The best type of revenge is one they never see coming...
Dexter went to a party with someone he trusted, thinking he was about to have a blast. What started as a night on the town ended with Dexter's gut-wrenching screams for mercy. No one heard.
Mentally broken and internally scarred due to the devastation he faced, Dexter is running out of options.
Something snaps within him.
He knows what to do to ease his pain. Six men, and six months.
Come through with a good quick psychological thriller
Tanisha is as a diverse writer. Her writing style is so captivating that I haven't yet come across anything that has completely thrown me off. "Vengeance Is Mine" left me awestruck. D's mom I can rock with and I love how she handles situations. Antoine all I can say is "He's a good man Savannah". As for D's cousins' man, they can kick rocks. I can only imagine the turmoil that D battled internally. The pain and suffering that D endured is heartbreaking, but I'm all for the actions D decided to take.
This story was wild from page 1 to the end. The author did a great job capturing Diondra's internal struggles. I couldn't blame Diondra for the choices she made, all things considered. All the major characters were likable. I didn't know what to think of Antoine until the last page. I highly recommend this book because of the twists and turns, and likable characters.
Dexter, Diondra, D? I can't imagine what it must feel like to be uncomfortable in your own body and feel a disconnect. Especially when no one was in your corner to support what you were going through. I knew what was about to happen, it was almost like slow motion, or that train wreck/car crash that you can't turn away from! 💔 Really Nahji?? Yo Fam? That was foul as hell, and unforgiveable! 🤬
With all the instability that D was already exhibiting, this trauma broke the levee and let the beast come out to play! D was not going to allow those monsters to get away with it, let the payback begin. Whew.... Miss Tanisha, I have fallen right down this dark rabbit hole with you ma'am. Can't believe I was rooting for D to get away with it all unscathed. I'm going to need something light and fun after this read, cause I am definitely in a weird headspace right now. This was dark, and some parts were tough to read, but I couldn't stop! I had to know how it ended. Just wow! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
cw/tw: gang rape (not on page), murder and childhood SA.
I think the main thing that didn't work for this story is writing Diondra aka Dexter the main character as queer and then not sticking to the character plot. Imo, I feel like the author was playing in our faces. Writing this character as a transgendered person AND using their sexual choice as a plot point for what happended to them was not right. Because at some point and time during this read, Diondra aka Dexter realizes that maybe she was just "maybe" confused and ends of being a man. It all just did not add up.
This could have been a better read because a murder revenge plot against the men who raped you "if done right and with care" would make for a page turner of a read. But care wasn't done here, just shock value added to move a story.

