Hello, demons! 🔥❤ TOUCH starts off with a bang and never lets up. A man has been brought into the emergency department where Rosalyn is a trainee nurse. It takes all the doctors available to hold him down, as if their very touch burns him. Rosalyn can’t forget her encounter with Rainer. This isn’t the first time she’s seen delusions, and the last thing she wants is to get sent away to a residential psychiatric facility again. But something is hunting Rosalyn, and Rainer and his brothers may be the only ones who can protect her.

The world building and action were fantastic. Set in a world where humans are unaware that vampires, shifters and demons walk in their midst, Rosalyn and Rainer are chased at every turn by the soulless, giving the book a wonderful “come with me if you want to live” vibe where their survival is at stake at every turn, and in the midst of that adrenaline rush, it’s hard not to fall in love. Plus, Rosalyn may be the key to finally ending Rainer’s curse, the one person who can touch him without causing pain. Deliciously steamy paranormal romance 🔥❤ with an urban fantasy story I can’t wait to pick up in book two!

'She was his and he belonged to her. Whether she accepted him or not, he already knew his fate.'

A beautiful slow burn romance in between two broken souls.

Demon Warrior Rayner - cursed and shying away from any touch because the slightest contact means immense pain and burning, blistering skin - has resigned himself to living a lonely existence. A mate is something he wouldn't even dream about until he finds himself in a human hospital, face to face with student nurse Rosalyn Manar. A beautiful and very human woman, with an unexpected and intriguing effect on Rayner. Her presence silences the voices in his head and she seems to know what Rayner really is. But that is not the reason Rayner seems reluctant to stay away from her. Rosalyn seems to trigger in him desires long forgotten and for the first time in his life, Rayner feels the pull of a fated mate.

Rosalyn is different. She has been different for as long as she can remember, seeing otherworldly creatures everywhere around her. With everyone telling her monsters don't exist and regular trips to the psychiatric hospital reinforcing the general belief that she's damaged and broken, Rosalyn learned to keep quiet and pretend she doesn't see them anymore.
Until the huge but incredibly handsome man is brought to her hospital one evening. A demon in terrible pain.

'There are no such things as monsters.' - that's what Rosalyn keeps telling herself while seeing to the patient. Unfortunately however, monsters really do exist, and Rosalyn becomes their target. And the only thing standing between them and her is a demon hellbent on keeping her safe.

Caught in the middle of a brewing war between terrifying creatures, Rosalyn must learn to trust Rayner and his demon warrior brothers. He is a demon she can't stop dreaming about, but how can she trust him when seeing creatures like him has had her labelled as 'crazy' before?
As for Rayner, he may have just found not only his fated mate, but also the one person who can touch him, without making him howl in pain. If he can keep her safe that is, and if she'll have him.

Great wordbuilding, fabulous action and wonderful characters that leap off the page. This book has it all, complete with a ton of feeling. The romance is wonderful, with love and longing enough to melt a heart. The plot is solid and tension nicely amped, the mystery is intriguing while the evil guys are just at the right level of creepy and it all ends in a promise of a lot more to come.
And yes! I admit I'm itching to get my hands on a sequel.

What I'll grumble a bit about, is that the pace dragged a little at times, while things seem to happen a bit too conveniently at others. That is also the reason I didn't rate it a full 5 stars. And yet, as I already said, I'm already looking forward to a sequel because, in the end, this was a damn fine PNR with all the feels!

So go ahead and give it a try!

Fab demonic story

I loved this story about human Roslyn and demon Rayner. Since she was a child, Rosalyn had seen things which were un-natural. She was eventually confined to a mental health facility when She was just 8 years old. In adult life, she became a student nurse and her life was happy. She had been working very long hours at the hospital and one evening a man was brought in with a severe stab wound. She gradually noticed that every time someone touched him, he screamed in pain and it looked like their touch was causing burns on his skin. She thought there was something odd about him but couldn't quite think what it was. Make way for an action-packed story of soul-sucking creature attacks and Demon defenders. 🔥read.

