Oh Man, That Cliffhanger!
Mia is just an ordinary, tall, slightly- nerdy girl in an ordinary world… that’s becoming less and less ordinary. Her roommate Caleb is turning into a dragon and her father’s enforcer Thac is a god. Plus, her best friend Scarlett is a Valkyrie. As Mia, Caleb and Thac try to come to terms with the changes and their new relationship, there are those holding secrets and plotting. As always, this story was gripping and steamy, but my favourite part was the little jokes made between the characters or as internal dialogues - they add levity and made me smile. A great story - but oh, that cliffhanger! - I need to know what comes next!

The only thing wrong with this book is the cliffhanger ending. Apparently, the story got away from Allyson and became a duet. Oh well, more goodness to read.
Mia is living along in her human life with her comic book store and her early morning classes where she teaches people to read when everything starts to unravel. First, she is accosted by a man who thinks she knows where his girlfriend?, wife?, sister? is hiding. Then, her bestie who now lives in Greece informs her that she has been made a Valkyrie. When Mia is skeptical, Scarlett suddenly pops in to prove it. This revelation is like crack to a woman who loves superhero comics. Next, she is offered the chance to be a Valkyrie herself. But Mia knows she is not Valkyrie material. Or girlfriend material. Or anything-else-cool material. She turns Kirby down and returns to her little shop and her platonic relationships with her hot renter and her mafia father's enforcer. But no one is who they seem, least of all her.
Not going to ruin it for you. Lots to untangle here and we won't get the yarn straightened out until the next book. I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

Another Norse Valkyrie adventure leading Mia, her hot sexy roommate Caleb Smith and crush Thac. The sizzle is on from Mia’s perspective reading about these two men and her shy but whist fully dream of having these two men in her life romantically. I love being in her head. It does go into Thac and Caleb’s head but having Mia’s thoughts make her real. I love that about this author, she brings these fictional characters to life. I cheer for the good and boo for the bad. I love that these two men become more and that Mia develops a bond with them - unintentionally. The self esteem issues and ‘fat girl’ sadness is real for any woman and to have our Mia suffer but get the TLC from these me is priceless. Morale of the story: we are all magic and only surround yourself with people who keep your magic alive. Love this and heading to Mia’s part 2 because cliffhanger! Hello! What? Oh yes she did!

This Norse mythology based fantasy has grown into a huge world and continues to keep me enthralled. I love Mia. She may be a big girl with some baggage from her childhood but she is also an independent woman running her own business. When magic is introduced to Mia everything changes. For the better? All of a sudden her friend Caleb is changing. And big bad sexy Thac, her dad’s friend is coming around more. While our trio have known each other for a bit, they have all been hiding or have had hidden from them parts of themselves. What is really going on in this world they didn’t know the half of? Don’t miss this intriguing adventure.

This is the 2nd book in the series that I have read in this Norse mythology based fantasy. This has grown into a huge world and I am enthralled. I love Mia,she has some baggage from her childhood and her father's business. She's an independent business woman running comic shop. When her friends introduce her to magic everything in Mia's life changes. All of a sudden her friend Caleb and Thac, her dad’s friend are changing. They have all been hiding parts of themselves from Mia. They didn’t know that magic exists? It's a cliffhanger ending. Don’t miss this adventure, I can't wait for the next book.

My jaw is completely unhinged at the end of this book. I wasn’t expecting any of that, and I don’t even know how to put into words what I experienced in a way that won’t ruin all the surprise revelations this book dealt out. I adored Mia. My heart broke for all the terrible things she had been taught to believe about her self-worth. I badly wanted to hug the stuffing out of her. And now, I can’t wait to see what the next book in her story will bring because I desperately want her to prove to all the doubters (even herself) just how awesome she is.

Excellent storyline and not just steam inched that extra point. Intrigue is a guessing game here. Yes Mia should end up as a Valkyrie but she declined the offer. Due to the major cliffhanger on the last page we're still guessing about a lot of deceptions etc. Are we going to have a HEA? Odin is still conniving. Easy and entertaining reading. Looking forward to the next book.

Yes, Mia, magic IS real. Ends on a cliffhanger…
When Mia’s BFF, Scarlett tells her she’s now a Valkyrie, and that magic is real, her revelation makes perfect sense to Mia. All her life Mia’s felt like an outsider, wanting to belong – to something, to someone. When she’s offered the gift to become a Valkyrie herself (and fulfill her super-hero wish), will she accept?
The story is well written with compelling characters – including some powerful gods from Norse mythology, and several characters from the author’s Valkyrie Legacy series. There’s plenty of drama, angst, mystery, and humour along with some steamy MFM encounters. I’m looking forward to the continuation of this tale, given all the twists I hadn’t anticipated.
