A thrilling collection covering the gamut of fantasy literature all the way from grimdark through fairy tale to magical realism.
Not only is the breadth of coverage interesting, there is also an uncommon willingness to experiment with form. Some of the stories included are sensationalist flash fictions, others full blown literary novelettes.
One never likes every story in an anthology - if only because of the limitations of personal taste, but this is one of the very few examples I can think of where every entry had unquestionable mertit.
For me the standout was "You're about to see this colour everywhere" by Ally Wilkes, which reminded me of M. John Harrison at his best. I also particularly enjoyed the Gaimanesque "Death, collector of stories" by Archita Mittra, and the Anatolian delight "Thistle Esref" by Luke Frostick.