Simmering with heat

Every moment of this book has an undercurrent of heat and desire, slowly building up to the end. It's dark and dangerous and, suffice to say, I liked it. Raynar's POV is full of tortured longing that I am a total sucker for, and Rosayln makes a great MC with her combination of tenderness and determination. All in all, a fun, spicy read that will totally draw you in.

Seen or unseen?

Radner comes in to the hospital and Rosalyn realizes something is wrong. So begins a story of romance and action. I loved it!

After not being able to read/stick with a book for months I read this and loved it. The story completely absorbed me and was brilliant escapism.

Looking forward to reading more from this author!

Crummy grammar and typos everywhere (and no, I don’t just mean using British spellings like “learnt” and “organised”). Characters have no personality, and they don’t really act like you’d expect given the things happening to them. It’s the classic Alphahole + Glassy-Eyed Damsel pairing with no redeeming features. The plot… beyond dull and uninspired.

The MMC is a monster hunter and the monsters are getting smarter and are always one step ahead of the. There’s a dirtbag king who bosses them around and forbids all dissent and questioning. The FMC was in a fatal accident when she was three that made her weird and magical, and the boys lost one of their brothers mysteriously 20 years ago “in an accident” where “some humans” also perished and they never saw the body. Gee, I wonder if these things are related?

The whole schtick of this story is that the MMC has been deprived of touch for decades and finds out the FMC can touch him… great, except they don’t figure that out until ages after the meet-cute, they constantly get interrupted by the plot, and there are literally zero needy touch-starved MMC moments which would’ve made this thing cuter. Their relationship kinda progresses the same way it does in every PNR… one kiss, get interrupted, blah blah next thing you know they’re doing the horizontal tango aaaand scene. Epilogue time. You barely get to process the good feels about him being able to touch her before it’s over.

I received a copy of this book and this is my unbiased opinion on Elisha Bugg's "Demon Warriors Book 1: Touch"

I really liked the premise of the book, but it wasn't enough to read it in one sitting (or within a week) as it took me two years to finally finish it. Furthermore, it wasn't until the last half (about 70 or 80% of the story) did it keep my attention. The ending felt a little rushed and I was a little confused towards the end when it mentioned *spoiler alert* that Xander is half vampire. Maybe it's because I was reading it on and off that I missed some details, but the way it revealed that Xander was a vampire towards the end as if it was common knowledge to everyone threw me off guard. Like... what about Xander gave away the fact that he was a vampire? Even if Rosalyn could probably distinguish the different type of supernatural species now that she, herself, is a vampire... how does she know/or what made it obvious/apparent enough for her to make that observation? Overall, the plot is interesting but not enough to keep my attention for too long. Will I recommend this book? Yes. Will I read it again? No. But i'm somewhat interested in looking into Book

That being said I liked this story. I loved the slow burn of romance between Rosalyn and Rayner. I felt so sorry for Rosalyn and Rayner, with Rosalyn being told she was basically crazy for seeing demons and Rayner not being able to touch anyone without being in excruciating pain. The story, once I got into it was fast paced and I was wanting to know more the whole time. If you love paranormal romances with some demons in ( like I do😉) you'll definitely enjoy this.
Will definitely be reading the next book in the series :)

Great potential

Book started out with great potential but right away there were problems. SPOILERS: so Rose is a nurse but is referred to as a doctor multiple times . Really All the characters are wimps. I skimmed and skipped after chaper 7 and it didn't get better. This is my first read by this author, I'll give another series a try but if they're like this book then 2 starts is a gift. This book needed heavy editing.

Good Read

This book has a great plot line and is a good read. The author does go a bit more ... in depth ... into the thoughts and motivations of the characters than I typically like. I especially loved the world building in this book - even without all the answers yet! You can tell this is the start of a series, but thankfully doesn't end on a cliffhanger.