I mentioned to my coworker that I was in a reading slump & she gave me her copy of Vengeance is Mine. I was adamant that I am not a fan of stories I can’t relate to.. However, I needed this to pull back to reality that life isn’t always peaches & cream. This was a quick read. I got through the first chapter & put it down for a few days & came back. I’m glad I did. I just had to know what was the outcome of what happened to D. I’m glad everything worked out in the end. D got her revenge & she has new love all around her. I love that for her. Seriously, pay attention to the trigger warnings. This book could cause some regression in somebody’s healing journey.. I was told anytime I’m in a slump, I can expect Tanisha Stewart to get me out.
Trigger Warning ⚠️- Sexual assault & a baby from sexual assault
This thriller was attention grasping from page 1. I read this book in an entire sitting as wow. The plot and story line forced on Diondra trying to discover who she is as an individual while seeking revenge on those who had no respect for her. There’s a few twists and t it is is this book and it highlights how your family can either have your back or stab you in the back.
I definitely recommend this book for a quick thriller read.
This book was so good I mean excellent work! From the main character having identity issues and having that tragic thing happen to her to falling in love while getting revenge! Antoine had me scared i really thought he was working for the enemy. The end was surprising that plot twist which I won’t give away had me screaming!! Never know who is gonna pop up and has their own secrets. Every last one deserved what they got and I’m still mad we don’t know the reason why her cousin set her up like that!? What was the reason!
For like the whole first half of this book I was like, what am I reading!? This is insane! Diondra's journey was incredibly eye-opening in terms of what someone in her situation would go through mentally and emotionally and seeing yourself through the lens of others' perceptions of you. Then to compound that with "the incident" that set off this new journey of revenge... Man 🤯 Great read! p.s. if you're all phobic about stuff, leave it alone. She doesn't need your negative reviews because of YOUR issues. Otherwise, enjoy the ride.
I must say, this book is all she said it would be. I could not close my kindle fire at all. The characters are something else. I really enjoyed the different characteristics of the characters. I am not one to spoil a good book. But this is a must read. D is a confused person. I recommend this book and hope you get the same thrill that I got sitting on the edge of my seat. Tanisha, you did one hell of a job on this book. I am ready for the next one, don't keep me waiting.
Just like the author's description, this tale was dark and twisted. I almost gave up in the beginning only because I couldn't believe this was written by TS who I usually seek out for Christian fiction. But once I got past that mindset, I was all in. Sometimes family will do you in quicker than a stranger. And sometimes family gives the support you need. Loved how there was a happy ending after all those twists.
I was very mistaken when I started reading this book. I thought Tanisha Stewart was a Christian Author. I kept waiting for it to get cleaner. I was shocked at all the profanity and especially using God’s name in vain. It’s a shame because it would have been a great book but it was very unclean. I must have misread it about her being a Christian writer. I won’t be reading anything else by her.
This right here was so raw. The love and respect one can have for you and still be there unconditionally. This woman was violated to the point of no return. Her mama, God bless her soul, stood ten toes down for her baby when she needed too. That messy ass cousin of hers, needed to be drop kicked. But overall, this sh!t hit different when you trying to do it by yourself.
I really enjoyed this book! The main character m’s challenges, experiences, and trauma were the core of the plot. It was good to see how they changed throughout the book, ultimately finding and embracing their true self. However, getting there was a lot! The revenge murders and all the twists long the way, made this a captivating and fast-paced story. This was read via audio and the narrator did a great job!

I was doing an alphabet challenge and found this little gem for V. it's great quick and fast paced thriller. It has some great twists and turns and keeps you hooked. I throughly enjoyed it and actively seeking out more of the authors books. the only reason it's not getting the full 5 stars for me was because I felt a page or two more expanding the ending would have made it perfect however I've not given many 4 stars out this year so this is looking to be my top read of 2025!
This book dealt with a heavy topic and I think Tanisha Stewart did a great job of educating the reader in small doses that made it digestible. But don't get it twisted...Vengeance is Mine is still a fast pace thriller with twists and turns that will keep you turning pages
Don't believe the comments . don't waste ya time on this title !
Not good at all ! Reading others comments made me download & read in 1 setting ,however the book not that long . only thing good about this book was that it ended🙄 I'm sooooo glad it was a unlimited book .
Diondra had some horrible things happen to her and I understood her plan. I hate that she didn't trust her mother or Antoine enough to let them in from the beginning. I was confused with the dysphoria references but in the end it made a morbid sense. Great read!
Throughout Diondra’s struggle she stuck to the code (love). Without a shadow of a doubt, she had love from her mother, and knew for sure Antoine, was something out of a fairytale. This was a great read. Can’t wait to read more!
I wish this book had more character development. I wish this book had more of a journey and not allowing us to think what they all think that “they” are all confused. Idk. I like the idea and where she went with it. But, I just felt disconnected from each character beginning to end.

What an awesome, well worded story....full of excitement, suspense, drama, loss and love. I absolutely enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. My book club picked this one and I can't wait to discuss it.
This book made me go through all the emotions. I was just all for D getting her revenge and for things to go right because she didn't deserve her past. Her cousin ain't shit, and those other dudes ain't shit either. I love her mother and shout out to Antione for being a real man.
This was such a great book. This book touched on many touch hurtful topics! It was so beautiful written, I could feel and see the characters and the emotions. If I could give this book a million stars, that still wouldn’t be enough!!!
This is my favorite Tanisha Stewart story of all time—ever! She never ceases to amaze me, but she got me with this one! This was an excellent, well-crafted story. Tanisha clearly did her research and tackled some dark, complex topics, turning them into something savage and powerful. I couldn’t put it down and I recommend it daily!
