I write from the world around me, and the world around me is full of color.

Award-winning author EG Manetti has always enjoyed a vivid imagination and occasional scribbling. Her epic science fiction series, The Twelve Systems Chronicles, blends the intrigue and danger of space opera with the passion and social rigidity of historical romance.

The ten-volume series began in 2012, with The Cartel: The Apprentice, Volume 1, and completed in 2021 with Thorn Bearer: Thornraven, Volume 3. The series has received four Paranormal Guild Reviewers Choice Awards, seven InD’tale RONE (Reward for Novel Excellence) nominations with five volumes award finalist badges. Shield Bearer: Thornraven, Volume 2 received the 2021 RONE for Science Fiction.

Elemental Fire: The Hidden Realms #1, her first venture into fantasy, combines her favorite aspects of urban fantasy, paranormal romance, and action/adventure genres.

A former information technology project manager, EG resides in Florida with her beloved (often confounded) husband and their severely OCD Jack Russell Terrier. She writes as often as possible, cooks exceptionally, and gardens adequately.

The Twelve Systems Chronicles are epic science fiction romance that blends elements of space opera with the intrigue and suspense of a political thriller. “With characters that jump off the page, love that is forbidden yet unstoppable mixed with top-notch worlds and technology, sci-fi has never looked so good or become so addictive!” ~ InD'Tale Magazine, February 2018.

Great start to a new series.

EG Manetti proves again that she is wonderful at world building and character development. This fantasy series (Paranormal Romance if you prefer) showed great potential for further development. Action packed, intelligent fun and sexy main characters with a plethora of secondary and tertiary characters just waiting for a spotlight and more back story. Hoping book two publishes soon.

You know when you see a book pop up on social media that immediately grabs your attention, so you click on it to find out more- and the blurb ticks all your boxes and then some- but it’s from an author you are unfamiliar with, but you decide that doesn’t matter because you absolutely need to read it anyway?? Well, that’s what it was like for me, stumbling over this book, and then excitedly snatching up a copy to read because the promise held in the synopsis hinted at great things. And I am so glad that I did, because I LOVED this book so hard, and it really sets the bar quite high, especially since this is the beginning of a series with more riveting instalments to come. #colourmeexcited #newaddiction #shehadmeatfireelemental #unputdownable
Elemental Fire is the first book in The Hidden Realms series by E.G. Manetti, who proved to be quite a skilled storyteller. I was hooked right from the beginning and ended up devouring the book in one sitting because I couldn’t, and wouldn’t, put it down. I became completely lost in the story, in the best possible way….
This is a superb paranormal romance with different realms, magic, danger, action, adventure, mystery, suspense, intrigue, tension, chemistry, sizzle, agendas, twists, surprising developments, numerous mythical beings, and so much more.
Ms. Manetti has masterfully woven a complex and vividly detailed world in which to set her story. As well as crafting wonderfully unique characters with their own fully developed personalities, who helped to bring her story to life. I loved Sin and Rad- they were just to perfect, and absolutely captivating. I was invested in them and their story right from their introduction, needing to know every minute detail. Their chemistry was electrifying, steaming up the screen of my Kindle, and sizzling the edges. The sparks were flying right from the get-go, and it didn’t take long for those hot embers to spark into white hot flames. But the sizzle didn’t come at the expense of the storyline, because there was plenty of action, danger, and intrigue to make this book something you can really sink your teeth into.
I have to confess that I now have a new addiction, but it’s one I am only too happy to feed. I CAN. NOT. WAIT. for Book #2 to release!!! But, in the meantime I have discovered that Ms. Manetti has quite a few other books that I can devour- so I am off to explore ‘The Twelve Systems Chronicles’ while I wait for the next instalment of this series to release.
I highly recommend “Elemental Fire”!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, E.G. Manetti!

Absolutely LOVE this author! Her Twelve Systems Chronicles series (Sci-Fi) is at the very top of my all-time favorites list, so I was super excited to see what she would come up with venturing into the paranormal genre. And, of course, I wasn’t disappointed. Ms. Manetti’s signature intelligent and tightly written stories absolutely shines in this book. Maybe that’s because so, so many paranormal stories focus mainly on the overall plot, and don’t often worry much about all those small ins-and-outs that make truly great writing. This book keeps the overall writing standard high, while telling a can’t-put-down story.

