help keep reputations in place, while also living his life to the fullest. I really loved the team they made together, with his daughter, with leaning on each other, and with being together as a relationship. There is some family drama and issues that need to be dealt with, from both main characters, but it didn’t hinder from the relationship that formed. I really loved reading this book! Reconciliation and love and trust are three major themes found within these pages, and I look forward to reading more!

This is the fourth book in this incredible series, and this is Tanner and Paige’s story. Paige has sworn off men after the last one in her life has a wife and decides to head for the beach to regroup. In route Paige’s car breaks down and she finds out that the small towns sheriff is her estranged father. Tanner is a professional golf player, who has redeemed his playboy ways, and when he finds a little girl on his doorstep, with his name on her birth certificate, he knows he needs help, and convinces Paige to help him. This is a well written east to read story, with family, friendships, combustible and undeniable chemistry, trust, and love, which leads to an entertaining and addictive small-town romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Choosing the wrong man has not only turned Paige’s life upside down personally but professionally as well. The plan was to distance herself from the situation, but the plan didn’t include finding herself in Chances Inlet where her estranged father is the Sheriff or that she would find herself looking after the daughter that Tanner didn’t know he had.

Tanner is a professional golfer who is focused on improving his game so having Whitney, the daughter he knew nothing about, show up on his doorstep has left him reeling. He isn’t sure how to handle the situation but maybe Paige’s arrival wasn’t chance but fate.

This is a heartwarming story about love and family as both Paige and Tanner are going through a challenging time in their life and find the support they need in each other and the town.

Tracy Solheim has done it again! Once more she provided another page turner of a book! I absolutely loved hearing the backstories of Paige and Tanner. And the way Chances Inlet is described in all her books set there it just makes you want to go there and partake in small town festivities and stay at the Tide Me Over Inn! You can read this as a stand alone book, but, I highly recommend reading all the books in this series as well as all of Tracy's books as I have done. I find all the characters in all her books to be very intriguing and the best part is always getting to know them all. And not only do you hear the backstories of Paige and Tanner you get to know the stories of the other characters in the book which I love. All I can say is go read this book!

This is the fourth book in the series and such a good one. Paige doesn't feel like part of her dad's new family, but she has no idea what a great bunch the McAlister clan is. When her car breaks down when she is passing through Chances Inlet her life will never be the same. Her heart along with the readers is going to get stolen by little Whitney. Tanner is a good guy, but he is a little rough around the edges. Though Whitney and Paige bring out a whole new side of him. I really love this small town. It makes me want to visit so bad. All the little shops especially the bookstore sound so fun! Paige felt like her world was imploding, but really it might just lead her to her forever. Chances Inlet has a way of worming it's way into your heart and make you want to stay.

Paige flees her home town, things went seriously wrong in her life when she trusted the wrong man. Car trouble has her in the little town where her dad is sheriff. He has a new life and she doesn't feel part of it.
Paige is such a wonderful character, she blossomed in this little town. Little Whitney brought out the carer in her. Tanner is a whole other story, I didn't like him at first but he grew on me.
This is a small town, slow burn, sports romance....so much going on I loved it.
A wonderful town, special characters...even though they can't mind their own business. It does take a village to help each other.
I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.

Paige's life is a hot mess, so what better than a vacation when you have no job? Paige stops in Chance Inlet and it’s like her car so we’re going no further. Tanner is in a weird place where he has a beautiful young girl Whitney thrust upon him, yet he is not the dad. Whitney bonds with Paige, who ends up becoming her nanny. The attraction between Paige and Tanner, it’s just under the surface with both trying to rehabilitate their image. I like that Tanner stepped up to be the dad with Whitney's needs and was there for Paige when she falls.  Solheim gives us the feels and emotions that only a chance Inlet novel can.  Love seeing past couples in the current life.

A story of a young woman, Paige who attended her dad’s wedding without him realising and her running into Tanner by pure accident.

When Paige accidentally breaks down in the same town, she runs into Tanner again. At the time, it’s due to a lost little girl.