So why round down to 4 stars instead of up? Only because I know future books in this series will continue to improve the experience so I’m leaving it open for even more awesomeness.

Oh, and this review has NOTHING to do with that amazing shout-out at the first. I honestly had no idea and was just as shocked and surprised as anyone. (Hey, if I would have tempered that in, it would have received a 10 our of 5 stars! ;)

A favorite passage.

****

One thing about the Hidden, when they are on a tour, they don’t skimp on the accommodations. The inn is more like a first-class hotel with good-sized rooms, hardwood floors, and even a gas fireplace.

Rad turns on the fire and drops into an armchair, while I stow the Ruger. I motion to the minibar.

“Can I get you something?”

“In minute. I need to contact an operative.”

“Should I go down to the lobby?”

He holds out his hand. “Stay. This should not take long.”

I fold into the chair next to his and he releases my hand. In the next breath, the white-gold sparkling ball that I saw at my place is dancing before Rad. Rad’s rough baritone rumbles with unfamiliar sounds. The little ball crackles and something shifts inside. I pull sunglasses from my bag to cut the glare and find that the something looks like a lizard. With wings.

Rad’s fingers glow until the tips ignite like Fourth of July sparklers. He flicks his fingers and the sparkles stream into the mini-dragon. Its sparkling ball grows and turns a deep orange. With a gentle snap, it disappears.

I sit there stunned until Rad reaches over to remove my sunglasses.

“Mini-dragons? And what was that with the sparkles?”

His fingers glide along my throat, leaving a trail of fizzing tingles. He rises to raid the minibar. “Scotch?”

The goblins won’t need me until noon. “Cognac, if it’s there.”

He returns with two glasses. From the color of the liquid in his, he went for scotch. “That was a salamander. It’s a messenger.”

“With wings. Those Renaissance dudes missed the wings.”

He huffs. “They missed a lot.”

“What was with the sparkles? Some type of fire magic?”

He rubs his chin. “Some type.”

“Are you figuring out what you’re permitted to tell me?”

He closes his eyes. “I know what is permitted. I am simply marshalling my thoughts.”

Worth the wait!

I was waiting with much nervous anticipation for this book and it did not disappoint! Manetti's Cartel series is in my top five favorite series of all time and I was excited for this book but nervous that it could never live up to her previous works. However this series starter was so different that I never even compared the two series. Instead I found myself sitting back and enjoying the wonderful storytelling, the riveting action, and steamy bedroom scenes. Cannot wait for book 2!

Started good for me but then fell flat. Wasn't really getting the heist vibes I was looking for and there is a lot of detail I feel could have been left out because the story seemed to have no real direction as far any type of plot development went.

This was a whirlwind romance with a compelling story!!! Immersive. Steamy. Action Oriented. It definitely gave me Maas-esque vibes! I really loved the world-building and the antagonization of the human realm and the Hidden realms. It created a realistic story about how bureaucratic issues make certain actions slower than they wish they could be dealt with. Rad's and Sin's story is a little fast in the beginning but it all makes sense when you get to the end! My favorite female characters are always the strong ones and Sin is no different! She doesn't care if the job is tough and gritty it would look almost pleasurable to some of the things that she has dealt with in her small town in Massachusetts. She is an independent woman that doesn't need help BUT isn't hesitant to ask for it when it is needed. She has this amazing ability that allows her to see through glamour and see the world of the Hidden creatures as they really are. This is what spurred her curiosity about Rad and his connection to her friend. The rest is the journey you have to discover for yourself! This was my first novel by this author and I'm looking forward to delving into her other novels!!!!

This was an excellent fantasy romance thriller. I liked the main characters and how the secondary people and creatures were introduced carefully. The world building was gradual without data dumps, but I never felt lost or that something irrational was happening. The romance was tinged with magic, but not driven by it. The guy was alpha, but not domineering, and the gal was strong and independent, with just the right amount of attitude. There was exciting action and horrific situations, plus some spicy sex scenes.

Sidebar for those who have read EGs other books. I applaud her way with voices; everyone was unique, and I never felt the Cartel leaking in. Also, this story adheres to the fantasy and romance tropes without being constrained by them. The 12 Systems series charted its own path, but this story fits the genre really well.