Paige and Tanner have a sexual tension which is evident, but something is holding them back.

Finding out answers to both their issues is something that needs to be done, but it comes at a cost.

A great story that shows family is important.

An amazing addition to this Chances Inlet series. Tracey gives you everything you want for Paige and Tanner, plus more.

Tanner has finally gotten to where he wants to be professionally...however, personally, everything he knows is about to be turned upside down.

Paige's life has been through the wringer. She does what every almost 30-year-old does; she goes to the beach. Nothing helps with heartache and personal turmoil better than getting away. Though it does not go quite as planned.

Circumstances bring Paige and Tanner together, and they BOTH have to work to overcome their trust issues and see what they have together is worth working for. Their chemistry is HOT!

I loved the reappearance of past characters and new faces. Small-town life at its finest. If you have not read any of the stories in this series, I highly recommend you get started. You will love them all, along with all the other books Tracy has written.

Love visiting Chance Inlet and this was no exception. A heartfelt romance of Tanner and Paige and Whitney just pulled at my heartstrings. Tanner and Paige with past secrets that they both need to overcome.

Paige's dad happens to be the sheriff of Chance Inlet with his new wife and family, thoroughly enjoyed the reconciliation of their relationship and how Paige was accepted into their family.

This is a stand alone story but we are reacquainted with previous friends. I highly recommend this book.

This was one of my favorites this month! I read about a book a day, and feel like I’ve seen it all, but this story had some unique plot lines! The main characters were very relatable, and the side characters REALLY added to the story! Every time a new character/couple was introduced, I wondered if they had their own book! The “last minute conflict” in this story was very believable, and what I REALLY liked about it is that it didn’t drag on! Because the characters COMMUNICATED, like real, live humans, ;) they resolved the conflict very quickly and satisfactorily!!

Family and romance

Paige wasn't looking for love since was burned by her last boyfriend who turned out to be married and she lost her job over it. She goes to the town that her father lives in and meets Tanner the golf pro. She meets her father's wife's children and they all welcome her into the family. She helps Tanner with a little girl that was dropped off on his doorstep by a mother that claims is his child. Tanner learns about some secrets his brother kept and about himself. Very good storyline and romance.

Another great book by Solheim! This is the fourth book in the Chances Inlet series and was a great continuation of the series. Very well written, good story line and great romance.

This book follows Paige and Tanner and their love story. Tanner is an Australian pro golfer who has a home in Chances Inlet when he isn't on tour. His life is currently in utter chaos. His twin brother has died, a little girl has been left on his door step claiming he is the father and he has the "yips" which is causing his golf game to tank. The only good thing happening to him is that he met Paige. Paige's estranged father is the sheriff of Chance Inlet. When she is let go of her prestigious teaching job in Chicago for cause, she decides to take a vacation but ends up in Chances Inlet when her car breaks down on the way through. She doesn't want to meet her father's new family, trust a new man in her life (even if he is sexy as all get out) or make friends. But when the little girl (Whitney) needs help, Paige ends up getting sucked into everything that makes up a small town. When Paige's secret comes out, her first inclination is to run. But can she learn to trust again? And can Tanner convince her he is the man for her?

Definitely a great summer beach read. Good characters and good flow. Would definitely recommend.

This book is clearly part of a series, but you can read and enjoy it on its own.

Paige feels shamed. She also feels that her father wanted nothing to do with her. She's wrong to feel shamed and unwanted. She unknowingly was the other woman and gets fired from a job that she loved. On her way to a vacation, to lick her wounds, she takes a side trip to the town where her father works as sheriff. And then her car breaks down, right in the center of town. The town has meddling busy bodies and some really impressive residents.

Paige makes a discovery that will change the way she feels about herself, and sees pathways to redeem her shame. The people in her extended family and in town are welcoming and accepting.

This is a sexy story that has a lot of moving parts. I enjoyed it! It was my first book by the Tracy Solheim, but it won't be my last.