There is no epilogue to hint which way this series will go, either with new couples, or continuing Sin and Rad's story. Either way, I'll be reading it.

I really like finding new authors. This book was just up my alley. I really enjoy a supernatural romance. The characters really had an explosive chemistry and the author really does a good job balancing the drama and romance. I liked how this book flowed it was really gripping and I could not put it down. I like the variable realms as well. I really thought that the characters were well written. I will definitely be reading more from this author and this series. I cannot wait for the next one!

First book of a brand new series by one of my favorite authors. Of course I am going to read , that's like a no-brainer. As expected she nailed it , this book was entertaining from beginning to end. A super plus is no cliff-hanger ending.
The setting is mostly in Boston/ Norther US where we have humans and Terrans and Hidden. Terran are humans with Hidden ancestry and Hidden are all manners of beings (thinks Elves, Goblins etc). These Hidden all live in their own realms, earth (Terra) being just another realm. Terra is separated from these other realms by the Veil. The Hidden are governed by their own lords etc, but there is global council made up of the most powerful of their species and it presided over by a queen named Lady Kogo who is a kitsune. Sometime in the past a treaty (the Veil treaty) was constructed when the Hidden made themselves known to human politics. Of course prior to the treaty they also crossed into earth, hence the various mythologies.

Our FMC is named Sin and is a private investigator with the ability to see through glamour. Previously Sin worked 5 years for the Human Law Enforcement Agency responsible for apprehending Hidden "criminals" or those that transgress the treaty conditions/laws. At a party of her best friend she notices Raz our male MC and get introduced. They have an immediate attraction.
During the conversation she mentions just having taken down an ancient artifact thief and thats where the fun and games of this story really kick off.

As I said expertly written full of suspense the book takes twists and turn adventure after adventure that appear to be all linked to a wonderful conclusion. I highly recommend this book and in general anything this author writes.

Sin is a human who works as a freelancer. She does a bit of everything from stopping an art thief to rescuing a kidnapped child. She works for both humans and supernatural beings called the Hidden. After what seemed like an open shut case, she meets a man named Rad. Being able to see through glamour, Sin realizes that Rad is not human but a fire demon of some sort. She finds out from him that her art thief case isn’t so black and white like she first thought. The thief was trying to recover items that actually belonged to the Hidden.

Rad is a warden for the Hidden, but is really intrigued by Sin. He doesn’t normally start anything romantic with humans but they can’t help that the chemistry between them is strong. He introduces her to the supernatural world and realizes that he willingly put her in danger. Together the couple try to stop smuggled goods from entering the Hidden world. Let’s not forget the steamy down time they have together too.

At first, the book starts off like any other Fae book but then takes a very interesting turn. It was very intriguing and I found myself falling in love with both Sin and Rad. This book is a must!

This is a wonderfully creative story and a great discovery of an author that is new to me. I was pulled straight into this book with such imaginative word-building and character development. It had me hooked before I was at the end of the first chapter. I was intrigued but the world the author had designed and wanted to know more about it.
I loved the characters as well. There were some strong personalities and I loved the depth they added to the story. You could clearly see development throughout the book and it made me want to read more. I am excited to have discovered a new series and a new author.

Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms Book 1) by E.G. Manetti
5 Stars

I found another author to add to my favourites list. This is the first book that I have read from this author and it surpassed my expectations. I’m so happy that I found it. There was action, danger, adventure and romance. There was the added mystery of trying to slice a crime as well. There was magic and plenty of supernatural beings. They were not your run of the mill werewolves and vampires variety either which made it all the more interesting. I love that the author unfolded the story slowly. It constantly held my attention wanting to know more. I adored Sin and Rad together. Their chemistry was tangible and their connection was real. I loved Sin! She was down to earth, smart and sassy. When her powers awakened, she handled it well. Her not being able to control it, made the story realistic. She is going to become a powerhouse. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

A fantastic start to what could be another epic series. Award-winning author EG Manetti is a new author to me and I have to wonder why I have not come across her work before.

EG has woven many threads in a complex and rich world with interesting and yet complex characters with depth and flaws, and in this new series. Her words come alive and makes this unique paranormal tale easily imagined. As a reader I was drawn to this intriguing and well-crafted world and could not put it down.

Sin can see things others can’t and her talents are in high demand but her last case has left her questioning everything she knows.

Radzik thought he and his world was safe but now he is not so sure.

Grab a copy of Elemental Fire today you will not be disappointed.

This was my first time reading anything by EG Manetti, and this book is their first time writing fantasy! While the author's scifi background is definitely noticeable, they did great creating a fantasy story. I appreciate the more thorough descriptions of the characters' thought processes , though I would have liked for them to have more personality. The romance between Sin & Rad is a little awkward in the beginning because they don't really flirt or talk about anything other than work. There are a few flirty moments & a few spicy moments farther in that are great, I just would have liked more of them to really feel the love & buildup. For me it ended up being more of an acceptance that they're together than a ship. They're still cute! Sin is great on her own & Rad is great on his own. One of the villains, Aisha, is fantastic & I would have been happy with her being the main one. She was very well written. The main villain didn't really appear long enough to feel much about them, but they were enough of a jerk to fit. The storyline is interesting & enjoyable with a couple twists that definitely made things better. There were a lot of pop culture references, which was nice, & a few were funny rather than just informational. I also appreciated that there's enough of a set up for a 2nd book to be interested in reading that one too, without having a cliffhanger. All in all, this was a pretty good book & I would read the rest of the series as well as other work by EG Manetti.

I was to the synopsis of the book and the beautiful cover...and I can say....Wow.....Fantastic book!!

Love a strong female character, Sin is human and has a gift...freelancing her work and stopping a art thief...but this thief ....not what it seems. When Sin kicks back one night she meets Radzik "Rad"... and wow the flames and connection totally off the charts! Rad...come to find out is a Fire Demon...and wow..finds out what Sin does and that she was responsible for stopping the art thief...and is in need of help. Will Rad and Sin stop goods coming into a hidden world...definitely read and find out!!

Off the charts action, word building, magic, danger, love the realms and the hot sizzle between Rad and Sin!! This author is new to me and I can say I cannot wait until Book 2 and would love to explore more from what this author has to offer!! I enjoyed reading this fantasy romance story. This is a new author for me which I enjoyed and look forward to seeing what is next for them. This is a well written story where the author used details to bring the story to life. The characters are connectable, strong and creative. They are characters that may not be all they are cracked up to be. Control can be something powerful but what will happen when you realize you may not have control at all. There are some twists and turns that had me sitting on the edge just waiting to see what would happen next. This is a fast paced story that is hard to put down. An engaging story that I highly recommend. You don’t want to miss what happens with these characters.

With a name like Sin, I went into this thinking it had to have some steam. I have to say that I LOVED this story. Some fantasy, romance, drama, mystery, suspense, etc. make for an intriguing tale that you just cannot miss. I had to finish this in 2 sittings (I had to feed my child). I found myself wanting to know what was going to happen next. Sin gets herself in some deep things. Being able to see past the glamour is pretty important in this world (or Terra) as its called. Finding out about the Hidden and having to work with one was a surprise and then things got hot from there. What a fantastic book! Another new author and I hope to read more from this author.

Sin Marston is a young human woman with unusual talents, she can see through an individuals glamour and this is one of the things the Hidden use to keep their identities hidden from humans, this talent of Sin’s is especially helpful in the security industry and that is why Sin is known as one of the best in the business, her latest case is the theft of artefacts from an exhibition which is moving around the USA and she is determined to find the culprit here in Boston. Radzik Cray is a fire elemental who has travelled the realms of the Hidden, as well as Terra where the humans live, he is a powerful and high ranking Hidden with a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders as a Warden of the Elder Council, one of which is controlling what passes through the veil, a transitory passage between Terra and the Hidden realms and this is not as easy as it sounds.

Ever since the veil treaty came into force in 2010, magical visitors had to gain permission to travel between the realms, but there are some who don’t get that and that is where the Human Protection Society come into play, they enforce the rules around Terrran and non Terran interactions and the repercussions of breaking these rules. This is where Sin comes in as she can use her talents and expertise in security and business to aid in the understanding and sometimes enforcement of these visitors so that they can have a positive experience, but also to warn them of what could happen if this is not the case.

As usual, Sin is successful in foiling the heist and captures the Hidden and takes them to the authorities, however, when she meets Radzik and finds out why the heists were happening, it puts a new spin on what she thought she knew and this includes him, there is a definite attraction between the two and her curiosity gets the better of her, so she learns even more about the Hidden world and the fire elemental who heats her blood up as well. As they grow closer, Radzik realises that his job is not as in control as he thought and that he is finding that things are getting past his attention which shouldn’t be, but why is it happening and how does Sin tie into it all? This is a fantasy adventure full of magic, beings from other realms and a bit of romance to keep it interesting as danger lies around every corner and thing are not as they seem, in this story which will keep you looking for all the hidden excitement throughout.

Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms Book 1) by EG Manetti - Review by Jessica Stone

This is the first book in a new series from an author I've never personally read yet, but one I've heard and read, nothing but amazing things about.

Right off the bat it's easy to tell how vividly this author pictures her stories while writing them, the depth in the world and characters she's creating is astounding. All the characters in my opinion were complete, not leaving out much that you need to know other than a desire for more time with them each individually.

The story was terrific, or female lead is a strong, witty, independent(without being to head strong), woman with a career and a wonderful moral compass. Our make lead is masculine, intelligent, loyal and a total hunk of course. Now through these two together and you have a WHOLE lot of page turning steamy goodness. It's not often that I get invested into characters as deeply as I did with Sin and Raz, their chemistry was addictive, it was all I could hope for when I started this book, and it did NOT let me down.

Without giving away to much, Sin is a PI with a knack for seeing through glamour, which not only comes in handy with her line of work, but also the realm the live in full of magic and "other" beings hiding in plane site.
Rad is a man of many things, power that he's honed for century, wealth a name for himself, you name it. The only thing he wants now is Sin, because to him she's just that, pure Sin. Except there's a whole lot of unexpected luggage that comes with what he thought would be a simple thing between him and her.

Anywayssss, if you want to know more you're going to have to read this brilliant story, I promise you won't regret it. You may just fall as deeply in love with the characters as I did. I Can't wait for the next installment!!

Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms #1) by E.G. Manetti

This is the first book I've read by the author. Elemental Fire is the first book in The Hidden Realms Series. The book was such a fascinating story. Fairy tales come to life in this book.

Rad is a fire elemental and interested in Sin. Being an Enforcer is hard work, but worth it in the end. Sin helps him in a crisis and he can't help but repay her. He is intrigued by her the more he gets to know her. The quote I chose for Rad is: “Sin, you fascinate me. Beguile me. But that is not why. You trusted us over your own kind. On nothing but our word. Within the hidden realms, we owe you an act of similar courage or trust. The monetary reward must equate to the value of the debt.”

Sin is a human who can see the Hidden for who they truly are. She is a PI which is how she meets an Imp she later helps break out of jail. She finds Rad interesting and can't seem to keep him off her mind. The quote I chose for Sin is: “Whoever is sourcing the dark-b knows it’s illegal beyond the veil. Otherwise, they’d be working with you or another warden. If they are caught, under the treaty, they get handed over to the Elders’Council for trial and judgment. The few criminals who have returned after the Elders’Council justice, aged decades in days. I would want a lot more than a fat bank account to risk a big piece of my life.”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Romance lovers.

I really enjoyed Elemental Fire. The author put together a wonderful story from start to finish. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s rare that I read an elemental supernatural book, and some have even been hit or miss. This one definitely hit the mark! I even liked the main characters' names. Unique and different.
Sin and Rad what a pair.
Sin a human who can see through the veil.
Rad a warden of the veil, a fire elemental also known as the flame lord.
These two are instantly attracted and intrigued by each other. Besides their attraction, they team up together to achieve a common goal. To stop the HPS from capturing, torturing, and killing the hidden. I don’t think Rad expected the asset that Sin would become, but he knew he had to claim her to protect her. Yet that didn’t prevent Lord Vatap from sending Sin on a mission that could’ve killed her. Also one she had to keep from Rad.
How does Rad feel when he finds out?
What will Sin do when she finds out Rad claimed her?
Do they figure out who was behind the kidnapping of Ciaran?
The author wrote a story that keeps you turning pages. Makes you want to know more. It’s not just a sci/fi fantasy but also a romance. So you get a little of everything. Makes me want to read more from this author. Also makes me want to look into more books with elementals as the supernatural being. For you, I suggest you read this one!

Excellent, excellent book. I loved every part of this book, especially the female main character, Sin. Elemental Fire is the first book in the Hidden Realms series by E.G. Manetti. This checks all of the boxes for me, paranormal romance, fantasy, a strong female main character, investigations, magic, adventure, danger, and more mythical creatures (which some I ended up looking up, and goodness the author did AMAZING describing them because the google images I looked up was exactly what I envisioned when reading.). I was hooked right from the beginning, and I could not put it down, ended up reading it in one sitting. The character develop was A+++, the setting was also painted magnifically, both for the Hidden Realm and Terra. I loved the story of Sin, the way she was raised, her powers of being able to see through glamour, her career choices, her previous men choices, literally loved everything about this woman. I also, thoroughly loved Rad, and even Moreso- loved Rad and Sin together! The chemistry between the two was so intense and electrifying. There is plenty of action and danger, as well as some mystery in addition to the relationship of Rad and Sin. I CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL BOOK 2 is RELEASED! Will definitely recommend to everyone I know!

I cannot say enough good things about this thrilling book or the author! The book captivated and held me all the way through. The book was exciting and full of intriguing characters! A book that was worth a read!

I loved the author's writing style for starters. I was captivated by the story that intrigued me truly. The story was easy to follow and the characters really made the book. Throughout my reading, I constantly wanted more. Sin was great! I greatly admired her, and her strengths and how bass ass she was. Learning about the Hidden, really mesmerized me, I wanted more, it was just intriguing all the way through. And let's not forget the world of Terra. The book really brought everything to the table. I cannot wait to read the next installment. This book had a special kind of magic, and seriously, it would be a sin not to read this book!

Loved this book for all it was, and all it contained! Mesmerized and captivated me all the way through! Highly recommend this talented author, this book, and for sure this must read series! Loved it all!

I loved the idea of this story. It was just hard to follow along with at times. The story deals with a lot of politics in the life of these characters. There just seemed too much for me and I struggled to care about the characters. I am not sure what the problem was but I lost interest a lot and had to keep refocusing to get this finished. There are a lot of characters. The author did a good job bringing them in slowly and giving me time to know them before introducing another.

This definitely falls into the fantasy paranormal category with a light touch on romance. We become very involved in investigations of Sin (which was cool) and watching how she works is impressive. She is smart, inquisitive and has follow through. Rad is very impressive. We learn a little more about him as the story rolls along. He is mysterious.

I liked the idea but the story does not resonate with me too much which results in an okay story. It is propelled higher by the worlds and characters this author created.

This authors writing is worthy of a chef's kiss. Honestly, I loved the descriptive nature of the writing, the way that I automatically stepped into the role of Sin and really hone her skills as my own so that I could become one with the story and the characters in which she interacts with. From what she does and who she becomes as needed, it's hard not to fall in love with her character and the feelings and emotions that whirl around. Let's go, Rad! These two just sizzle and honestly, one of the most chemistry filled connections I've read in the last while. I absolutely adored how they both really wanted to go for the gold and protect themselves and their world(s)

Overall, certainly not a novel I would want to miss out on, and likely will reread as more novels in the series are released to get the best overall of their worlds and characters and everything fantastic that this author brought to life. Please don't dismiss this as another romantic paranormal run of the mill book. Take the time to read it and you'll be pleased! Highly recommend.

Elemental Fire (The Hidden Realms Book 1) by EG Manetti

Elemental Fire is book one of The Hidden Realms series and is a Paranormal/Fantasy/Romance that I really wasn’t sure what to expect going in. Once I got started reading I couldn’t stop the twists and turns had me turning the pages trying to figure out what was going to happen next. This authors style of writing and characters are developed and the attention to detail is remarkable This is a new author to me but I’m definitely going to check out what other books they have written. This is a fast paced story packed with action and adventure that will have you turning the pages. Sometimes you don’t know the hold control can have on you and it will have you second guessing rather or not you ever truly had control or not.i highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. Im eagerly waiting for the next book and look forward to reading many more books by this author.
